Yvonne could sense the aura enveloping her but it did not affect her in the least bit.
Earlier when she had felt the King's aura, that had been a tad bit unbearable due to the enormous amount of power residing in his body.
However, the Prince standing before her was nowhere near the level of the King.
Therefore, Yvonne who already awakened her powers and also had an etcher wasn't suffocating due to the aura of an older boy with no etcher.
Prince Fritzen did not notice his aura leaking and hence did not know about the child being able to withstand it with no qualms.
His entire attention was fixed on the child and getting her to confess about what she had done to him in the past.
When the Prince revealed every detail about that incident without blinking an eye, Yvonne was left stumped to find that his memory was excellent even after so many years.
'Why couldn't he just forget as he should have?' She scoffed in her mind but her face still held that oblivious look.
Understanding that she could not continue in this way any longer, she had made up her mind on how she would react now.
She had been constantly adapting to new pieces of information he was throwing out throughout their conversation so she would have to do the same even now.
"Ah!" She widened her eyes and exclaimed as though she recalled which incident he was referring to right now.
"I remember!" She nodded her head in eager acceptance.
Prince Fritzen had a victorious grin on his face and this was when he noticed his aura around them.
Pulling it back right away, he glanced at the child and sighed in relief when she appeared to be unaffected by it.
However, in the next second, he was wondering why she wasn't affected by his aura.
While he had not done so intentionally, now his curiosity was piqued and he desired to find an answer to his questions.
On the other hand, Yvonne was unaware of his heightened curiosity and continued with what she had been meaning to say.
"I did rescue someone from a stream." She nodded in acceptance of his earlier words.
To prove that she still remembered, she pressed her shoulders as though she was reminiscing about the past.
"The fool fell into a shallow stream and cried out like a child." She muttered to herself but every word was audible enough for the Prince.
His curiosity dissipated and was overtaken by fury at what he was hearing.
'Does she even know who she is calling a fool!?' He glowered as his blue eyes darkened in anger.
However, it seemed that the child was oblivious to the changes occurring in him as she continued with her recollection of an incident in the past.
"If only he had tried to stand up, he would have known that the stream was too shallow for him to drown." She revealed and let out a snicker while looking at the seething boy before her.
She had heard from her father and even gained confirmation from her brother that the stream was indeed too shallow.
Even if she were to get into the stream, the water level would only reach her neck and she would not drown in it.
Therefore, she ruthlessly pointed out an embarrassing tidbit that he wished to keep a secret for all eternity.
"But no matter what… He squealed like a pig to be saved from drowning." She sighed while shaking her head in dismay at this absurd event she had witnessed.
This final statement was the last straw for the Prince who had a traumatizing memory of being labeled as a 'Pig' resurfacing in his mind.
"I did no such thing!" He scowled at her while clenching his fists.
However, Yvonne was neither frightened nor worried that she was overdoing it.
After all, she had a plan in mind; therefore, in her eyes, the Prince looked like a little puppy baring its fangs at her when they weren't even sharp enough to sink in her flesh.
Once the Prince's growl came to an end, the little girl took another step away as though she had been startled by his sudden emotional outburst.
"Why is the Prince angry?" She muttered in a shaky voice, continuing her pretense of being a frightened child.
"I was talking about the stable boy I saved in the past." She reminded him then looked down with her shoulders trembling ever so slightly.
This time, it was the Prince's turn to freeze in place as he stared at the top of her head with his jaw dropped.
As these words echoed in his mind, he finally recalled something that held great value.
'I was under disguise…' He felt his world staggering upon coming to this realization.
All along he was mad at the child who had dared to call him, the Prince, a pig and act in such a disrespectful manner before him.
Even now, he was infuriated to see her mouth off right in front of him.
However, the last statement she said made him freeze.
She was right, after all!
The Prince was in the St. Claire fief on a covert mission and was donning a disguise when he first met her and was rescued by her.
Her calling him a pig was also because she did not know who he truly was.
In her eyes, he must have been just another servant who should silently tolerate her tantrums.
