Though Howard was extremely reluctant to enter this mansion which was suspicious in his eyes, he could not deny that he was curious about the person who resided here.
From what he had comprehended until now, his baby sister had lied to them and followed the cloaked man to come to this place.
'The etcher's master must be staying here.' He concluded after watching the huge bird fly into one of the open windows of the mansion.
Yvonne looked up at her brother and while there was guilt in her demeanor, there was also pleading.
'I've come this far so it would be a waste to turn back from here.' She pouted her lips, attempting to look cute to melt his heart.
Taylor's heart was faster to melt when compared to Howard as he was still wary of the person living here.
However, just like his sister, he too was curious so he let out a low grunt before nodding his head.
"We leave if something is wrong." He declared and was unwilling to jeopardize their safety for his curiosity.
Yvonne cheered in her heart but gave a soft hum in response, appearing as though she would follow everything he said.
Her obedient demeanor appeased his anger a little as he glanced at Taylor who nodded as well.
"Follow us," Taylor instructed his servant who understood the underlying meaning behind this order.
If something were to seem out of the ordinary then the servant could also help protect them from any hidden dangers.
Thus, three children and two servants followed the old butler while the cloaked man did not enter the mansion with them.
As they passed through numerous corridors, the children remained vigilant and glanced around with curious eyes.
The butler brought them before a door and knocked while smiling at them.
"Master, the guests are here." He announced and without waiting for an answer, he pushed the door open.
Yvonne stood at the center with Howard and Taylor on either side as they entered the room.
Grandiose would be putting it in mildly as the decor of this room screamed of wealth and elegance.
Beautifully decorated interiors and expensive furniture were what they found upon entering this room.
However, more than the refinement of the room, their eyes were attracted to the person seated at the center of the couch right opposite the door.
Yvonne's amethyst eyes met those pure white orbs that she had seen on the day she had visited Ocular's caravan with her mother.
With a single glance, she was sure that the man she had met on that day and the man who wrote her letters under the alias of SO, was the same person who was now seated before her.
While Howard and Taylor with Jax and the servant were busy gawking at the man whose features were too unique and never seen before in this land, the little girl had already snapped out of her daze.
"Greetings, SO." She curtsied as this was their first official meeting.
She knew that this man was not a noble from their Kingdom but after looking at the grand mansion, she was sure that he was not lower than any nobleman of this land.
The boys all turned in her direction before they glanced to see how the man would react.
Black hair with pure white irises which were never seen in this land, a youthful face, and sharp features.
His smile blossomed when he was greeted by the cute little girl he had once seen.
"We finally meet, Yvonne St. Claire." He replied without standing which made her raise her brows at his lacking manners.
'After you pestered me to meet you in every letter.' She rolled her eyes at him.
While surprised at his lack of manners, she had discovered something new about him.
After taking a look at the regal air he exuded, unlike the silly persona he exhibited in his letters, Yvonne could deduce that he was an important figure.
Two pairs of eyes were looking at each other intently without any other words being said between them.
'She's not in the least bit nervous or surprised to see me.' The man mused and he would be lying if he said that he wasn't impressed.
Through the letters they had shared in the last two weeks, planning this meeting, he was hoping to see at least a tinge of surprise on her face.
However, all he was seeing right now was conviction as though she knew that she would see him here today.
He was sure that he had not done anything that might reveal his identity to her through the letters so he wondered why she was not displaying any signs of alarm at his strange appearance and rare features.
What SO did not know was that Yvonne had already connected the man she had met to the man in the letters and now, seeing his rare eye color, she was sure that they were all the same person.
'How long does he plan on staring!?' Howard glared at the man whose eyes had not left his sister since they had entered this room.
Finding a stern gaze landing on his face, SO turned to the source and smiled at the young boy who had accompanied his guest.
Through the letters, Yvonne had mentioned that she would be coming here alone but for some reason, SO was sure that she would not be alone.
Therefore, he was not surprised to see the two boys who seemed to have followed her all the way here according to what Tutu, his etcher had reported to him just earlier.
"Please take your seats, Master Howard and Taylor." SO pointed at the couches next to his.
The Butler had already placed refreshments on the table and all that was needed was for them to take their seats.
Hearing this man call out his name, Howard was startled but his sister was bolder than him as she took her seat right opposite the man.
"Do you still plan on not introducing yourself?" Yvonne inquired with narrowed eyes.
From their letters, she knew that he was associated with Ocular and also had a high ranking in the caravan.
However, she had not yet been told his real name while he seemed to know a lot about her.
'And that is upsetting.' She grumbled as she did not like to be kept in the dark about matters that were related to her.
SO smirked but did not answer her query, instead, he turned towards the young boy with midnight blue hair which was closer to his own hair color.
"How was the Obsidian dagger that you received?" He posed a question that made them widen their eyes.
The dagger that he had mentioned was the same one that Howard had gifted to Yvonne on her birthday.
While the siblings were wondering how he knew about it, Taylor finally deciphered the true identity of this person.
"So this mansion belongs to the Master of the Ocular Caravans." He muttered his findings which were clear for everyone to hear.
Howard had asked Taylor to find someone who could sell him an excellent dagger meant as a present for Yvonne.
Taylor had, in turn, asked his elder brother who had informed him of Ocular's treasures.
Topher had connections which even Taylor was unaware of but he was informed that the dagger would be acquired from Ocular.
The one who had come to deliver the dagger at the Tanner's estate was none other than the Butler who had come outside to welcome them earlier.
'I felt that he looked familiar!' He sneered as now everything was clear to him.
The dagger had come from Ocular and the only person who could control the caravan was its Master, this man seated in the same room as them.
"Master?"
"Ocular?"
Yvonne and Howard yelled at the same time.
Yvonne had just learned the true identity of the man she had been pen pals with and Howard was now aware of the seller of the precious dagger he had gifted to his sister.
However, neither of those was the most shocking piece of information they would hear today.
This was due to the news that the Butler had come back into the room to inform his Master, SO, who now they knew was also the Master of Ocular's caravan.
"Master, Earl St. Claire is here." The Butler bowed while relaying the message he had received from their guards.
