Chapter 311 - Perfect Opportunity To Execute Her Plan

Standing outside the door of the dining hall, Butler Limo fretted about the conversation that might be happening inside right now.

The Young Miss had let him in on her plan which would need his aid to expose the nasty thoughts of the maid.

She also revealed that she would be speaking to the Master at dinner and she might have already initiated that conversation.

Therefore, while he hoped that she succeeded in gaining the Master's permission to advance in her plans, he also prayed wholeheartedly that nothing went wrong on that fateful day.

'Keep this family safe, God Asmodeus!' He cried out in his heart for the happy family which should never be broken under any circumstances.

Inside the Dining Hall, the family of three sat next to each other as they ate their meal in silence.

Rutherford was deep in his thoughts about how the citizens of his fief might have received the new reforms he had made according to his daughter's advice.

Raylene was mulling over what she should do tomorrow to keep herself busy from her troubling thoughts.

Finally, their little daughter, Yvonne was figuring out how she could bring up the topic that had been on her mind into their conversation which was non-existent right now.

'Every day they keep talking but when I have something to share, they decide to remain silent.' She rolled her eyes while gazing at the peas on her plate.

Looking up, she concluded that she would have to initiate the conversation and cleared her throat.

The parents glanced at the source of the sound and found that their daughter was alternating her gaze between the two of them.

Rutherford smiled at her and Raylene nodded, encouraging her to speak what was on her mind.

Smiling in return, the little girl placed her silverware down and looked at them in all seriousness.

"I miss Big Brother." She announced while pouting her lips.

This statement caused them to be stunned but they too shared a similar feeling about this matter.

"Vonna, Howard's classes have increased this year. He needs to stay back more often than before." The father tried to explain why their son had not been able to return even on weekends.

The curriculum taught at the Royal Academy would only increase with each year and right now Howard was in the early stages of the intensive training that the students there received.

Swordsmanship, archery, close combat battle, wilderness training were just a few of the outdoor classes they had to train each day.

This was happening in tandem with their usual classes which consisted of economics, polity, management of fiefs, and other businesses which were necessary skills for their future.

This was also the reason why he had been so exhausted the first week he had returned.

During the day, the boys only had lunch hour to rest in but he used that hour to practice as soon as he would complete eating.

It was no wonder that the St. Claire boy was tired as he had to sit through the journey on the terrible roads that led them back to Amarthea after going through such intensive training.

Though he had offered to return often and did not complain about this, he was tired nonetheless.

This matter was not known to either Yvonne or her mother but the exhaustion on Howard's face had exhibited his weary state.

Therefore, now that Rutherford had decided to reveal this matter to them, they were shocked and felt even worse.

'My baby works so hard! I hope he is healthy even if he doesn't come home often.' The worried mother prayed for his health as that was the most important matter to her.

On the other hand, the little girl was both worried and jealous after hearing about the classes that her elder brother was taking part in.

'I want to learn those as well!' She grumbled as the disparity in the education between the girls and the boys was truly wide.

However, now was not the time for her to whine and cry about what she was denied in this world.

She had a task to accomplish so she decided to get to it without wasting any more time.

"He will be back when he is not busy with his classes." Raylene added when she noticed the furrowed brows on her daughter's forehead.

The mother had misunderstood her expressions which would soon be corrected.

"If Brother Howard cannot come to meet us, why don't we go meet him at the Academy?" The little girl tilted her head as she placed her thoughts before them.

Rutherford paused the coaxing words that he was about to say and pondered on what she had expressed.

His silence was ignored as Yvonne's eyes were on the person whose agreement she needed the most.

'Don't you want to meet your baby boy? This way you get to meet him and I get to execute my plan back at the Mansion.' She smiled to conceal her smirk which had formed on her lips at the thought of her secret plan behind this suggestion.

One reason for doing so was to let her mother meet the young boy she was desperate to meet and the other, the main reason was to reveal the thoughts hidden in the maid's mind.

At the thought of the maid, she glanced at her father from the corner of her eyes.

Her smile widened when she saw that there weren't any indications that showed that he was against her idea.

"Can we go meet him, Ruthy!?" Raylene pleaded while batting her eyelashes to increase the effect she had on her husband.

Rutherford knew just how much his wife was missing their child and how she sometimes wept at being away from him for such a long period of time.

Only this year did Howard start staying back at the dormitory in the Academy so the change was too much for her to take all at once.

The fact that he had not even returned when the second month at the Academy had come to an end was another reason for her to be disheartened.

Therefore, now that he looked at her imploring eyes and his daughter's expectant eyes, he did not know how to reject them.

"Family members are allowed to visit the boys over the weekends." He sighed before revealing this information to them.

This statement implied that they could go and visit Howard but it would have to be over the weekend.

Raylene and Yvonne had similar smiles which curved upward at this good news which worked in their favor.

The mother would get to meet her son while the daughter would get the perfect opportunity to execute her plan without any hindrances.

With her head lowered, the little girl smirked as she picked her silverware once again.

"I will take the two of you to meet him this Sunday." Rutherford's next words made her frown as she looked up.

He was the main protagonist of her scheme so she needed him to stay back instead of coming along with them to the Academy.

'Your presence is needed here and not with us!' She glowered but pressed down her anger as she tried to find an appropriate explanation to reject his accompaniment.

This trip needed to be made with just the two of them.

According to her plans, her father, his Butler, and the maid needed to be in the Mansion to gain the outcome that she desired.

Therefore, she could not allow him to come along with them at any cost.

'Think! Think of something to stop him from coming with us!' She urged her mind to figure something out at the earliest.

Under no circumstance could she let this opportunity slide away hence she dived deep into her thoughts to come up with a way to keep him here.

A memory from a few days ago popped into her mind which caused her eyes to brighten in excitement which she had to curb before she could talk to him.

Blinking her wide amethyst eyes, Yvonne stared at her father with blatant confusion apparent in them.

"Papa, didn't you say that you have a lot of work this weekend?" She reminded him about the grumbling talks he had indulged in during their lunch a few days ago.

Rutherford's face fell when he remembered that she was right.

The work in their fief was going on in full swing which meant that he needed to work harder to look after the accounts and the budget needed for the construction of the new clinic and the recruitment of more physicians.

Noticing his expressions, Yvonne secretly rejoiced that she had a workaholic for a father who would not be able to enjoy himself without completing the work piled up before him.

"Should we reschedule?" Raylene proposed as she knew that her husband also wished to meet their son.

'No! Why!?' Yvonne's eyes widened at her words which would destroy the plans that she had thought up.

The sooner they finish this, the better it would be.

This weekend would be perfect for this scheme as any longer and she might not be able to use the excuse she had grabbed to make them follow her ideas.

'What will we do if Howard misses us too and decides to return the following weekend?' She shook her head as that would without a doubt wreck her plans.

If they could not visit him this weekend and Howard did return the following weekend then they would have to wait for longer to expose the maid which she was not willing to do.

Therefore, she looked up at her father with pouting lips and a sad look on her face.

"Do we have to wait longer to meet Big Brother?" She whispered in a soft, aggrieved voice that pricked her father's loving heart.
