Chapter 149

Last night was a bit late, and the next morning around 10 o'clock, the two slowly opened their eyes. Chu Yang's head was nestled in Chi Yan's embrace, with one of Chi Yan's hands wrapped around her.

Chu Yang rubbed her eyes and sat up, patting Chi Yan's chest, "Ah Yan, get up, I'm hungry."

Chi Yan quickly pulled her back into the quilt, leaning in to gently nibble on her shoulder, and the two of them played around a bit more before finally getting up.

For lunch, they ordered takeout, as there was nothing in the fridge except water, since they hadn't gone out to buy anything the day before.

In the afternoon, they got dressed in matching outfits - long black down jackets, black pants, and striped scarves - and went out. They first went window shopping, then planned to watch the movie "Long Live the Motherland" in the evening, which they had previously arranged.

With plenty of time, they also strolled through the park and took some photos together.

Around 6 pm, they went to have dinner, then walked a bit to aid digestion before heading to the cinema around 8 pm. The movie was quite popular, with the theater packed even on a weekday.

This was Chu Yang's second time watching it, and she was still deeply moved. After the film ended, Chi Yan carefully wiped her tears with a tissue.

"Don't cry, our motherland is already strong, and it will only grow stronger in the future."

"Mm-hmm," Chu Yang responded with a slightly nasal voice.

A couple sitting nearby saw them and the woman poked the man, "Look at them."

The man pointed to his own tears, "You see, even I'm crying, you should comfort me too."

The woman: ...

It was past 10 pm when the movie ended, but the two were in no rush to go back. They went to the supermarket, then slowly walked hand-in-hand on the almost-deserted sidewalk, with trees providing a tranquil, serene atmosphere. In this peaceful setting, Chi Yan felt like they could walk together forever.

As they were walking, it suddenly started snowing.

Chu Yang held out her hand to catch a snowflake, then looked up, "Ah Yan, it's snowing."

Chi Yan also looked up, "Mm-hmm."

Time flew by quickly, and Chu Yang was packing her things. Chi Yan hovered nearby, hesitating, wanting to say something but holding back. Chu Yang noticed, "If you want to say something, just say it."

Chi Yan came closer, resting his head on her shoulder, "What if you don't go back? Can you move in with me instead? I don't want to be apart from you."

Chu Yang paused her packing. She had already been spending about half her time at Chi Yan's place, and they were practically living together. It was more convenient there, since the witch's books were all kept at Chi Yan's. But she was still a bit hesitant about fully cohabiting - the saying goes that distance makes the heart grow fonder, and she worried that being together all the time might lead to more friction.

Chi Yan wrapped his arms around her waist, looking at her pleadingly, "Please? Will you do it?"

Chu Yang continued packing, "Let me think about it. But I do need to go back to the dorm tonight."

Hearing that she would consider it, Chi Yan was already pleased. He no longer insisted, and instead helped her pack. "Central, do you need to take this?" he asked, pulling a small piece of lingerie from his drawer.

Chu Yang covered her eyes, her ears instantly reddening, "Put that down!"

Chi Yan placed it in her suitcase, "Okay, it's packed."

Chu Yang lowered her hand, her blush still not faded, "It's getting late, you go make dinner, I'll finish packing."

"Okay."

Chi Yan went to the kitchen, and Chu Yang hurried to his closet, pulling out all her other clothes - underwear, pajamas, and more. Goodness, how did she accumulate so much here?

What she didn't know was that every time, Chi Yan would neatly fold her clothes and put them away in his own closet, mixing them in with his own.

After finishing the packing, Chu Yang went to the kitchen to help Chi Yan. They spent half an hour cooking, then it was time to eat.

After the meal, they rested for a bit before Chi Yan drove Chu Yang to the campus. They kissed for a long time at the dorm building, and Chi Yan only let her go when she disappeared into the dorm.

Chu Yang pushed open the door, and Jin Yang and the others looked over, "We thought you might not come back tonight!"

Chu Yang shook her head, "No, I came back a couple days ago already."

She didn't say the whole truth, but Jin Yang and the others could guess that Chu Yang had spent the extra time with her boyfriend Chi Yan.

After all, they couldn't see each other during the entire winter break, so Chu Yang must have come a little earlier to accompany Chi Yan, her doting boyfriend. And Chi Yan doted on Chu Yang just as much in return - that's just how their affectionate relationship is.
