Chapter 79

Yan Daifu smiles, "The space in the cave is narrow, the two of us can't fully open up. It would be better to go outside together to determine a winner."

Ji Han still watches him coldly, not speaking at all.

Yan Daifu says, "Rest assured for the time being, as long as you can beat me, then I will let the others go immediately."

Although Ji Han doesn't believe it, he's also completely without another way.

The inside the cave truly isn't open enough for the methods of martial arts. Moreover, the other party has safety in numbers, regardless of whether these words are or aren't to deceive him, he has no other way.

From behind him, Wei Qi drags him over in a great rush, whispering in his ear impatiently, "Jiaozhu, you're still injured."

However, Ji Han gently brushes away his hands, "No matter, step down for now."

Wei Qi says, "But..."

Ji Han shakes his head faintly, "All of you stay here, don't come out."

The smile at the corners of Yan Daifu's lips becomes even larger.

Wei Qi grits his teeth, finally standing firm with determination, keeping pace in large strides, footsteps rustle behind. He turns his head back, then sees almost all of the sect members coming along silently.

Ji Han and Yan Daifu go out from the cave together, Yan Buhuo watches him, also just smiling faintly. He hasn't at all spoken anything more, seeming to think this conclusion is already properly as it should be.

That side of the Haoran Alliance, Jin Beiguo casts a glance at him, amazed as he points after him and shouts, "Demon!* Where is Zhao-xiong now!"

Ji Han seems as if he hasn't heard, walking out a few steps apathetically. Hearing it, Yan Daifu laughs behind him, "He's dead, of course."

After the Haoran Alliance is still a moment, Jin Beiguo sucks in a breath and lets him have it, "You Demon! If I live a day! I'm determined to kill you to avenge Zhao-xiong!"

His hands are weaponless, and his acupoints are sealed, naturally he can't rush over to "kill the evil with his own hands," only watching over and blocking as he shouts himself hoarse cursing in vulgar language, suddenly his voice turns harsh, and he tumbles to sit on the ground, in order to cover his eyes with his hands, tears streaming down his face.

Haoran's Mengzhu also mumbles to himself dazedly, "It's me... It's me who harmed Zhao-xianzhi.**"

However, Ji Han still turns a deaf ear, only going out a few steps, turning around, coldly saying to Yan Daifu, "Draw your sword."

Yan Daifu says, "Since I'm your xiongzhang, naturally I'll yield to you a little."

Speech not yet fallen, the sword in his hand has already left its sheath, striking downward onto Ji Han's shoulder. Ji Han uses the sword's scabbard to block, sword in hand in an instant.

Yan Daifu uses a flexible sword, specifically targeting Ji Han's injured shoulder that hasn't yet healed. Inherently, Ji Han isn't an expert in regards to defense, and the flexible sword and an ordinary longsword are not alike. He uses his sword in order to block the attack, the body of the flexible sword then is like a long snake bending to slant down and slice open a wound.

Several rounds come, Ji Han feels the wound on his shoulder has split open, the sharp pain ceaseless. Once more blocking a few of Yan Daifu's maneuvers, hand suddenly losing strength, longsword showing his hand, he hastily moves aside from the sword's blow, however in the next try he's again unable to avoid it.

His back already injured from the sword's energy, however he hears Yan Daifu cry out in pain behind him, and turns his head back. Yan Daifu's sword has also been struck flying out of his hand.

Blocking behind him is one person, clothes white as snow. Ji Han is stunned a moment, until that person turns his head back, then almost his whole heart is filled with happiness as he calls out, "Zhao Jiangui."

Zhao Jiangui says, "I've come late."

Ji Han frowns, however he's quite happy as he soon purses his lips up into a smile, saying in a low voice, "It's alright, it doesn't count as too late."

Haoran Alliance is silent a while, Jin Beiguo saying in alarm, "Zhao-xiong, you didn't die?"

Zhao Jiangui, however, hangs his eyes gazing at Ji Han fallen to the ground, smiling faintly as he says, "I'm indebted to Jiaozhu's kindness, so Zhao-mou*** at last escaped misfortune, after all."

Ji Han already can't hold back the smile from the corners of his mouth, Zhao Jiangui's sentence hasn't yet finished, the ignored hand turns over to return to the sword blocking Yan Daifu's move, sweeping open the longsword in his hand, slowly opening his mouth to say, "You remember, the fiercest way of the sword in this world, isn't the sword that kills people, but the sword that saves people."

*魔头/mótóu - demon/monster/devil. This is one term I've been translating despite its direct usage towards Ji Han. (I think the drama translates it as "Devil" on iQIYI, but I just like "demon" more.)

**贤侄/xiánzhí - "one's nephew or friend's son" is the definition I get for this, but also an honorific for a virtuous younger person.

***某/mǒu - used to refer to oneself.
