Chapter 38
Chi Yan returned to school and sent a message to Chu Yang: "It's done."
Chu Yang was in class at the time, but he had been worrying about this matter in his heart the whole time. Seeing Chi Yan's message, his heart immediately relaxed.
After sending a reply to Chi Yan's message, Chu Yang started to pay attention in class seriously.
At lunch when school ended, Chu Yang and Jin Yang walked out of the classroom, discussing "Dream of the Red Chamber" which the teacher had talked about today, while heading towards the bus station.
After getting on the bus, the two got off at the stop for the school cafeteria. They entered the cafeteria to eat.
While eating, Chu Yang and Jin Yang chatted. Suddenly, a male student sat down next to Chu Yang. Jin Yang and Chu Yang looked over as the male student said to Chu Yang, "Hello classmate, may I sit here?"
You've already sat down before even asking?
But since no one was sitting there originally, Chu Yang nodded indifferently and continued eating.
Then a phone was extended towards them, showing a QR code on the screen. Chu Yang and Jin Yang looked over again.
The male student smiled and said, "Classmate, can I add your WeChat?"
Chu Yang shook his head. "Sorry, I don't have WeChat." Most people would understand he meant he didn't want to give his WeChat when hearing this excuse. Findd new stories at novelhall.com
But this person seemed unable to understand, laughing and saying, "How could anyone not have WeChat? Why don't you open an account now? I'll help you open one."
Jin Yang's eyes widened in shock next to them. She had never seen anyone so shameless.
Chu Yang was speechless for a moment. "Sorry, I don't want to add you."
The male student nodded, not bothered by the refusal. "Alright, so when do you want to add me?"
Chu Yang: "I never want to."
The male student asked in surprise: "Am I very ugly?"
Chu Yang looked him over. "You look normal."
The male student breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good. I thought I was very ugly. Since that's the case, let me introduce myself. I am called Xi Jiajing, from the Business School. When you want to add me someday, ask me again."
Having said that, the male student left their side.
Lin ZhaoZhao was puzzled. "Huh? I thought it was her boyfriend. It looks pretty blissful to have your boyfriend pick you up after school." Still, she continued, "But why didn't you go with them?"
Jin Yang: "...What would I go for? To be a light bulb?"
Lin ZhaoZhao: "Didn't you say he wasn't her boyfriend?" Then she seemed to have a sudden realization. "Oh I get it! They must be in the ambiguous pre-dating phase!"
Jin Yang: ......She didn't say anything like that at all. And she doesn’t even know Chu Yang’s attitude; it doesn’t seem that way.
"Forget it, let's go eat. It just so happens we're both alone. *sigh* The life of single dogs."
Jin Yang: That hit me right in the feels.
The little lamb scooter that Zheng Qing had mentioned last time was quickly bought by Chi Yan. He had even prepared two matching helmets thoughtfully, one black and one pink.
Sitting on the vehicle, Chu Yang asked, “Did you change cars?”
Chi Yan: “No, this one is mine. The one last time was my roommate’s.”
“Oh.” Chu Yang had just asked casually.
The little lamb scooter wove through the crowds of people leaving school after class. Once they were out the school gate, they arrived at the restaurant. Chi Yan locked up the scooter first, then he and Chu Yang walked into the restaurant.
There were no private rooms available, but the two didn’t mind and just sat in the main hall.
The two couldn’t eat too much. Chu Yang ordered a vegetable dish, while Chi Yan ordered the rest since she was treating him. After all, he had gotten to know her tastes from their previous meal together, and ordered a pork rib dish, a fish dish, and a soup, making three dishes and one soup, just the right amount.
While they waited, Chi Yan told Chu Yang about what had happened that morning.
“I called over some people from my uncle’s side, then went and sat at the small shop outside the elementary school early this morning... I hadn’t even noticed yet when my uncle’s men had already restrained them. It really was fortunate that you gave me the heads up, otherwise the kids would have certainly......”
Chi Yan didn’t finish his sentence, but Chu Yang understood what he meant to say.
Chu Yang shook her head. “I just happened to see it, that’s all. I’m not omnipotent either. When I see something, I have to put a stop to it. As for things I don’t see, there’s nothing I can do.”
Chi Yan’s voice was very gentle. “It was already great what you did. In my family... *coughs* I have relatives who have seen those so-called grandmasters before. They all look like they’re above worldly affairs, and what they say most is not to interfere too much.”
Chu Yang knew who he was talking about. “I’m not the same as them. I cultivate differently.” Witches didn’t have anything like retribution to speak of. Of course, meddling with truly major events was indeed not advisable.
Chi Yan also understood that. He wanted to ask in more detail, but there were too many people around here with prying eyes so it wasn’t convenient to say more. Therefore, he didn’t inquire further. When the dishes came up, the two started eating.
Chi Yan brought up the basketball tournament then.
