Jiang Yiyi turns his attention from Ye Wang to Magician.
He has not seen this prison officer. This is their first meeting.
Right now, in his gaze, the two informational figures have given him their analyses.
Every Vulnerability listed on the dissection diagram in front of Jiang Yiyi contains the best course of action to take in order to take advantage, and they are all blank.
Meanwhile, the emotional chart shows a multitude of emotions. Wariness, Bewilderment, Confusion, Attraction, Fear, Disdain, Joy, Melancholy…
It’s a whole page of terminology, practically encompassing all the words that can be used to describe human emotion.
He is truly the most dangerous NPC he has met thus far.
Then Jiang Yiyi notes the officer’s unremarkable appearance, and clarifies his label – the most dangerous background NPC he has met thus far.
Magician’s gaze moves away from Jiang Yiyi politely after but moments.
“I’ve brought Lin Yi. What now?”
Ye Wang looks at Jiang Yiyi, “give him to Doctor.”
“He’s quite wounded, though.” Magician lets Lin Yi down on the spot, not seemingly intent on approaching Jiang Yiyi at all, “do be careful when moving him.”
Huh. The quality of wariness is true on the list, at least.
Jiang Yiyi does not reply, but instead continues the previous topic, “Ye Wang, you were in the middle of saying?”
Ye Wang pauses, recalling his answer interrupted by Magician.
He looks at Magician by reflex.
Magician is pushing his imaginary cap down once again, interceding, “Doctor, you are hearing things. We are prison officers, we can’t possibly develop any ill-will towards you.”
Jiang Yiyi gives him a blunt, unemotional response, “I wasn’t asking you.”
Magician shrugs and keeps his mouth shut.
Jiang Yiyi’s tone rises, hurrying the Coordinator, “Ye Wang?”
Ye Wang watches Jiang Yiyi for a few seconds, as he finds himself remembering a name – Lone Wolf.
Lone Wolf, who chose to commit suicide.
The only person one can identify with animosity towards him would be Jiang Yiyi.
Ye Wang swallows a little, and finally, makes the correct choice.
“I have no reason to act antagonistically to you.”
Jiang Yiyi stops his hand which was all ready to change his label to enemy. His tone sounds almost disappointed.
“The way you were speaking, I thought you would want to see me dead.”
“It is illegal to murder.” Ye Wang replies, his tone rather rigid.
“Exactly. Want to see me dead.” Jiang Yiyi stresses the word ‘want.’
“You were overthinking it.” Ye Wang says, almost devoid of emotion now, “I am simply doing my job.”
“Oh, I see.” Jiang Yiyi observes Ye Wang for a few more seconds hesitantly, before finally deciding to change the label he already has on Ye Wang from friendly to neutral.
“I will be confirming with Jian Si, who talked him into committing the crime.”
“I see, I’d also like to know why he killed Black Glove.”
Lin Yi suddenly finds himself unable to keep watching the spectacle with popcorn——If not for his body, he might have leapt into the air.
“What? Black Glove is dead?”
Ye Wang repeats, giving him but a glance, “Jian Si did it.”
Lin Yi quickly turns his eyes to Jiang Yiyi, “why?”
See? Other than the lack of evidence, everyone comes to the conclusion that this was Doctor’s will immediately.
Lin Yi quickly changes the nature his question, however, “why did he need to die?”
“Perhaps, that is a question you can ask Jian Si.” Jiang Yiyi offers him a friendly advice.
Ah, so he does not want to say. Lin Yi, with his lauded experience of having been by Jiang Yiyi’s side for a long time, quickly ‘assumes’ Jiang Yiyi’s intention.
“And I will find out.” Ye Wang is trying to pull a smile again, “hopefully, Doctor’s name will not be part of his statement.”
Jiang Yiyi answers Ye Wang with a straight face and confident tone, “of course it won’t.”
Ye Wang finds himself left slightly agape at the confidence.
Powerlessness. The usual powerlessness is already descending over him, before he has even started interrogation procedures against Jian Si. It is as if he can already see how it will end.
The interrogation will produce no result. Jian Si will tell him nothing. There is nothing connecting Doctor to this incident. All he will have, is a criminal, Jian Si, confessing to his crime fully, and an unsubstantiated accusation he will have to keep to himself.
“It’s getting late, should we be going?” Magician makes a show of looking up at the sky, interjecting, “aren’t you going to be really busy now, if I recall?”
Ye Wang takes a deep breath, then turns to leave. He is quickly followed by the rest of the prison officers. They leave in a hurry.
Jiang Yiyi concludes that Ye Wang did hold slight animosity towards him.
However, he is keeping it in check, and backing off. He should not pursue the matter, then.
Jiang Yiyi generously forgives the Coordinator, then walks next to Lin Yi, observing.
Simple fracture of the ribs. Time for a surgery.
Jiang Yiyi stands back up, and looks back at Lunatic.
Lunatic comes, then, after staring at Lin Yi blankly for a while, suddenly turns towards where Ye Wang left, going, “strong.”
Yes, Captain Obvious. Of course that guy is strong. Lin Yi can’t help but label that guy whose arm did not so much as involuntarily twitch after carrying a grown men all this way as a monster.
Lunatic then pauses, and slowly crouches to lift Lin Yi up——It isn’t difficult to bring Lin Yi along, but it will be quite difficult to do so without his loose rib poking holes into his innards.
A stretcher would be most helpful, but Magician did not employ one, so naturally, Lunatic does not.
And so Lin Yi is slowly carried by Lunatic back to the cell——He is fortunate, for his wounds do not worsen during the transport.
He is also quite the opposite of fortunate, for he is now scheduled for a surgery done by the man Jiang Yiyi himself——A bare-bones surgery with lacking equipment and no anaesthesia.
On the one hand, Lin Yi knows that Doctor’s skills are unparalleled. His surgery will not fail or have any complications.
On the other hand, it is not just your average Joe that can face Jiang Yiyi when he has his scalpel in hand.
Unrelated to his surgery skills, this is a fundamental fear from Jiang Yiyi’s person himself.
He is like the most terrible monster from the worst nightmare that darkest night come to life. He draws forth the deepest, most buried terror in people’s hearts.
Author’s notes: You might find this explanation redundant, but just in case you didn’t notice this flag——Refer to Chapter 35 for this mention of Jian Si being alone with Black Glove.
【While everything is pushing along on fast forward, Lin Yi quietly leaves Black Glove’s cell.
This riotous condition on the fourth floor will not last long. Lin Yi knows too well how much energy Stargaol has, so he has no time. He is in a hurry.
Practically as soon as he left, Jian Si was thrown into Black Glove’s cell by Ye Wang.】
