Thanks to Yvonne's suggestion of improving the state of the transport system in the Kingdom and also the trade routes that she had designed for Marquess Samed, her journey back to Amarthea was a smooth one.
Upon their return to the St. Claire Mansion in the Capital, the family and the servants who had accompanied them on this journey rested for the entire day.
Only on the next morning were they seen going about their usual chores.
When Butler Limo heard the news of the newcomer who would receive training under him, he was confused at first but complied as it was his Master's instruction.
'Master is allowing this young boy to serve Miss closely?' He wondered if there was something amiss here.
His questions were answered when the Earl called him into the Office where he was given additional orders.
"Train him the best that you can." Rutherford's stern words followed by the scary glint that flashed in his eyes allowed the Butler to comprehend what his Master's true desires were.
While Butler Limo was preparing the most rigorous and difficult training module for the young boy who had appeared in their mansion, that same young boy was standing before Yvonne right now.
"Are you prepared?" The little girl asked the boy with murky green hair and excellent features.
Right now they were inside Demon's stable and Jax, the newcomer was helping her fill the horse's water trough.
This used to be her secret hideout to converse with Butler Limo and discuss their strategies but now, she had brought Jax to this place as well.
If Butler Limo who was deciding how to train Jax were to hear of this then the old man would only increase his workload.
Though for now, Jax was safe as he glanced at the little girl standing before him.
"I chose to follow you so I will do my best." He declared as he had already come a long way from the place that he had been staying for the past three months.
He had seen how well the servants in this place were living.
Work was not too tough and they received good lodging, food and even frequent pay raises.
The money was already tempting enough and the room that he was assigned to was multiple times better than the broken thatched cottage that he had found in the woods which served as his home in the past.
Therefore, he had no intention of leaving, at least for this moment.
'In order to stay here, I have to prove my worth.' He clenched his fists because he knew that the odds were against him.
While the rest of the servants and even this little girl and the Madame of the house treated him well, the Earl and his son were against Jax's entry into the St. Claire staff.
This could only mean that the Butler who would train him from tomorrow would also not be lenient towards him.
"Work hard and once you win their approval, they will not be as hostile to you as they are now." Yvonne's soft voice echoed in the stable.
This statement made Jax widen his eyes as he had thought that she was oblivious to his situation.
However, it now seemed that she was aware and had come to caution him.
'I had to win their approval too so I know that he has to do the same.' She shook her head at his astonished face.
She had to pass Captain Desmo's test, her brother's assessment, and even win her father's trust in order to gain their support in whatever she decided to accomplish.
Therefore, she was sure that things did not come easy in this world.
Just like she had to work towards her goals, Jax would also have to do the same.
"I understand." The young boy's bright hazel eyes sparkled with determination as he wished to no longer stay alone but make memories with people who cared for him and live a happy life.
Yvonne had specifically asked Jax to come here so that she might warn him about what might happen.
Now that she had completed her task here, she prepared to head back to the mansion as other things needed her attention.
However, just as she was about to step outside, she turned around and glanced at the boy who was warily looking at the large horse standing a few feet away from him.
"Did you steal those clothes?" Her abrupt question got him bewildered for a second.
Forgetting about the horse, he narrowed his eyes at the little girl who was accusing him.
"The Madame got these made for me!" He rectified her misconception about him but his frown deepened when he saw her chuckling.
'He's calling Mama 'Madame' already.' She snickered at the thought that he was already getting used to the people here.
"I was talking about when you first came to meet me at the Valente Estate." She reiterated to help him understand better.
This clarification made Jax nod as at that moment he was indeed wearing new clothes.
Thinking back to that moment, he scoffed and puffed his chest out.
"I bought those clothes!" He declared the truth for they were not stolen but brand new clothes he had worn to go meet his Big Boss at the appointed time.
After Jax was given the offer, he soon had his answer.
He also realized that when he would go to meet her, he could not wear shabby and torn clothes.
Therefore, he gathered all the money he had and purchased a pair of clothing for him to wear on that day.
'So he dressed for the job that he had yet to clinch?' Yvonne was impressed with his way of doing things.
"But the money was stolen?" She tilted her head and retorted the next second which made him choke as he nodded in acceptance.
While the clothes may not have been stolen, the money used to purchase them most certainly was.
Shaking her head, Yvonne sighed at her subordinate and decided to give him some life lessons.
"Remember always, even if no one catches you doing bad things and punishes you for what you've done. You are never truly safe." She reminded him that divine retribution was something that worked in mysterious ways.
For instance, Earl Blaise and his family had wronged the Hagen family and were cheating the entire Kingdom of Rosenhyde without receiving any punishment.
However, they would soon understand what retribution was through the means of CLOVER, their unknown competitor.
"You did bad things because you knew no other option but now you do. Make use of this opportunity and turn your life around." She gave him words of wisdom she had accumulated in her previous life.
Having said her piece, Yvonne smiled at the young boy whom she hoped would overcome the obstacles her father and Butler Limo were going to place in his path.
Jax watched as the little girl who had said something so wise walked away into the distance and only woke up when he heard the neighing of the horse.
The glare he received from the etcher sent him running in the opposite direction as staying in here without his Big Boss was not a safe thing to do.
___
The moment Yvonne reached her bedroom, she heard the squawking of a bird and knew who it might be.
Surprisingly, as Demon was busy glaring at the young boy running away from his stable, he had failed to notice the presence of the etcher who had just entered his Master's bedroom.
"Tutu?" The little girl smiled when she saw the familiar golden eagle perched on the table next to her bed.
Yvonne's eyes flitted to the door as it was shut but not locked.
'I'll be caught red-handed if someone enters.' She worried that her secret would be uncovered if she wasn't careful.
Tutu seemed to have noticed her troublesome thoughts.
Thus, without making a single sound, she raised her feet and Yvonne untied the letter fastened to it.
{I'm glad that you are back in the Capital, safe and sound.
I kept my side of the bargain now it is time to fulfill yours.
Your best friend.
SO <3 }
Yvonne rolled her eyes at the letter but the contents reminded her that she had made a promise and now it was time to fulfill it.
'How should I meet him without garnering suspicion from the rest of my family?' She began planning a way to meet the man who had helped her out earlier.
Thanks to Tutu's assistance she was able to contact her Uncle and had managed to change his mind, resulting in their families reuniting after years.
Her plans for CLOVER were also moving at a steady pace thanks to this.
Therefore, Yvonne did not wish to be ungrateful after using his etcher to her advantage.
Thinking hard, the little girl rubbed her chin to find a way to leave this mansion without her parents' supervision.
'If I can just leave the Mansion then meeting him outside will not be an issue.' She surmised and thought of some way she can pull this off.
The moment an idea popped up in her mind, she picked up a paper and began writing her reply to the man.
{Two weeks from now.
Your friend
Yvonne St. Claire}
She tied the letter to Tutu's leg and watched how the bird flew high in the sky, in the direction away from her estate.
Looking down, she saw Demon rushing over once he felt the other etcher's presence.
'She's gone, Demon. You don't have to come over.' She disclosed which halted the etcher in his spot.
'Master, don't meet that wily eagle alone.' Demon grumbled, his voice laced with jealousy and hurt.
This made the little girl chuckle as she nodded her head in acceptance of his childish behavior.
'I will call you when I see her here next time.' She suggested and smiled when she saw him nod before leaving once again.
