Chapter 491 - Her Confidante

By the next day, the news of Yvonne's haircut spread throughout the St. Claire estate.

Roselie became popular for she was the one who cut the Young Miss's hair and everyone wished to get their hair done by her.

The little girl shook her head while thinking of her maid who was running around the estate, cutting everybody's hair.

"Lost in your thoughts during class hours, Miss St. Claire?" A familiar sarcastic voice dragged her out of her thoughts.

The mocking smirk on the face of the silver-haired man made her roll her eyes at him.

"Tsk Tsk! Would someone believe that such a disrespectful action was coming from an honorable daughter of the Earl?" He shook his head and even sighed as though he was deeply distressed by her behavior.

"Marquess, didn't you just click your tongue at me?" Yvonne retorted and smirked back when she saw her tutor's guilty face for he had been caught red-handed.

Marquess Sullivan Samed scoffed at his pupil who was getting bolder by each day.

"How's everything with CLOVER?" He inquired to divert her attention from the blunder he had just made in her presence.

Yvonne was aware of his motives but instead of exposing him, she answered truthfully.

As her tutor was the first person she revealed her plan of becoming a businesswoman, he was privileged to hear most of her business ideas and was kept in the loop about the updates she received.

"Ah, so Ocular is now in the central areas?" He inquired and saw her nod as that was what her Uncle Marcus had informed her through his letters.

Since Sevenz could not contact her, he sent information about the caravan's whereabouts every time he dispatched his men to the Plantation to restock his supplies.

Thus, she was still up to date on his current location despite not having spoken to him in a while.

Back when she first informed Marquess Samed about Ocular's involvement, he was surprised and even said that she had struck gold with this move.

With Ocular as her supplier, the King's backing to hide the existence of CLOVER from Earl Blaise for the time being, and the recipe from the Hagen family, Yvonne was already minting money.

Her soaps had soon become popular among the southern commoners because it was both cheap and effective.

Due to the low price, they were attracted to CLOVER's soaps and after they bought their required amount, they had enough to stock up for the next few months.

Since CLOVER could produce more without a hassle, Yvonne allowed this to happen as the Southern fiefs would be cordoned off soon enough.

Thus CLOVER made it a point to let its soaps be available to them before moving upwards.

Now that Ocular was done in the southern fiefs, they had moved to the central areas and soon enough they would move to the North as well.

Thinking of something, Yvonne looked at her tutor as she tilted her head.

"Was the supply we sent enough for your fief?" She inquired as she had also sent the Samed fief a stock enough for the next few months.

Since he was her confidante and tutor, among the few fiefs that received priority like the St. Claire fief and the Valente fief, later even the Samed fief was added.

"Our population isn't large despite being a large fief so everyone had more than enough to suffice for months." He nodded and there was gratitude in his eyes.

He was in charge of the land he had inherited from his father and the prices that Earl Blaise was selling at had become a thorn in his eyes.

Therefore, after the summer vacation ended, when his pupil announced that the plan she had made to get back at the greedy Earl had been put into action, he was the happiest of them all.

He even signed a contract with her for the priority supply which allowed him to ask for more stocks and even gain priority over the other fiefs.

This 'priority supply' was something that his student had introduced and it meant that those with this contract would get first preference if there ever was a shortage of products.

Marquess Samed was pleased that he was the first to get it after her paternal and maternal fiefs.

Yvonne also wished for the Tanner family who was good to her and sent her presents often to get the same preferential treatment from CLOVER.

However, at the same time, she did not wish to reveal her secret identity as VC, the owner of CLOVER.

'I should think of a way to reach out to them without exposing my true identity.' She decided before moving onto another topic that had come to her mind.

Gazing at the man seated before her, Yvonne shook her head pitifully.

"What?" He scowled when he saw the pity in her eyes that made him narrow his.

"How's your search going?" She inquired and saw him grimace.

Shaking his head, his shoulders slumped in defeat but the very next moment, he shot up in his seat.

"I am not giving up!" Sullivan Samed exclaimed while clenching his fists tight.

Yvonne chuckled at his sincerity and nodded before speaking a few words of encouragement.

The reason for Marquess Samed's both gloomy and invigorated appearance which changed in a matter of seconds was his nephew, Topher Tanner.

After the St. Claires had returned to Amarthea at the end of the summer vacation, the news about Topher's etcher being found was already common knowledge here.

Inquiring about this matter, Yvonne soon found out from her tutor that the Tanner family heir's etcher was a red fox.

However, the little girl had not yet met it so her curiosity about the beast was immense.

Each time she inquired about the beast, Marquess Samed had a sour look on his face just like the one he had earlier on.

His nephew had also found his etcher but he had not yet found his.

This brought him both pain and determination to look for his etcher at the earliest.

Topher's progress had acted as a catalyst to Sullivan's desire of gaining his own etcher and for the last few months, he had been roaming around the capital in search of his fated beast as well.

However, he had not yet found his but he wasn't going to lose hope just yet.

After all, he had more free time now than he had a year ago which meant that he could concentrate on finding his fated beast now.

This was possible due to another event that took place three months ago.

When Yvonne first heard the news about this, she was both surprised and also relieved.

This was because, the Royal Tutor, Marquess Samed was assigned a helper who would aid in tutoring and looking after the well-being of the Royal Princess and her playmates.

The identity of the person who was assigned this role, Yvonne knew very well.

'Governess Bloom, the tutor and caretaker of the Princess and her friends in the original script.' She recalled the information about the old lady who was said to play a vital role in their formative years.

The Governess who had served as nanny to both the King and the Grand Duke during their childhood was supposed to be the Royal Tutor instead of Marquess Samed.

However, this had changed due to unknown circumstances and the role had been bestowed upon the Marquess.

Yvonne had later heard from her tutor that this change had occurred due to the Grand Duke being severely injured and the Governess was sent to look after him.

In her absence, Marquess Samed was appointed the Royal Tutor and for a whole year, he fulfilled his duties by tutoring the three girls and had done a stellar job at that.

Therefore, when the Grand Duke had healed after a year and Governess Bloom was free from her duty, she did not take up the role of Royal Tutor.

The King assigned her as a helper to the Tutor instead.

Her duty was to look after their etiquettes and other matters concerning socializing while Marquess Samed would focus on their education.

This lessened the burden on the Marquess and gave him a larger amount of free time in which he was roaming around the Capital to find his fated etcher.

Therefore, right now, he was only tutoring Yvonne St. Claire for three hours each day after completing his first class with the Princess and the other playmates.
