Two massive arms grabbed Cole by the neck before he could even react and dragged him up, before throwing him onto the roof. Now why that was quite unfortunate, Cole called the alien a fool in his mind as he immediately activated his suit's invisibility function the moment he hit the roof.
He heard the Nijat Alien give a wild squawk of shock, as he took a quick look of his surroundings, noticing that he had gone and fucked up by picking this roof.
There were no less than two dozen Nijat Aliens on the roof, and of all the things they were currently spit roasting a couple of humans, with a pile of dead bodies piled in one corner, and still living survivors at the opposite edge.
Cole quickly got up and ran towards the alien that had thrown him on the roof. A swift and quick jump sent both feet to the Alien's face, as Cole drop kicked him off the roof, and right back down into the alley to splatter on the ground with its friend.
Cole deactivated the [Invisibility] function of the suit, reappearing and shocking the remaining aliens as he fired off three quick shots, each of them head shots that took out his enemies.
He rolled off and picked himself, running to the left and activating [Invisibility] again, as the rest of the aliens, those of them at least that were armed, opened fire on the location he was previously occupying.
A hole was blasted down into the building below, with the edges looking as if someone had dropped molten lava around it. Cole ran towards one of the arm aliens, bypassing a few of the unarmed but still four armed ones.
He dropped the invisibility just in time to activated [Wild Charge] his form blurring forwards as he stabbed his blade under the jaw of the Nijat alien. Using his generated momentum to ride the body of the alien into his comrade, and sending all three of them to the ground.
Cole just sent his arm snaking around the dying and mutilated Nijat alien in front of him, and sent the blade into the bulbous head of the one behind.
There was vent besides Cole that he quickly jumped behind, pulling out an energy capsule that he quickly used, refilling his energy and then promptly falling back into stealth.
Several shots impacted the vent, melting it to slag as Cole went out and back to the body of the Nijat aliens he had just finished eliminating. Their guns, which were actually staffs of some sort with gear like protrusions around them laid unclaimed.
Cole grabbed the first one he could and then turned, his form becoming visible for all to see, as he leveled the staff blaster in the direction of the Nijat aliens. Keeping them in front of him, and the pile of dead bodies behind him.
[Gravity]
"Eat shit fuckers!"
*thewm! Thewm! Thewm! Thewm! Thewm!*
With a firing rate of 4 per second and a sustained firing rate of almost 10 seconds, Cole was able to deliver a lot of damage as he laid into them all, screaming in the process as he let loose into the crowd of Nijat alien.
The act of firing into the aliens itself was one of letting go, it was just one bad news after the other with him recently, and when he thought about it, in the grand scheme of things losing his elder brothers was a whole lot worse than getting his heart broken by what he was now realizing was some bloody gold digger.
He left them, to him, bfamily had been nothing more than a burden, now as a result he had lost two of the most important people to him. Focusing on the impossible quest in front of him was just an excuse, all Cole wanted to do was ignore the grief that was creeping around the edge of his heart.
It was desolation unlike anything he had ever seen before, and it was grabbing him around the throat. And as he laid into the aliens, he finally let loose. Tears pouring out of his eyes as he cried his rage, pain and frustrations to the high heavens.
And then he chocked, his throat seized and he couldn't breathe. For a moment he was frantic, and shocked as he felt his heart begin to tighten. He looked around, and discovered an alien flying in the air.
It was thinner than the others he had faced so far, and had two arms instead of four and was armored too, just like the ones he had seen in the plaza, some of which he had turned to slag on this roof.
The eyes of the alien was glowing a sickly green, Cole did not need anybody to spell it out for him. He was probably dealing some sort of psionic or telepath. And he responded in kind as he turned the staff blaster in its direction and unloaded on the bloody thing, ripping it in half, as it fell to the top of the roof with a wet splat.
Air came rushing into Cole's lungs as he hunched over, hacking and coughing as his body shook with relief. He shook his head as he unsteadily got back up to his feet and looked around. There were hover crafts flying about in the air, many of them on an escape route from the Nijat aliens that were giving chase.
He got up, picking up a pair of prisms that laid at his feet and unconsciously using them in the process. He felt a surge of energy through his body as he realized some of his stats had leveled up.
[You have Used Two Iron Rank Prisms! +13 to Intelligence, +13 to Perception.]
13 flat increase to two stats from each prisms, it was a lucky coincidence, or perhaps there was something about the aliens that had left the prisms behind. In retrospect he didn't seem to be receiving any sort of skills from Prisms in the last few low level ones he had been using, also….. Oh wait! He was level 9 already wasn't he?
And with all of these killing that he had just unleashed on the aliens on this roof, he should be hitting it right about…
[Congratulations! You have Reached Level 10!]
