Chapter 204 204: The 2nd Wave IV

That had to be the most anticlimactic fight Cole has ever experienced in the entirety of the time he has spent on the fourth floor. But then again such a scenario would not have happened if he and Cassandra had not been able to properly synergize and capitalize on the opening Cole had given her. But even at that, the fight was still not over yet as there were still the two bruisers as Neral had called them.

"Well that was totally and completely unexpected, but be that as it may I can't let the two of you have all of the fun. So I'll be taking those two…. Unless of course the both of you have anything to say about it?" Farida asked as she adjusted her Hijab which flower down around her like a cape, as two massive wings popped out of her back. Cole had forgotten that she was actually some sort of angelic or celestial race, either ways, Farida was pretty much the light to his darkness as she leapt over the barrier, not even waiting for Cole to finish speaking.

"By all means knock yourself out." Cole finished saying as she took the sky's, a literal Halo bursting out from behind her as a plethora of energy rapiers, golden in their coloring and each the size of trucks appeared over the heads of the undead but particularly focused on the bruisers. Thankfully these ones were not some massive woman with a dozen nipples and zombie babies hanging from them, Cole would probably be having nightmares from that that sight for the next couple of days.

The sword beams landed like a thunder clap on both bruisers, cleaving them in half as Cole couldn't help but open his mouth wide in shock. Not that he would not have been able to do that….maybe not to that degree, but still the level of power and control both women have shown over their skills left Cole feeling very envious. Where he was a blunt instrument, they both were surgical and precise in their methods and approach, perhaps that was why they got along so well.

From then on, Farida went on a rampage, much like Cole she quite enjoyed the thrill of battle, as she took it to the undead, limiting her own strength just to be able to get that adrenaline rush as she cut them indiscriminately. Cole had a propensity for violence that up until this point he didn't think anyone else could match, but from what he could see from both of them, they had just as wild an appetite as he did.

There was nothing left for him to do here but to just sit back and watch as Farida and the fighters went to work, dismantling and killing everything that was alive….. or rather unalive. In no time at all of the undead had been dealt with and then second wave came to a very anticlimactic end. Honestly Cole expected much more than this, but ultimately Cole knew there was more challenge to come so he wasn't so worried about a chance to prove himself stronger than Farida and Cassandra, at least if not for nobody else but for himself.

It was in this manner they dealt with the third wave, this time facing off against four Bruisers and a boss that had control over earth. The fight was not particularly hard at all, and was finished just as quickly as the second wave if not faster. The fourth wave was almost a bust as there had only been a 100 Baneling zombies attacking, each and every single one of them being masters of ambush tactics and combat, teleporting all over the place.

It was at their hand that Cole and his group of fighters finally got their first casualty. It soured the mood of a few, but ultimately it was something to brush off as the death had been to an Aspirant who came back alive after a few minutes. The man just lost a life so Cole was a or to put him at the rear, running logistics and supplies for now until he was needed again on the frontlines.

The fourth wave came along, with each wave having an interval of am extra 10 minutes added to the overall time. So they had a 40 minutes break for the fourth wave. After their earlier casualty, they all decided to utilize a somewhat careful spp4oach, especially since most of the aspirants, Cole, Farida and Cassandra included were now getting low on energy. But of course it was in that moment they got reinforcements from sanctuary, bolstering their 200 number to a good 500. There were three similar choke points along the highway leading back to Sanctuary, and according to information that Cole had received they had even more fighters ready to defend should the waves prove themselves a little too much for Cole and his team to handle

Never the less the fourth wave was particularly devastating, but not for them. The Zombies this time were tanks, strong, powerful and could take a hit. However they were slow, and even if they were tanks they were not invisible. Enough bullets to the skull would put down any body. Of course the bruisers were a whole other different story, there were sixteen of them, which required intervention from every single Aspirant there, in order to not out the denizens in the line of fire and cause them to lose their lives.

This particular wave did not even get anywhere close to the fighters before their were decimated, and this wave had no boss to speak of. And it was the same for the next wave after that. Even though Cole had been a bit nervous as five seems to be a rather important number to the system, so definitely shit was going to hit the fan. But there was no boss, and by this time they and all gotten used to fighting bruisers. Seeing no other option Cole had order the retreat of the fighters and requested for fresher fighters. They'd have to wait until those fighters got here, but it was as they were creating a hill in the horizon that the second floor started, and Cole found himself face to face with the boss of the sixth wave….. a fucking Gorgon, and not just a gorgon…. A fucking aspirant.

"I guess we should settle this once and for all…..let's dance traitor. And then the world shook."