While he was undergoing a moment of retrospection, Yvonne sneaked a peek at him.
'Got ya, didn't I?' She snickered in her heart as she reveled at the dazed look on his face.
The Prince was enlightened at the revelation she had made and realized that he had been bearing a grudge on her until now because she had dared to disrespect him.
However, even if she had done so, it was because she was oblivious to his true identity.
Or at least, that was what she made him believe just now.
'Dammit!' He grit his teeth as he was the one in the wrong now.
The child saved him and even if she had been rude, it was to someone she thought was a servant.
People wouldn't think that she had done anything wrong.
In fact, they would praise her for being kind-hearted enough to save a drowning servant who was much bigger than her in size.
They might even find fault with him for hiding his identity and infiltrating a nobleman's estate.
Therefore, he clenched his fists and took a moment to analyze his situation.
'So she still doesn't know that it was me she saved.' He pointed out what he had learned from their odd conversation.
If she was unaware of the identity of the boy she saved then he could use it to his advantage.
'No one will know that she insulted me and even saved me if she continues to stay clueless.' He rejoiced as his reputation would not be harmed.
The only other person who knew about this was his uncle and he was sure that his uncle would not let another soul know about what had happened to him in the St. Claire estate.
His main goal for today was to avenge his lost dignity and pay back the insult he had received from this girl.
However, now he was wavering in his resolve.
Since she had not yet associated him with the boy she rescued, he would let her be under that wrongful assumption that she had encountered just another stable boy.
Yvonne had been noticing him for quite a while now and witnessed a plethora of emotions appearing and disappearing in quick succession.
From anger to startlement followed by ridicule and finally landing at relief.
But how could Yvonne let him off so easily?
Therefore, she continued to stare at him with her amethyst eyes unblinking before she widened them at once.
A loud gasp snapped Prince Fritzen out of his thoughts and he glanced at the child who was looking his way.
"C-could it… N-no… How could it be?" She mumbled incoherent words while staring right at him.
Prince Fritzen had just been thinking that he should have paid heed to his uncle's words and stayed away from this child when he heard her speaking up after a long silence.
Therefore, he tried to make sense of the nonsense she was muttering to herself.
"There was only one person who knew that I saved a stable boy and just now, the Prince said..." Yvonne's next words caused his back to stiffen up.
Her eyes sized his body up and finally fixed on his face, making it looked like she was trying to figure something out.
'What is she looking at?' He wondered while gulping a mouthful of saliva, hoping that she did not discover something she shouldn't have.
Another loud gasp escaped the girl's lips which only further increased the anxious thoughts in his head.
"Was that the Prince!?" She blurted and covered her palms over her mouth.
Succeeding in concealing the smirk that formed over her lips, she watched as panic set in his eyes.
She had noticed much earlier that he was furious about the insult he had faced in the past.
This entire meeting must have been a ruse to get her here and somehow avenge what she had done to him in the past.
However, her pretense made him lower his guard after realizing that she knew nothing of his true identity.
If he were to continue going after her then he would expose his identity to her.
Once this took place, others would also hear about the indignance he had faced.
Having calculated everything, she knew for sure that no one would point their finger at her for saving the Prince in disguise.
They would even forgive her for being rude on account of her kind deed.
However, everyone would know about the Prince's pitiful state as he cried to be saved and was also insulted by the child who did save him.
The relief she had observed in his eyes was because he felt that she knew nothing and would keep her mouth shut.
She had never thought of exposing any of these details to anyone before but how could she continue to remain silent when he tried to scheme against her?
Therefore, she acted to have just come to the sudden realization about the stable boy and the Prince's connection, succeeding in stunning him speechless.
'Since you did not mind seeking me out for revenge then you should be able to bear the consequences for it.' She sneered behind her palms that still covered her mouth.
Meanwhile, Prince Fritzen was trying his best to come up with a way to extricate his name from this situation which he had undoubtedly brought upon himself in search of petty revenge.
'I should have listened to Uncle!' He grimaced at the mess that he had landed himself into.
