Chapter 81 - How Will I Find Someone?

When Yvonne heard that her answer was correct, she sank into a deep dilemma about what she should do next.

'An aide like Powell and Limo? That's quite tough now, isn't it?' She surmised when she recalled how these men became the aides in the first place.

While Butler Powell's family had been associated with the St. Claire's for generations, producing the next heir who would be trained to assist the heir of the St. Claire family.

The situation with Butler Limo vastly varied from that of Butler Powell

Butler Limo was just a young man when he was saved by her father, the then knight in training.

Due to his exceedingly pleasing face, Limo had been abducted by human traffickers who were trying to sell him off to a high paying prostitution racket.

Yes, even in this world the practice of human trafficking and prostitution was running rampant.

But a savior would appear in the future and would be the key presence in staunchly abolishing this bane from society.

'Hilda, the admirable female lead with her ever trustworthy sidekick, Draco Roschester, were the ones who made this herculean task look like a piece of cake.' Yvonne scoffed while thinking of them.

The two people whom she wished to never meet were also the ones who had done the most work for the good of society.

'But it is mostly Hilda saying the word and then the Grand Duke running like a puppy to obey her commands.' She rolled her eyes at that man whose very breath was also meant for the female lead.

Coming back to her thoughts about how Limo became the butler of their family, Yvonne sighed.

After he was saved by the young knight in training, the young man Limo vowed to devote his life to serving the man to whom he owed his life.

'A little melodramatic and I doubt whether there is anyone in this world who would be willing to give up everything they wished to do just to follow someone who had saved them.' She refused to believe in such a thing ever happening in real life.

'I'm sure Asmodeus had some part to play in this as well.' She accused that nosy god of poking his beak in this matter as well.

However, she was wrong this time as what had happened to Limo had a huge impact on him and the one who saved him became his Lord with no questions asked.

Rutherford tried to shoo him away on multiple occasions but the man stuck to him like glue.

Having left with no other choices, Rutherford sent him to his fief to train under his father's aide.

There Limo spent hellish years training to become the perfect aide he is today while his master, Rutherford spent his years, training in the capital.

They both united once again when the patriarch of the St.Claire's family had forbidden his son from pursuing his dreams.

Rutherford hated everyone related to his family which also included his aide who would be his right hand in the heir responsibilities.

Yet, Limo never stopped trying to claw his way into Rutherford's good books and finally succeeded.

Until now, the two men have a close and trusting bond despite their vast age difference.

'How the hell will I find someone who will be willing to do everything that Limo did for father?' She lamented her bitter luck.

Noticing her dilemma, Sullivan chuckled as he packed his stuff up since their three hours were done.

"Either you can try looking for someone worthy of being by your side or you can ask the Earl to find one for you." He mentioned offhandedly, knowing that both had their pros and cons.

'If I try to find someone… Where would I even begin my search?' She cried out and felt like pulled her hair out.

It was a brilliant stroke of luck that Rutherford had found someone as loyal as Limo in this world filled with treacherous snakes.

Snakes who wouldn't think twice before biting the hand that saved them from the thorny bushes in their moment of despair.

Hence, the pessimistic and skeptical Yvonne instantly rejected that idea.

Now she was left with only one option and that was her father.

'He threw a fit when I asked for a trainer… How will he react when I tell him that I want an aide to take over the heir responsibilities in the future?' She imagined that scenario and shuddered.

The promise that Rutherford had made to Yvonne of thinking about her proposition of handling Howard's duties until he fulfilled his dreams was what was giving Yvonne the courage to even think about discussing this matter with him.

Still, she could not imagine what Howard would do if he realized that she was serious about what she had planned to do.

Marquess Samed looked at her gloomy and conflicted face and for a change, he decided to show mercy towards his prized pupil.

"You are still young and don't have to rush to find someone right this instant." He comforted her while patting her soft head.

He was fascinated looking at the little buns on the top of her head that swayed every time he patted her.

'What does he think I am, a bunny at the petting zoo?' she scowled and elegantly leaned away from his hand.

Sullivan came back to his senses when he noticed the space where her head was supposed to be was now empty.

"I will also keep my eye out for someone who can fill in that spot." He offered and Yvonne's earlier annoyance faded away.

Marquess Samed did not want to give her false hopes so he made sure to let her know about it.

"This does not guarantee that I will find someone for you and even if I did, how sure are you that your father will agree to it?" He remarked and then left her with these parting words.

'I need to prepare a detailed report about the loophole in the medical policy before I meet with the King.' He reckoned before leaving the room.

Yvonne watched as he left in a hurry and she too decided to head back to her room to gather her thoughts.

Securely holding the folder that Marquess Samed had brought for her, she walked beside her nanny and then entered her bedroom.

___

Inside her room, Yvonne sat by her window which overlooked the pond in their estate.

Mrs. Jacinth had helped her change into fresh clothes and now with her hair falling loose over her shoulders, she sat with the folder on her lap.

Twirling a strand of her dark violet hair, she chomped on the carrot pieces that her mother sent as snacks every day after her classes.

As she had the rest of the day free to do as she pleased, Yvonne utilized this time to contemplate the original plot of the story.

In the script that Asmodeus had sent to her company, the main character development that the female lead of the story undergoes is during the plague that was yet to come.

'If things go according to how they did in the script then soon the female lead will face a life-altering change.' She pondered over the story arc while shaking her head in disapproval.

This change would turn her world upside down and throw her peaceful life into chaos and distress.

As she had read in the script, even Hilda's small town which was located in the southern part of Rosenhyde was affected by the plague.

The nearest major hospital was in the fief of Baron Wescott which was already catering to the large populous in their fief.

Hence people had nowhere to go even if they could arrange for transportation to the hospital.

There were doctors in each town by the problem laid with the lack of a hospital, a sterile space to treat the patients in.

'Here enters our cute fluffy-haired female lead, Hilda with her parents.' Yvonne recalled the next parts of the story.

When an elderly doctor had come up with the idea of turning a large store into a makeshift hospital, Hilda's parents objected to it.

They debated that their little inn already had a kitchen and all the necessities for lodging the patients in their establishment.

The town elders were grateful for their generous offer and instantly transferred all the patients to two such inns which were a few miles away from each other.

For weeks, Hilda assisted her parents to look after the comfortable stay of the patients.

The elders had promised that the medical relief provided by the capital city would soon arrive.

However, due to the harsh summer and the horrible state of the roads, the relief team was immensely delayed.

By the time they had reached the town where Hilda stayed, a quarter of the patients in the Cozy Inn had expired.

When they finally arrived at their inn, Hilda's relief for the patient's well being soon turned to despair when her parents were also diagnosed with the plague.

Hilda did not lose hope and she accompanied the relief team to the fief of Baron Wescott where the major hospital accepted her parents as patients.

She worked hard along with the other volunteers to serve the patients in the hospital while attending to her parents as well.

Sadly, no matter how many antidotes they were administered, their bodies could not withstand the damage that the plague had already caused to their organs.

Thus one morning, when she went to greet her parents, Hilda found them in adjacent beds, holding each other's hands which had already gotten cold and stiff.
