Chapter 57: Pushed Down Onto the Carpet

The matter of borrowing a child cannot be realized immediately, but the matter of arriving home will happen within five minutes.

Zhou Mushi slowly twisted open the door, wearing his “eccentric attire”.

Jin Yang was sitting at the table eating, with the aroma of braised fish filling the air.

He was wearing a simple white home outfit and slowly picked the fish meat into the bowl with chopsticks, moving gracefully like a gentleman.

Jin Yang was sitting at the table and didn’t have much of a reaction to seeing Zhou Mushih enter so oddly. He just sat there, still calmly picking fish bones and without any expression on his face.

Zhou Mushi quickly moved his face to the side, feeling a little guilty for no reason.

Last time, Jin Yang seemed to have told him to drink less, but he forgot and came home reeking of alcohol today.

Seeing him sitting there without saying a word, Zhou Mushi scratched the back of his head and said something meaningless, “Are you eating?”

Jin Yang’s chopsticks paused for a moment, and he gave him a foolish look before replying, “hmm.”

The answer choked Zhou Mushi for a moment. He quickly walked to his room, changed into his pajamas and pants, and then went to the bathroom to clean himself up.

The room fell into a dead silence again, except for the sound of rushing water in the bathroom, nothing else could be heard.

There was still a hint of the cooked food’s fragrance lingering in the dining room, which didn’t match the room where there was no one around at all.

Zhou Mushi came out of the bathroom and instead of going straight back to his room as usual, he sat on the sofa for a while after drying his hair.

During the gathering with his friends, he ate his fill and yet for some reason, he now felt a little hungry.

Whether it was his mind or his stomach, he began to crave Jin Yang’s braised beef.

Zhou Mushi’s mother also knows how to make braised beef, and her skills are even better than Jin Yang’s.

However, the dish made by Zhou Mushi’s mother was more like a dish with a marked price tag placed on a restaurant table, rather than something that feels like home-cooked food.

He picked up the folding pillow next to him, unzipped it, and spread it out like a small blanket over himself, nestling into the sofa.

The space on the sofa was much smaller than the bed, but it felt more secure for Zhou Mushi as the sofa back and seat were tightly pressed against him.

Sometimes, certain things can’t be explained with a reason.

Zhou Mushi is not from a single-parent family, nor do his parents have disharmony, and he has an elder brother who loves him. But how did he develop a sense of insecurity from a young age?

He cannot understand it himself, but the feeling of wanting to curl up into a ball has been with him since he was very young.

He would sit alone in a small corner, hoping that nothing would happen and he could be forgotten by the world in a shadowy place. Sometimes, he felt that this was quite good.

If even a little bit of sunshine were to come in, it would be named after Jin Yang without a doubt.

He didn’t know what time he fell asleep. When Jin Yang came out of the room to pour some water to drink, he saw the person curled up in a small ball on the sofa.

Once upon a time, when Zhou Mushi was still a student, he would sometimes wait for Jin Yang on the sofa like this, wrapped in a small blanket, when he had to work overtime on Friday afternoons after returning from a break.

Jin Yang was very naive at that time, and his first reaction was to work even harder to earn more money, to buy a bigger sofa for Zhou Mushi to lie on and be comfortable.

He quietly stood beside the sofa and by the faint light outside the window, looked at the person who was sleeping with a furrowed brow, not knowing what they were dreaming about.

It’s already springtime, but the nights are still not very warm, so a thin blanket would definitely be cold.

He hurried back to his room to get a thicker blanket, squatting down and wrapping the small figure from head to toe.

As he tucked the blanket around Zhou Mushi’s neck and shoulders, the sleeping figure rolled over, and warm lips brushed against his hand.

Jin Yang was momentarily stunned, and the person on the couch woke up in alarm.

The room was quiet. After a while, Zhou Mushi forced a smile, opened his mouth, but couldn’t say anything.

Jin Yang still half-knelt there, tightly grasping the corner of the blanket in his hand, as if holding onto the only hope in the world.

After a long silence, the man finally struggled out of his inability to restrain himself.

He was like a panicked moth trying to escape the candlelight, and suddenly let go of his hand, trying to escape back to his room. His hand had just moved away from the blanket when someone grabbed his wrist.

Zhou Mushi was not afraid of these things. Even if he knew that the consequences would be disastrous, he still tried to hold onto Jin Yang.

Jin Yang’s expression changed slightly, and he suddenly said, “When you sleep on the sofa in the future, remember to close the doors and windows in the living room, don’t let the wind blow in, it’s easy to catch a cold.”

Zhou Mushi’s face changed slightly, as if in that moment, there was a glimmer of light in his eyes, but then it became calm again.

Jin Yang looked at him again, and realized that he must have been mistaken just now.

Zhou Mushi pushed the unprepared person down onto the soft light grey carpet and pounced on him.

Without giving Jin Yang any chance to react, Zhou Mushi kicked the blankets off him.

The kiss from above lacked a gradual and methodical approach, as their lips met and the two temperatures touched, it caused a sudden shudder.

The sensation from trembling lips to the cerebral cortex was like being injected with a rapidly acting drug.

Despite Jin Yang still being in shock, Zhou Mushi didn’t hold back under his lips, and his inexpressible voice was drowned in the kiss full of affection.

Zhou Mushi trembling eyelashes and the gentle gaze that flashed after opening his eyes swept over Jin Yang’s heart, making it tremble fiercely.

In the dim light, Zhou Mushi, who always left Jin Yang bewildered during the day, threw away all his disguise. Even if his plan was originally to harm Jin Yang, he suddenly cursed himself for it when he hugged him.

Jin Yang looked at the person within reach covering him and couldn’t help but respond with a kiss.

As soon as Jin Yang responded, Zhou Mushi’s hands moved up and down, embracing and deepening the kiss, with a hot and ambiguous breath spreading between the two.

Gradually, it made their whole body numb, and their heads became even more dizzy.

Could it be the alcohol taking effect? This was the last clear thought in Zhou Mushi’s mind.
