They rushed at each other, the signal for their fight was given by a stray gust of wind that seemed to blow past them both. Their swords met with a loud clang as a shockwave was released, clearing the entire battlefield of any debris around them. They pulled back as she went for an overhead sweep, her form perfect as she moved way faster than Cole could possibly anticipate, but even if he could not anticipate he could still react as the spear, now a dagger shot up, it's hilt slamming into the flat of her blade and raising it a bit higher than she was aiming for.
Cole sent a thrust to there stomach, which she quickly stepped back to avoid, but Cole was nothing if not persistent as he kept forward, following after her as he did not want to lose the advantage that he had just gained. He sent [Black Malakai] stabbing forwards, pushing the limits of his ability as he stabbed out multiple times, leaving sword mirages with every strike. But Delarosa moved her sword just as quickly, blocking every strike that Cole sent her way. He grinned, he was tempted to use a skill, after all she had said he should give it his all, but at the same time, Cole wanted to enjoy this, the thrill of a straight up traditional sword battle.
She dug her heels, bringing her retreat to a stop as she swung her broad sword using and underhand swing. There was so much power within the strike that wind was carried along. Cole crossed both weapons in his hands, shifting [Black Malakai] into a katana form and using the blunt edge to block against the strike. The force lifted him off his feet and threw him into the air easily crossing 15 feet as Cole had no choice but to create a platform of [Gravity] in the air that arrested his momentum, and then he blasted forwards, his sword pointing straight down as it shifted back into its longsword form.
He was faster now, both the boost from gravity and the inertia from his fall, giving him the necessary for e and speed required to close the distance between them rapidly. She held the broadsword over her head and used it to defend against Cole's strike, but contrary to her expectations, she was the one who was caught on the back foot from this exchange as the broadsword shattered into numerous pieces, shards of the blade blasting every which way, as she pivoted on her foot and spun away from Cole's attack.
His blade sank into the ground as she sent a knee right into the side of his face. He would have been thrown away, but with [Black Malakai] still stuck in the ground, Cole was able to arrest his momentum and used the sword to reverse and deliver a drop kick into her chest, this time she was the one who was flung away as Cole landed and pulled his sword out, wincing 8n pain as his shattered and dislocated jaw fixed itself back into place.
He quickly chased after her fleeing form, but there was no need to as she appeared right in front of him, with another sword, this time it was black as night, and gave Cole and extremely eerie feeling…. She was also using a curse sword, and just like his, her's was also demonic. The last thing Cole wanted to do was to be cut by that damn thing, because it wouldn't matter how much defense or how much damage nullification skills he had, once a demonic blade cut you, you were a slave to it's effects and damages.
Her blade was thinner, it was still a longsword but much thinner than Cole's, but still equally just as dangerous as she swung widely, aiming for his sides. Cole blocked with [Black Malakai] and slashed out with the spear, catching her on the cheek, but he might as well have just slashed through air as it seemed as if she had not even taken any damage at all. She did seem somewhat ghost like to him anyways, so perhaps it would take a lot more than that to bring her down.
They rushed at each other again as both swords crashed into themselves, sparks flying along with black demonic miasma that seemed to sleep out chaos, poison and rot. Chaos being a normal component for any demonic weapon, but rot being the embodiment of [Black Malakai] and poison being that of the sword Delarosa was using. Their blades smashed into each other one final time, this time hard enough that the shockwave blasted them away from each other with Delarosa floating over the ground while Cole stabbed [Black Malakai] into the ground, sparks raising up as he arrested his momentum…. He chuckled.
"I thought you said we should give this fight our all, from the looks of your new sword it's obvious you didn't take your own advice." Cole said to her as he got back up to his feet, a distance of over ten meters now separating the two of them. Delarosa shrugged, though seeing how she was somewhat incorporeal, Cole wasn't sure he was seeing what he thought she was seeing.
"Don't he offended but even you should know that in a fight as much as any game in existence you have to keep a few cards to yourself. Besides unlike you who seem to have found a solution for a demonic sword needing your own vitality to power it's skills and very existence, I don't have such luxury. The more I keep on using [Nuc' Balrog] the more I become disconnected from reality, becoming more like I am now, and also becoming a part of the sword itself. A steep price to pay for it's power, loosing my send of self and joining the 99 other souls that it had consumed, until someone else come along to make a deal with it again and the cycle would resume."
Cole raised an eyebrow as he asked. "Why are you telling me this?" Delarosa chuckled softly, a sound that was almost akin to soft ringing bells. Soothing when you paid attention to it, but also jarring as it sounded as if she was not in tune? Or rather she was disconnected from reality so her voice could not be projected normally.
"I have a feeling this fight would not end the way either of us expected, so I guess I want someone to know my story and have a little bit of appreciation for my struggles as a warrior…. It is the only thing left to ensure that my time in this accursed world means something." Cole nodded his head in understanding, then he crouched down, spreading his legs as he drew the hilt of [Black Malakai] to his chest, a lunging stance for those familiar with fencing, then he said to her.
"Let's finish this!"
