Chapter 907: Monotonous Routine

Yvonne, who had planned to seek Silvia in order to gain some answers, failed to do so not just on that day but for the many days that followed as well.

The party had come to an end on a peaceful note with not much taking place after they had gathered together at the main venue.

On this occasion, Yvonne had gotten the chance to be introduced to a few unfamiliar faces she had seen at this party before their family could head back from the Tanner estate.

Among them, the first was the heir of the Kiron family, Maximillian Kiron, to whom she was introduced thanks to Aleena’s assistance.

She also met Jacob Kiron had arrived at the tea party along with her cousins, the Valente twins, indicating that the boys had now gotten close to each other and could be considered to be good friends.

She had also seen Standley Blaise who was as silent and uninterested in those around him as she had observed in the past as well.

Yvonne even got the chance to meet Viscountess Zavanth in whose arms was her youngest son, a toddler who was just beginning to speak incoherent words.

.....

Of all the numerous people she had interacted with on that day, one was a familiar face she had seen in the past.

A certain young man whose stellar looks had caught her attention a few years ago had once again come into her line of sight at this party.

Jasper Brodie, the man she had met at Serenity Haven Inn that was located close to the Royal Academy, had once again managed to attract her gaze.

He had approached the St. Claire family just before they were about to head back home.

Therefore, Rutherford was right there when this young man from the side branch of the Brodie family bowed close to Yvonne and smiled widely when he came forward to greet her.

Raylene found this sight amusing as something similar had taken place when she and her daughter had met this gentleman a few years ago.

Just as she had expected, the bright smile Yvonne was graced with made her flush but the men with her did not seem to be impressed with it as clear scowls were evident on their faces.

Howard had witnessed this sight in the past but this was something new for Rutherford whose vigilance towards this young businessman heightened almost instantly.

However, Jasper Brodie had not noticed their dissatisfaction with his close contact with the child as his attention was focused solely on the little girl.

As he inquired about how she had been in the past few years and if she still remembered meeting him, he also did not forget to introduce someone new to the St. Claire family.

Thus on the day of the Tanner tea party, Yvonne had been introduced to the second child of Monek Brodie, the head of one of the side branches of the Brodie family.

Jasper was already a known figure in the business world as his interests were focused on the entertainment and hospitality industry.

However, his younger brother wasn’t yet acquainted with too many people in their noble society due to his introverted nature.

Hence, Jasper had chosen this opportunity to introduce him to a few influential figures, one of which happened to be the wealthiest man of their Kingdom, Earl Rutherford St. Claire.

Nevertheless, this was just his excuse as his main aim was to interact with the little girl whom he had seen only from afar a few times in previous years.

Yvonne had no clue about the young man’s interest in her and hence only gazed at the new person whom she had personally met for the very first time.

However, this wasn’t an unfamiliar face to her as she had seen it quite a few times.

‘Kelvin Brodie,’ She had uttered the name in her mind before Jasper had even gotten the chance to announce his identity.

Thanks to Yvonne’s knowledge about the script this world followed, she was certain that this young boy was the one whom Duke Brodie would soon declare to be his heir as he had no sons of his own.

???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????

When he realized that Glennise would be his only child in this life, he resolved to think of another way to remedy this situation and hence had begun thinking about who would take up the role of his successor for a long time now.

The Duke had initially considered naming Jasper as his heir a few years ago but the young man had straightaway declined the offer.

He had no interest in shouldering the struggles that accompanied the troublesome position of a Duke.

He was satisfied with his simple life as a business owner and had thus politely refused his uncle, Duke Maldock Brodie when this offer was extended to him in the past

However, no one outside the core members of the Brodie family knew about it.

This information had never left the closed confines of the Brodie family’s office room as it was confidential information not many were privy to.

Since the Duke had already been rejected once, the only other person he could choose from the side branch was the second son of his elder cousin, Kelvin.

Even Yvonne was clueless about this information as the script only mentioned Kelvin Brodie being named as the Duke’s successor as Glennise would not be able to do so due to her gender.

All she knew was that Kelvin would be announced as the heir at his coming-of-age ceremony a few years from now.

Therefore, it seemed that the Duke was already carving a path for the young boy to be acquainted with other nobles to ensure his smooth assimilation into the role he was being trained for.

However, only Yvonne who had read the script and also seen Kelvin Brodie being conferred the title of the Duke in her dreams was aware of this truth.

The other members of the St. Claire’s family and also the rest present at the Tanner tea party continued to remain clueless as the Duke had not yet announced his plans.

After Jasper had completed his task of introducing his little brother to the Earl, his entire attention had been focused on the young girl.

Unfortunately, he had made the wrong move as the Earl, after noticing this strange sight, hurried to take his family away from the Tanner estate that afternoon.

Thus the Tanner tea party had come to an end for the St. Claire family with hasty goodbyes.

It wasn’t just Rutherford but Howard too was eager to head back home and thus the two men did not halt until the family of four entered their carriage which began moving at once.

The father and son pair had similar expressions of dissatisfaction as they grumbled all through the few minutes taken for their carriage to reach the St. Claire estate on that day.

Recalling how they had left the tea party, Yvonne rolled her eyes and shot a glance at her father who was seated behind his desk, focusing his attention on the files placed before him.

Right now, the father and daughter pair were busy working on their respective files inside the serene office room of the St. Claire estate.

Howard and the other boys studying at the Royal Academy had headed back the very next day after the tea party had ended as their short vacation had come to an end.

It had been a week since the heir had left so the entire estate had returned to the same monotonous routine it had been following while he was away in the past.

Nevertheless, in just this one week, numerous incidents had taken place, enough to keep Yvonne busy throughout the day.

The one which had garnered the biggest reaction from everyone in the family was the arrival of a certain invitation just a couple of days after the boys had left the Capital.

‘A Royal invitation at that.’ Yvonne exclaimed while also pursing her lips as she was both excited and annoyed after reading what this invitation was all about.

“Vonna, focus on your work.” The Earl, who had noticed his daughter’s inattention as she stared blankly at his face, reprimanded her for lazing around instead of finishing the work that had been piled up on the table before her.

Yvonne snapped out of her thoughts when she heard her father’s reprimanding words.

Glancing down, she stared at the numerous files neatly arranged on the table before nodding slowly, indicating that she would do so.

A few days after the party had ended, the noble society at the Capital had regained its peace as most of the young boys had left for the Royal Academy.

During this period of stillness, a certain incident had thrown Yvonne back into her intensive work schedule as a lot had been placed on her plate.

Previously, she had asked her Uncle Marcus to send the latest creations made by the Hagen family as soon as they were ready.

However, things had been delayed and she had not heard a word from him for a while.

She had been planning to reach out to him but had held back when she heard from her Grandpa that Uncle Marcus was enjoying some quality time with his wife.

With the children and the old man out of the house, the Viscount couple had gotten some much-needed privacy so Yvonne had no desire to disturb them.

Therefore, she had delayed initiating contact with her uncle who had been helping her look after CLOVER’s matters as its base was located in his territory.

Thankfully, when they were preparing for Howard’s return to the Royal Academy, her uncle was the one who had reached out to her.

Using the mental link between their etchers, he had sent her the message that she had been looking forward to, which was also why her work had increased in the last couple of days.
