Chapter 507 - Cannot Enter

'Just let us get back home!' Yvonne glowered at her butler who was mocking her for crying too much earlier.

Jax noticed her narrowed eyes but he coughed and looked away to control the snigger that had almost slipped past his lips.

While the Master and Butler were leering at each other and conversing through their silence, the rest of the boys were witnessing this situation with complicated eyes.

Howard and Taylor were glaring daggers at Jax who had snatched away their little sister's attention.

Topher and Damien were also staring at him but for different reasons.

'Was he always this fit?' Topher's face held his doubts which even Damien had understood.

In reply, he shook his head as this boy wasn't as physically fit when they had last met him, many months ago.

His progress was startling and they could not help but be astonished by how much he had developed in just a few months.

During their stay at the Royal Academy, Topher had wished to know more about the new servant who followed the little girl.

Therefore, he had initiated this topic during their conversation at lunch one day.

This was how the rest of them had been informed of where Yvonne had met Jax and how he had come to be her Butler.

To a boy, coming from such a humble background, this progress was truly impressive and they could not help but view him in a different light.

The argument between the Earl and Captain Desmo had escalated and only through the intervention of the Duke did matters come to an end.

The Duke then reminded the Earl that they still had official matters to discuss and even the Marquess wished to go along with them as he was curious to know more about what they were dealing with.

"I'm leaving them in your care so you better be careful." Rutherford snarled at Desmo who nodded before waving his hand, asking him to leave ever so impatiently.

'This is why I never allow him to stay during our training hours.' Captain Reel sneered while watching the backs of the three men who were walking away from the training grounds.

In matters regarding his children, his friend Ford would turn paranoid, and only their safety would be on his mind.

Thinking of this, he gave them one last look before turning away and looking at the group of youngsters that had been left behind.

"You can watch or even practice but be careful." He reminded them once again.

Topher nodded, taking the responsibility for everyone's safety.

Taylor shrugged as he rarely visited this place and he would much rather prefer having tea with his mother in the greenhouse if Yvonne didn't wish to stay here as well.

He then scoffed at his best friend who appeared like a child on his birthday as he glanced everywhere with wide eyes, observing the Red Scorpion Knights in training.

Finally, Damien was silent as ever, as he stood next to the little girl behind whom stood her butler.

"You should rest if you aren't feeling well." His soft mutters reached the child's ears who was watching the men practicing sword fighting with excitement.

Glancing sideways, Yvonne finally noticed who was standing next to her.

Her hands held the canister of cold water which she had gotten specifically prepared from a blacksmith to resemble a metallic water bottle from her previous world.

The blacksmith had used materials that retained the temperature of whatever item was stored inside.

Warm items remained warm and cold would stay cold for a longer period.

She had also designed the canister so that once water was filled through the opening, two caps could be fit over it.

One to fix a tool that imitated sippers from her world and the second which would close the entire contraption.

Right now, the first cap was with Jax and the little girl was sipping cold water at regular intervals and this sight had fallen in Damien's eyes.

"I'm fine," Yvonne muttered back before returning her gaze to the training.

She had said so and Damien did not pursue this matter after giving her a nod.

Since Captain Desmo was busy training his recruits, Topher was in charge of taking them around the place.

Howard wished to see the sword training first so that was where they went.

Next came the archery center where Yvonne got to see Deputy O'Reil teaching his pupils which allowed her to take a few pointers from him as well.

'Free education.' She smirked and listened to what the skilled archer was teaching his men.

Topher then led them to the stables where the horsemen of the Squad were training and the little girl's eyes twinkled when she saw someone familiar.

However, before she could take another step forward, someone had stopped her path.

"Girls cannot enter the riding field." A young man in the uniform of a squire blocked her way.

From the look of disgust on his face and the narrowed eyes which were looking down on her, Yvonne realized that he did not like her.

"Why not?" The little girl retorted as her mood dropped upon being obstructed from entering the field.

She only wished to meet the one she knew but this squire was not allowing her to even take another step forward.

The boys with her too narrowed their eyes when they saw how this squire was shooting her glances of contempt and animosity even though this was their first meeting.

"Is there a problem here?" Topher stepped up as he tried to sort this matter out.

"Young Master, this girl wants to enter the riding field. How could she even dare to even think of doing something like that!?" He began spewing his complaints without hesitation.

The repulsive look on his face made Yvonne wish to punch him but she held in her anger.

"Why can't she come here?" Taylor added as a menacing look appeared on his face.

His little sister could go anywhere she pleased in this estate.

What pride could he take as her elder brother if she was being restricted while moving around in his estate?

Therefore, he was furious at this squire who had dared to forbid her from entering someplace while he was still around.

Topher glared at his brother who seemed prepared to get into a fight with the young squire but he knew that a fight would solve nothing.

The squire too had understood that he had angered the second young master of this mansion so he put on a pleasing smile.

"Masters, girls are weak and cannot be allowed to enter here." He spoke up in a righteous tone as though he was doing it for the sake of the little girl.

"What if she is frightened by the horses and faints?" He questioned while shaking his head for that would be a hassle to deal with.

Yvonne raised her brows at this young man whose words were an insult to her.

Taylor let out a roar of laughter while Howard's lips curved into a snickering smile.

"Vonny, did you hear that?" Taylor wiped the tears that had formed due to his excessive laughter.

The squire felt his face burn with embarrassment when he saw how their gazes were filled with ridicule and they laughed as though he had just said the funniest thing they had ever heard.

The other squires who were in charge of maintaining the training field with him were filled with conflicting views.

While some held the same opinion as him and looked down on girls, the others were feeling bad for the little girl.

However, all of them had one thought which they had in common.

'He is going to get in trouble.' They were sure of this as not only the usually languid Young Master Taylor but also the always smiling Young Master Topher had a grave look on their faces.

Since not many knew of Topher's true personality which Taylor was well aware of, for them, Topher was a pleasant and sincere young man.

Right now, even that young man had a strained look which proved that he wasn't too happy with what was taking place.

"Step aside," Topher ordered, at the limit of his patience though he did not let his irritation show up on his face.

"But Young Master, a weak girl like her-" The squire's adamant and demeaning words came to a halt as a shiver ran down his spine.

Before he knew it, his body almost stumbled due to the fear that took over his body.
