Chapter 147 - Come Back Home Safe

"Sire, that is a dangerous ledge you are standing upon. Please step down from there." Butler Limo urged the man who was standing on a ledge of the window as he peeped outside.

Rutherford St. Claire, the master of the worried and terrified butler, turned around and shot the older man a fierce glare.

"I am trying to see, so stay silent!" He commanded, leaving the servant without any choice but to stay mum.

Butler Limo clenched and relaxed his fists as he prayed for the safety of the man who was willing to do everything he could for his child.

'I still cannot see them!' Rutherford glowered as he tried hard to peek further.

The butler felt that his heart would burst out of his chest when he witnessed how his master had almost slipped from the ledge where he stood.

The huge drop would have caused Rutherford to lose his life if he had not managed to catch hold of the window which was right next to him.

'That was close!' He sighed as he decided that it was time to move away from this dangerous ledge.

Once he had reentered the room, Butler Limo passed him a clean napkin with which he wiped his hands clean before handing it over to his servant.

Glaring at the distant green scenery, he sneered and then looked away.

The reason for his reckless feat of stepping on the ledge from which he had almost fallen to the ground below and the reason for his glare was the fact that he was missing his child's first horse riding lesson.

When Howard had first requested to learn how to ride a horse, it was Rutheford who had taken him to choose his mount and also taught him how to ride and control the horse.

However, he did not get to even witness his daughter doing the same as he had been forbidden from being found anywhere near her during her classes with Captain Desmo Reel.

'He is doing this on purpose as a petty form of vengeance for the letter I had sent earlier.' He declared while gnashing his teeth at that horrendous friend of his.

Though he knew that his friend would make sure that nothing untoward would happen with Yvonne, he was nonetheless worried as a father's worries would never end.

'I hope that she is alright and is doing well with that etcher as her ride.' He hoped and prayed that she would stay safe as she took her first class.

The incident in their summer house was still overshadowing his mind like a dark cloud on a sunny day which was making his fears to increase.

Thus he had decided to take a secret look at the grazing field where Desmo could have taken Yvonne to teach her how to manage her etcher.

Sadly, he could neither find any trace of his friend nor could he see his daughter anywhere around that area.

'Come back home safe, Vonna!' He wished in his heart and soon left the room.

Looking at the dejected back of the father who had left with his shoulders slumped, Butler Limo sighed as he too was worried for his young miss and then soon followed after his master.

___

Inside the woods that were situated behind the mansion at a short distance from Demon's new stable.

The two horses ambled next to each other as their masters sat on the saddles secured over their backs.

Yvonne took in a deep breath as the fresh and cozy breeze swirled around them.

They had made their way into this part of the woods as Captain Desmo mentioned that he wished to start their training with an uneven terrain.

'What's the use of learning how to ride a horse on a leveled ground?' He had scoffed which had elicited an eager nod from the child.

Once Yvonne had acquainted herself with being on top of her etcher, it did not take long for her to handle the reins of her horse.

'This feels great!' She had exclaimed while riding along at a high pace before her trainer could instruct her to do so.

Captain Desmo was amazed to see that the child who had displayed signs of fear a few moments ago was now riding ahead at such a high pace.

His enthusiasm at teaching her was renewed as he commanded his Precious to catch up with them.

Though Demon could run faster than Precious and she would have had a tough time trying to catch up to the mighty etcher, she had managed to do so easily.

The only reason for this was that Demon had not used his true speed even when Yvonne was urging him to do so.

Such a tiny child on his back, riding at his full potential made him worried as he did not wish for her to fall off his back.

After Captain Desmo Reel and his Precious had managed to catch up with Demon and Yvonne, the older man had suggested that they enter the woods for the next ride.

Just as they had entered a deeper part of the woods, Rutherford had climbed on top of a ledge of a window that had the view of the backyard where the stables were.

Unfortunately, he had arrived at his viewing station late as Yvonne and her trainer along with the etchers had already left that area a few minutes ago.

Now as Yvonne rode with Demon at a moderate pace as Precious and Desmo kept up with them, she felt alive and well again.

'I need more of this in my life!' She demanded while closing her eyes to feel the breeze on her face.

Captain Desmo's eyes widened in shock and surprise when he noticed this absolutely reckless behavior of his student.

"What do you think that you're doing!? Open your eyes and pay close attention to the path that you are on!" He snarled at her and hoped that she would heed his words.

Yvonne turned in his direction as she narrowed her eyes.

'What is his problem!?' She wondered as she shot him a questioning glance.

"It is your duty to watch the path and instruct your horse to move accordingly!" He lectured the seemingly ignorant student.

'Here I was thinking that I had encountered a natural horse rider but it seems that she is still lacking in many areas.' He surmised after observing her oblivious look.

Yvonne's lessons and experience of riding horses in her previous life was brilliantly mistaken as her being a natural horse rider by her trainer.

Even if the child were to hear his thoughts, she would not have done anything to clear this misunderstanding as that would cause more confusion than what was already there.

"Isn't Demon an etcher? He can watch the path and move accordingly even if I do not!" She retorted with a defiant look on her face.

Captain Desmo Reel was appalled to hear her overconfident words and this made him scoff at her.

"Does that mean you would allow your etcher to do all the work while you rest?" He interrogated with a stern and fierce appearing on his face.
