Chapter 140 - New And Improved Home

"It's fine… He won't harm you." Yvonne giggled as she moved closer towards Raylene.

After the adults had finished their conversation, Yvonne decided that it was time to get them acquainted with her etcher.

'I am speaking as though I have known Demon for ages.' She snickered which sounded just like a giggle, covering her sarcastic thoughts in a veil of cuteness.

Rutherford stood at the side as he was not worried for himself but was worried about the safety of his daughter.

But the same could not be said for Raylene who would not let go of his sleeve once he returned to her side.

Captain Desmo Reel had to leave before the next tutor arrived to maintain the secret about her class and hence at this moment, the family of three with the etcher were the only ones standing before the entrance of the mansion.

Yvonne had made up with the horse after noticing its cute and adorable appearance when he thought that his master was mad at him.

If the adults present were to hear her associating this monstrous horse with the words 'cute' and 'adorable' then they would have certainly thought that something was wrong with their child.

Though Yvonne would never have cared about what they thought as long as they did not forbid her from staying with her new pet.

When she noticed that Rutherford was standing still without showing any signs of fear toward the horse, she sighed in relief.

The person next to him made that sigh of relief turned into a sigh of exasperation.

The young lady who was the Madam of this estate was holding onto her husband's hand and cowering as she hid behind the sturdy back of the man.

'I need them to become friendly. If even one person is repulsed by Demon then it might make things hard later on.' She believed and decided to get them close to each other.

She was sure of this as the same had happened when her brother Vince had expressed his desires to raise a pet bunny when he was a child.

Grandpa Leo despised cuddly woodland creatures and deemed them worthy of being shooting targets and nothing else.

Despite the continual rejections, when Vince had sneaked a bunny into the house, Grandpa Leo instructed Butler Powell that the fluffy creature would be thrown into the woods to be food for the predators that lived there.

'Ruthless as always!' Yvonne shuddered lightly as she broke free from the daze that she was in for the last few seconds.

The cold war between them after that incident had not ended till the day she died and moved to this world.

Though Demon was not a fluffy bunny that can be picked up and tossed into the woods, she did not wish for anyone to be annoyed with him or hate him.

Thus when Yvonne noticed that her mother feared the beast, she determined to get them to know each other better.

As her tiny feet moved ahead, Raylene's legs moved in the backward direction.

However, Raylene would soon know that her husband was the biggest traitor of them all.

"Papa, hold Mama!" Yvonne's command was immediately obeyed as strong arms encircled Raylene's slender waist.

No matter how she struggled, this husband of hers would not let go of her.

Not having any other choices, she decided that it would be best if she could just stand still like a statue with her eyes closed.

Yvonne rolled her eyes upon observing this cowardly action of hers and glanced over her shoulder to take a peek at Demon.

A simple nod of the head was sufficient for the etcher to understand what his master wished for.

While Raylene remained in Rutherford's arms with her eyes sealed shut, Demon had taken a few steps and moved closer.

The copper-haired woman flinched when she felt someone touching her but soon her body relaxed when she realized that such a soft touch could only belong to her daughter.

Rutherford smiled as he watched in silence while their beloved child raised her mother's hand and placed it on the etcher's muzzle.

The slight dampness made Raylene freeze as she knew that this wasn't her child anymore but the beast that she was terrified about.

Demon did not like it when Raylene touched his head but he ignored the discomfort he felt as this was the first command that his master had given to him.

'Oh… So you don't like it when others touch you?' The little girl was quite perceptive of the etcher's emotions at this moment.

Now that she was aware that her pet did not like it when others touched him, she guided her mother's hand away from the horse's head.

Demon let out a thankful neigh which made Raylene open her eyes.

The beast was even larger when up close but the mother refused to cower in fear any longer as she continued to look at the beast.

"My Ray is so brave! She deserves a treat!" Rutherford whispered in her ear which further eased her anxiety.

Though it made the child who had heard those words to feel a sudden nauseous feeling.

'Is she your pet puppy that you will give her a treat for doing something right!?' She sneered at her father and then took a step away from the cringy couple.

Demon was least bothered about the man and woman as he was being granted with the best of pats and chin rubs for his obedient behavior.

The longer Rayllene stared at her daughter playing with the etcher, she began to feel the fear for the massive beast to fade away a little.

Though the fear was still evident in her trembling eyes, it wasn't as bad as when she had first looked into those blood-red eyes which had terrified her.

"I shall get a new stable prepared." Rutherford's voice made them turn in his direction.

Yvonne tilted her head to the side as she stared at him, confusion apparent in her eyes.

'Why a new stable? Don't we already have one?' She wondered and pointed her finger in the direction that they had come from earlier.

The father seemed to have understood what she was trying to gesture and then chuckled.

"Looks like my Vonna does not love her etcher enough to get a new and spacious home for him." He shook his head in defeat as he disclosed the reason for the new stable.

Hearing these words, the etcher and the etched had the same reaction to it.

The wide eyes and the immediate shake of their heads made the St. Claire couple have a good laugh at their expense.

'New and improved home for my new pet? Yes, please!' Yvonne's excitement was great as she pictured a large stable for her large pet.

"Butler Limo shall get it prepared at the earliest." He acknowledged their answers and did not tease them any longer.

"Yes, Master." The Butler's answer startled Yvonne.

'Where did he pop up from?' She wondered as she stared at him with her eyes popping out of their sockets.

The faithful and efficient butler had been worried about his young miss and had stationed himself on the other side of the main entrance.

'No, I was not peeping at them!' He appeased his consciousness that he had not done anything wrong as his actions had made things easier for his master now.
