“Lunatic…” Lin Yi mumbles, knitting his brows, “has recovered slightly?”
Jiang Yiyi is still staring fixedly at Lunatic, while asking with interest, “what do you mean?”
Lin Yi’s gaze is also fixated; possibly attracted to observing the clean and effective techniques, or possibly just blanking out, and he answers without much thought, “he’s pulling his punches.”
“Hm?”
“If he was not, no one would be alive here anymore.”
Lunatic has his hands on the neck of the only standing prisoner left. His fingers brush past his Adam’s Apple.
Jiang Yiyi also gives it a look. On his dissection diagram, a large ‘Vulnerability’ is marked there, accompanied by a detailed walkthrough——
Recommended method: Utilise professional boning life [With a clear image].
Do not use bare hands to shatter without high strength and technique. Risk of failure high.
This is the top level of the Surgery skill——Calling into question why it is even named ‘Surgery.’ The 108 vulnerabilities displayed in front of Jiang Yiyi that demonstrates in excruciating detail how to quickly, conveniently and discreetly dispose of someone is at least proof that assassination is far easier than a mano-a-mano.
Lunatic’s fist detracts slightly. The last prisoner falls to the ground after a vicious uppercut to his jaw.
Nobody knows he just brushed shoulders with death.
Well, not exactly. Someone does.
Jiang Yiyi turns to look at Lin Yi.
The man sighs an almost imperceptible relief, before taking note of Jiang Yiyi’s gaze and locking eyes.
Jiang Yiyi winks, then looks back at the body to continue saving lives.
The prison officers have been spectating for quite a while, until finally Lunatic has stopped, and they then saunter over to look over the prisoners whining on the ground, waving their hands to say, “take them away for brawling! Three days confinement.”
Lunatic slowly moves behind Jiang Yiyi once more.
The prison officer completely ignores him and approaches Jiang Yiyi instead.
“Doctor, this is getting quite difficult for us.”
Jiang Yiyi glances up at him then looks back at the unfortunate soul in front of him, stopping the bleeding just before he is due to suffer massive haemorrhaging.
The prison officer has not received an answer, and he calls out once more, louder this time, “Doctor?”
The blade dances among the flesh. There is a chill to the calm air.
“I do not like looking up to others.”
The officer subconsciously touches the baton on his waist while Jiang Yiyi still crouched on the ground.
The silent and unresponsive Lunatic moves his gaze slowly towards the prison officer.
Another officer puts his hand on him to take over, “that’s fine. We will wait until you are finished.”
He drags the first prison officer away for a few steps, until a safe distance is established between them, and Jiang Yiyi and Lunatic, then elbows him lightly.
He looks where the second officer is looking, following his gaze.
Lunatic is staring at him in silence, looking like a beast ready to pounce.
The courtyard is quiet.
Jiang Yiyi has finished suturing the wound. After confirming the word ‘pass’ emerges from out of sight, he stands back up to face the prison officers.
“Were you going to ask something?”
“Never mind.” The prison officer shakes his head and smiles at Jiang Yiyi, “Doctor, courtyard time is over. You should be going back.”
Lin Yi is not surprised at their decision.
A beast has been chained – the other end of the chain, a predator.
“Let’s go.” Lin Yi leads Jiang Yiyi back to the cell, moving past the prison officers.
After some distance away, Jiang Yiyi finally breaks the silence.
“How are things with Butcher now?”
Lin Yi slows down a little, “I believe our talk has achieved clear results.”
“A clear result of ignoring you?”
“For they now know to fear. Is that not a good thing?” Lin Yi remarks, “we are in no rush, and time is on our side, after all…”
The door to the cell opens as he scans his card, “unless, you would rather head to the third floor right now?”
Jiang Yiyi heads into his cell and returns the scalpel to Lin Yi.
“You misunderstand me.” Jiang Yiyi says honestly, “I have always been planning to simply serve my sentence without trouble.”
Lin Yi raises his brow.
“The second floor is a good place to be. I do not feel like leaving.”
Lin Yi can’t hold back a smile, “Doctor, that is far too much of an underestimation of yourself.”
“You should not be here.”
“The Han Federation Stargaol has six floors, in order to avoid giving predators free reign over a field of sheep.”
Lin Yi looks at Lunatic standing behind Jiang Yiyi, “even Lunatic could not avoid being promptly transferred to the second floor with the Fleet behind him.” Never mind other prisoners.
“That is how the Han Federation Stargaol operates. Everyone must play by the rules.”
