After Rutherford revealed the identity of the only person who could help them find the family who had been wronged by the middle brother and Earl Blaise alike, he did not speak much as this was a depressing topic for him.
Yvonne curbed her snickers when she found her father to be genuinely upset with the things that had taken place in their past.
However, there was not much she could do to console him so she decided to stick to the things that she could do.
"We need to find out the current whereabouts of that family." She spoke, breaking the silence in the room.
Rutherford snapped out of his stupor and nodded along with her but soon paused.
"Why?" He questioned as she had not yet revealed what her plans were.
Thinking of something, the father shook his head while shooting her a stern look.
"If you are thinking of selling soap to the citizens in order to get back at the Earl then I will have to stop you before you get any more absurd thoughts." He chided her for even thinking about such a thing.
Earl Blaise held the sole rights of the manufacturing process of the soaps he sold, therefore, for Yvonne to try and imitate his product for commercial sales would land her in much trouble with the law.
Yvonne smiled after noticing the concern her father had for her safety and shook her head.
"I will not get in trouble, Papa." She stated with conviction that Howard who was sitting next to her raised his brows.
"So Papa's speculation was right? You plan on selling soaps?" He interrogated and this time, the little girl nodded her head.
Not only was this her plan of getting revenge from the Earl and his family who had tried to harm her and her family but it was also her way of trying to solve a major crisis the Kingdom was facing as of this moment.
"The Earl increased his prices just when the commoners began to buy them thanks to the King's commands of better sanitation." She revealed why she had come up with this plan.
The King's commands were being followed everywhere.
The people were willing to improve their health conditions by taking proper care of themselves and their surroundings.
However, the value of soap being increased to a higher price had become a stumbling block for them.
While Yvonne was trying to teach the Earl and his family a lesson, she was also thinking of the plague that was on its way.
'In less than 8 months, the first case of the plague will surface.' She recalled the timeline of the script she had read.
Therefore, she had come up with a plan to find a way to make this simple commodity of soap available to everybody.
The item of luxury that Earl Blaise had publicized his product as, was the reason why it was so scarce and hard for the general populace to purchase and utilize.
Her plan was simple.
'Find a way to make soap and sell it at cheaper prices to make it available to everyone.' She summarized her plan that she had come up with for a while now.
This way, she would be doing a good deed to the public while making money for herself and also creating competition for Earl Blaise's business.
However, her father was also right in worrying that there would be repercussions of epic proportions if she tried to imitate the product for which Earl Blaise had the sole ownership.
"I have a plan for that as well, Papa. So all I need is to find the family who first made the soap and then everything would be resolved." She reassured the man who continued to stare down at her.
Rutherford knew that his daughter was a smart child but this time, she was thinking of meddling with something that had the Royal Seal of the King stamped on it.
Thus, his reluctance was valid and even necessary.
"Tell me what your plan is first. Only then will I think about contacting your uncle." He remained stubborn for her sake.
'When did she become so brave?' He wondered and was equally worried about what she had in mind.
The wicked grin on his child's face only increased his fears for the 'plan' that she had in mind.
"What if we make soap… Without using the method that the middle brother sold to Earl Blaise?" She inquired with the same smile settling on her face.
The father and brother were confused at first but when she began to explain her thoughts, they paid attention to her every word.
"The Earl holds ownership of 'one' method of making soap. What if there's more than one way to do it?" She questioned them while rubbing her chin like an old man.
She did not know much about the process the Earl was using to make his soap, however, she was sure that there would be more than just one way to create it.
This was why she needed to meet the family of the soap makers.
'They would surely know how to tweak the original method and manufacture the soap.' She nodded as there was always a way to sneak around the rules.
Even in her old world, patented works weren't always safe from copyright infringements.
A simple tweak in the patented formula was enough to make an imitation and stay away from any legal litigations.
'Since Earl Blaise did not mind profiting from something that was stolen from the original owners then he shouldn't mind when the same is done to him.' She sneered at the wicked businessman.
It was true that he was also scammed by the middle brother but he forced the original creators to halt their work and even threatened them with death sentences when he found out that they were the true owners of the products.
Therefore, Yvonne's plan was to make the man taste his own medicine.
"If we can meet the real creators, we could find out if there was another way to make the soap and sell it at a lower price to everyone." She revealed her entire plan to them.
Step one was to convince her father to get on board with her plan.
The next would be to contact their uncle and request his help to locate the family of soap makers.
Meeting them would help her figure out a way to bypass the legal document that their middle brother had signed with Earl Blaise.
Once they found a plausible solution to this issue, she could offer them a mutually benefitting contract, unlike what the Earl had signed with the wicked middle brother.
The final step would be to start manufacturing and distributing the soap to everyone in their Kingdom.
'We need to ensure that everyone can gain a good amount of the product before the plague hits us.' She was determined to make this possible as many lives would be at stake during the plague.
When Howard and Rutherford heard her plan, they did not respond immediately but took their time to mull over the entire matter.
If there was a way to not break the law while creating and selling the soap, that would be the best possible solution to the crisis that they were facing right now.
"That… seems like an appropriate strategy to deal with the issue at hand." The Earl answered after his short silence.
The little girl's face lit up when she realized that her father did not dismiss her plan but appeared to be on board with what she had thought.
"Are you sure that you won't get in trouble?" Howard inquired once again as that was his biggest worry here.
His little sister was certainly brave and stubborn at times so it was his duty to ensure that she did not do anything that would potentially harm her in any way possible.
Yvonne smiled at her elder brother and nodded again.
"As long as the real owners have a way to change the original recipe, we should be fine." She reassured him that her plan wouldn't get anyone in trouble.
Rutherford was relieved to see that his son was concerned about the little girl's safety.
However, there was another thought in his head which had just popped up.
"Vonna, the St. Claire's business does not deal in this area." He reminded her that their family business held expertise in a different sector.
In response, the little girl giggled before she sat upright and her demeanor turned serious.
"Papa, I am ready to talk about my future plans of starting my own business." She disclosed the main purpose of her visit to the Office room.
