After checking into the hotel, Yi Ming put his things in order and then flopped face-up onto the bed.

Jiang Wei hadn't replied to his messages yet, and her calls went unanswered. It had been nearly five hours since their last contact, and Yi Ming felt as if a million ants were moving house in his heart, devouring his sanity in a flurry.

Yi Ming's words were cut short when his phone screen suddenly lit up.

Almost instantly, Yi Ming bolted upright from the bed. Moving too quickly, the blood didn't have time to rush back to his brain, and his vision went completely black for a moment.

He quickly shook his head a couple of times, and as his vision began to clear up, Yi Ming saw it was a call from Jiang Wei and immediately answered.

"Jiang Wei, what are you doing? Are you trying to scare your future husband to death so you can find some young stud?"

Yi Ming's emotions got the better of him for a moment as he fired a barrage of accusations at Jiang Wei on the other end of the line.

Although his words were harsh, his tone softened with each syllable.

Jiang Wei thought about borrowing someone else's phone to message Yi Ming, but after that, the teacher kept shooting them sharp glares for the entire class, so the two of them didn't dare cause any more trouble...

"Then why didn't you call me after class?"

Yi Ming hopped off the bed and went to the table to open a bottle of water. He'd been thirsty for a while, but his worries about Jiang Wei had made him forget to get something to drink.
