Chapter 932: The Aftermath Of The Celebration
After the King’s celebration, while everyone headed to their estates, the carriage from the Valente family followed a different path.
That night, as the Capital was enjoying the view of the well-organized firework show displayed each year after the celebration at the Palace, a certain group of youngsters was facing the onslaught of reprimands from their elders.
Yvonne, Knox, and Jax stood in one corner of the Parlor while the remaining members of the St. Claire and Valente families had their narrowed eyes fixed on them.
The stunt these three had worked together for and pulled in the Palace without informing the elders was what had led to this outcome.
Though the result had turned out to be in the little girl’s favor, the elders were nonetheless worried for her sake.
Thus Grandpa Valente, the St. Claire couple, and even Roman shook their heads while shooting them disappointed stares for acting so recklessly.
“But the King liked the present!” A tiny voice of rebuttal was heard in the room which was silenced by the multitude of glares it received in the next second.
.....
Gaining such an intense reaction made Yvonne lower her head, losing her chance to defend herself.
Though the Earl knew that she must have acted only after taking into serious consideration all the aspects that surrounded this grand scheme of hers, he could not help but wonder what could have happened if something had not gone according to her expectations.
Her business and her identity as VC could have been in jeopardy with one wrong move.
No matter how smart she was, she was still a child, and looking out for her was what the adults were supposed to do.
Therefore, Rutherford could only harden his heart as he fixed his unblinking gaze at the three youngsters who had been involved in this matter.
Thus on the night of the King’s celebration, Yvonne received a fitting punishment for acting recklessly without the knowledge of her parents.
It wasn’t just the mastermind who was reprimanded but those who had supported her, namely Knox and Jax, also suffered the same fate as well.
The three of them were confined in separate parts of the St. Claire mansion for the next two weeks as Grandpa Valente and Roman decided to stay here until this punishment period came to an end.
Knox’s art supplies were taken away so the two weeks were the worst for him whereas, Jax was confined in his room in the servant quarters behind the mansion.
A social being like Jax who preferred to be around people was made to ponder over his mistakes, locked inside his room in solitary, even though he had only been following his Boss’ orders.
Finally, Yvonne was asked to spend time in her room with no outside communication.
Since the parents knew that this was something she would prefer, they had to think harder to make this punishment something she would not enjoy.
Therefore, the little girl was not allowed to meet her etcher or anyone else during this period.
The only time she was let out of her room was for her classes with Marquess Samed and Captain Desmo.
A maid was also assigned to watch over the young miss during this time to ensure that she wasn’t able to escape when no one was looking.
Even Roselie and Mrs. Jacinth weren’t allowed to meet the child so her discomfort only rose higher with each passing day.
While the parents and the rest did miss Yvonne and Knox during their meals, they chose to suppress their emotions for the sake of teaching the children a much-needed lesson.
???????????????? ???????????????????????????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????????? ???????? ????????????????????-????????????.????????????
Thus for the next two weeks, those involved in the secret plan that was put into action during the King’s celebration had been confined in their rooms.
Thanks to this, they did not realize that the number of people discussing CLOVER and its intention to join the noble market continued to multiply each day.
With the owner and also the right hand of the business being punished and kept in confinement, no official news from CLOVER could be heard.
This led many to wonder if the words Knox Valente had uttered before the King weren’t entirely true.
Gossip soon began to circulate about the business backing down due to the pressure of catering to the nobles which Rutherford had gotten wind of right from the beginning.
He even knew just who was spreading such baseless rumors in their society but neither did he try to defend CLOVER nor did he retract the order to punish his daughter.
He let these rumors accumulate and simmer, not bothering to deal with them in any way possible.
He was sure that the Marquess who entered his mansion each day must have already informed his daughter about what was happening outside.
Hence the Earl did not focus too much on it as he was confident that his Vonna could tackle this tiny hurdle by herself.
At the same time, he still hoped that she would come to him when she was in trouble lest she did something that could harm her and those around her.
Though he had such thoughts in his mind, he wondered if his daughter would realize why he had punished her and not just hold a grudge against him as she did each time she was grounded in the past.
___
With such doubts in his mind, the two weeks of punishment for everyone involved in what had taken place at the King’s celebration had soon come to an end.
The moment Knox stepped out of his room at the end of the second week, he rushed to embrace his paintbrush that had been taken away from him.
The three punished individuals were brought out of their rooms at the same time and thus had walked together to meet the rest.
Thinking of how he had spent the last two weeks, Knox harrumphed at the thought of his elder brother who supported the elders in their decision to punish him and Yvonne.
He decided that he would ignore Roman and thus went to sit with his little sister rather than paying any attention to his twin once they reached their destination.
Winter had arrived soon after the King’s birthday so right now, the room in which the rest of the family had gathered was one where a warm fireplace had been lit.
Yvonne grumbled inwardly while thinking of how she had missed the chance of visiting the beautiful Lake Poliza which must have frozen over by now.
She had been to that place once and had planned to head over there with her cousins as she had liked the scenery there quite a bit.
Knox had also spoken highly about it in the past and had called it one of the best scenic spots of Amarthea which had increased her desire to visit the lake.
However, that place must have frozen by now, making her frown as she had lost her chance due to the punishment she had received.
Behind Yvonne stood Jax whom she had not seen in the last many days as he too was locked up in a room somewhere in this estate.
Thankfully, the young man wasn’t as annoyed as her but on their way to this room, he assured her that he had enjoyed the paid vacation he had been granted by the Earl himself.
To Jax, the last two weeks had been a time of bliss as all he did was lay in bed and read novels that the other servants had smuggled into his room.
He wasn’t asked to lift even a single finger but was served his meals on time each day.
In this way, Jax had enjoyed every day of his confinement, unlike the two noble children whose life wasn’t as pleasant as his during this time.
Yvonne had chuckled when she heard him whisper those words into her ear before applauding his ability to make the best out of any situation he found himself in.
“Now that you have enjoyed this vacation to your heart’s content, it is time to get some work done.” She smirked and reminded him just as they were about to enter the room where the other elders were already waiting for them.
Though Jax’s spirit dampened at the sound of these words, he straightened his back and nodded as he was ready to accomplish whatever task she assigned to him.
Since the three who had been punished were walking together, Knox was in awe after witnessing this scene.
He admired his sister who was able to bounce back so quickly after being punished and also the servant who was capable of even enjoying confinement.
At the same time, he inwardly praised the rapport between this pair of Master and subordinate which he envied a little.
However, when he thought of the workload his sister had on her shoulders, he was glad that he was not in a place of power but was left to act as he pleased.
He was even grateful that his elder brother was keen on inheriting their father’s title which allowed him to follow what his heart desired and not sit before a mountain load of paperwork like him at all times.
Nevertheless, this sense of gratitude for Roman vanished when he thought of his elder brother not siding with him and even agreeing to punish him.
Hence, this young master harrumphed as they walked to the room where the others awaited them and even rolled his eyes as soon as his gaze fell on the culprit in his mind.
