Chapter 147: Dekan’s List

"I know you would never become the Cardinal of the Resurgence Church."

Although Ice Princess had a hint of sorrow in her expression, her tone was firm.

"But... this is the official announcement released by the Resurgence Church."

She handed Dekan a document, detailing the information publicly disclosed by the Resurgence Church that morning.

"After positive and friendly communication, we are pleased to announce that Mr. D, proficient in curses, poison, and mental control, has officially joined the Resurgence Church. He will serve as a new Cardinal of the church - the Cardinal of Pain - and fight alongside other members for our great doctrine."

"Ive been fucking transferred to Resurgence Gaming Club to play as a jungler?!"

Dekan couldn't help but curse. Although the Resurgence Church didn't explicitly name Dekan, the description was practically revealing his identity.

"Who came up with this miserable idea?"

Dekan felt as if he had been tricked into a situation where he couldn't escape. The Resurgence Church, in his opinion, was being utterly disgusting. If the church genuinely considered him a companion, they wouldn't reveal such information about their own people. So, it was clear that the Resurgence Church had sinister intentions. They aimed to provide a handle to those who wanted to cause trouble for Dekan.

"This is just a means for the Resurgence Church to sow discord. While there will be people with ulterior motives taking advantage of it, please don't worry. The truth will prevail, and the majority of people believe in you as a hero." The Ice Princess looked at Dekan seriously.

Seeing Dekan's silence, Ice Princess added, "I absolutely believe in you."

"Is it because if my reputation becomes too high or if I become a special class card maker, it might touch the interests of certain people?"

Ice Princess handed Dekan a pre-prepared list. Dekan took a look at the list, expressionless, and nodded.

"I understand, thank you."

"The forces in the Northern Countries are currently requesting a comprehensive investigation of you from the Kingdoms Federation, trying to take you away from the Norton Kingdom. However, the Norton Kingdom and several friendly neighboring countries have strongly opposed this. But please rest assured, no matter what, His Majesty the King will not hand you over."

"Okay."

Dekan knew that the Norton Kingdom would not betray him. Since he started school, the King and the nobles of the Norton Kingdom had undoubtedly been firm supporters of him. Otherwise, Dekan's life could not have been so relaxed and carefree.

And most of the surrounding neighboring countries were friendly with the Norton Kingdom. Considering that Dekan had eliminated the Cardinal of Ruin Evans who frequently appeared to terrorize their countries, the neighboring countries would undoubtedly feel much more reassured. Therefore, there were other forces with a protective stance towards Dekan.

However, the unity between the Kingdoms Federation was not absolute. Imperial forces outside the Federation also posed a headache. This provided an opportunity for the Resurgence Church to sow discord.

"So, Dekan, if you go and kill one or two more Cardinals, won't that prove your innocence? The Resurgence Church can't possibly tolerate you challenging them like this, right, meow!" Suddenly, Teacher Cat made a genius remark from the side.

"If I have that ability, why wouldn't I just go and deal with those who oppose me directly? Aren't they more manageable than those Cardinals?" Dekan retorted without holding back.

Being able to defeat Evans was not only due to having reliable teammates but also because Evans had walked into Dekan's trap. Daring to actively seek Dekan out meant having no way to retreat. However, if Dekan were to actively go after those Cardinals, even if he brought his idol group along, it would be challenging.

"Don't act recklessly, meow!" The Teacher Cat, hearing Dekan's dangerous words, momentarily suspected if this guy was actually the Cardinal of Pain.

Dekan remained silent, only flipping through the list again. He ran his fingertip over their names one by one, as if intending to erase their names.
