'I should not have offered to continue with our shopping spree!' The little girl cried out in her heart as she stared at her mother.
The woman who was analyzing which piece of jewelry to buy while holding onto her daughter's little arm did not observe the weird expression on her face.
It had been 2 hours and three stores that they had visited and Raylene did not utter a single word about returning home.
This caused the child to be utterly defeated as all she wished to do was get back home and sleep.
She had already gotten habituated to her daily schedule and this was the time for her to take her afternoon naps.
The constant yawns that she was stifling finally caught her mother's attention who patted her head.
Yvonne's eyes brightened when she noticed that they were about to leave this store as Raylene was paying the owner for the jewelry that she had bought.
The packages were sent to the mansion just like the earlier stores and the three women left the store one after the other.
'We finally get to go home!' She celebrated in her heart as she walked out of the door.
This time, Raylene did not insist on carrying her but held her hand to make sure that she did not run away in any direction that she wished.
Yvonne's excitement faded away when she saw the direction in which they were moving was not towards the carriage.
'No no! This is not the right way!' She looked up at her mother with troubled eyes as she tugged on her hand.
Raylene chuckled when she noticed these actions and pointed at the store that they had arrived at.
"Aren't you hungry, Vonny?" She inquired as she smiled at the little girl whose eyes were fixed on the store ahead of them.
Rows of cakes and trays filled with cookies were visible through the glass wall that was standing tall before them.
Seats that were filled by just a few while the rest remained vacant was what she observed upon scanning the place.
The soft grumble coming from her stomach made Raylene chuckle as she patted her daughter's head and led her towards the door of the cafe that they were looking at until now.
This time, Yvonne did not complain about not going back home and had even forgotten about her sleep schedule as she followed her mother like the obedient child that she was.
However, just as they were about to enter the cafe which displayed its delectable goodies, a voice coming from behind stopped them in their tracks.
"Miss Yvonne!" The loud and excited voice made the St. Claire women turn around to see who it was that had yelled out the little girl's name.
'Who is screeching like a banshee!?' Yvonne scowled as she narrowed her eyes while fixing her gaze in the direction of the voice.
The curious and slightly annoyed look in her eyes faded when she recognized who had called her out.
Coming in their direction were two little girls followed by two older women.
Yvonne knew one of them while the other was a stranger to her as she had never seen that person before.
"Hello, Miss Yvonne." The little girl at the front smiled as she greeted her.
Yvonne smiled and greeted the newcomer with the perfect etiquettes that had been taught to her.
"Glad to see that you are fine, Miss Kiron." She mentioned and the other girl giggled with a nod.
The newcomer who had yelled Yvonne's name was none other than the youngest daughter of Marquess Kiron's family, Rika Kiron.
The first and only time that Yvonne had met her was at the tea party in their house.
The girls had competed for the position of the Princess' playmate even though Yvonne was least interested in taking up that offer.
Through a lot of twists and turns, the enmity and hostility that Rika had shown towards her had ended when she had promised that she was not best suited to accompany the Princess in her studies.
'I heard from Marquess Samed that she has successfully been accepted by the King to study alongside Princess Felicia, that brat.' Yvonne nodded when she recalled this information she had received from her tutor.
Rika widened her eyes as though she had realized something and then turned towards the little girl who was next to her.
This action of hers made Yvonne also turn her sights towards the same person.
Bright auburn hair which made it seem as though there were embers on her head, olive-colored irises held within sharp eyes, and a pretty face with delicate features.
This was what Yvonne noticed upon taking in the view of the little girl standing next to Rika Kiron.
'They look like maids.' She speculated after scanning the women who were following these two little girls.
When Yvonne's eyes turned towards the gaze that she felt on her, she was met with those olive eyes that seemed to be fixed on her amethyst ones.
'What is her problem?' She wondered and flashed her smile to not appear rude.
Rika stepped between them and alternated to smile at them both.
"Miss Yvonne, meet my friend, Miss Glennise." She introduced the stranger to Yvonne who nodded at first but soon froze.
'What did she just call her!?' The little girl's eyes widened as she was taken by surprise at the name that she had just heard.
Since that name was one that belonged to someone she needed to stay away from at all costs.
"Miss Glennise is also a playmate for Princess Felicia, just like I am." Rika added in order to not have any confusion during this introduction.
These words only increased the anxiety and annoyance in Yvonne's heart as now any hopes of this being a different Glennise had been dashed away.
'Glennise Brodie…' That name echoed in her mind as she stared at the girl standing before her.
While Rika turned towards Glennise to introduce who Yvonne was, the little girl herself was lost in her thoughts.
'The main villainess of this story who stopped at nothing to hinder the relationship between the main leads, Prince Fritzen and Hilda.' She recalled the real identity of this little girl who stood before her.
It appeared as though Rika had completed introducing her while she was still contemplating her situation as Glennise looked at her and nodded.
"Nice to meet you, Miss St. Claire." A soft and mellow voice left the lips of the 'villainess' that Yvonne had read all about in Asmodeus' script.
All Yvonne could do in reply was to nod and curtsy at the girl from a higher noble family to show her respect.
While she was still in her thoughts, she heard the daughter from the Duke's family mutter a few words to her.
"So Miss St. Claire is the one who had refused to study alongside me and the Royal Princess. Isn't she a bold one?" She uttered and then smiled at Rika whose smile had frozen at hearing these words.
The subtle jab in those words was meant for both Yvonne and Rika alike as one had refused the position meant for her and the other had received it because no one else was eligible for it.
{The woman who did not spare the people who crossed her and destroyed those who went against her.}
Yvonne gulped when she recalled this sentence that she had read in the script that was used to describe Glennise Brodie's personality.
'Why did I meet her here!?' She lamented in her mind but could not let her thoughts appear on her face.
