the second floor was massive cavern, multiple boulders the size of massive buildings, but all of them squat like blocks. It was almost as if someone had chopped up a mountain into multiple smaller cubes and then placed them in a massive underground bowl. And unlike the previous floor, Cole's destination to the next floor was very obvious in the great tree that was at the far end of the cavern.
Now as for the monsters in this floor, Cole couldn't see anyone of them at the moment yet, he was not worried though, every challenge that would be thrown his way he was more than ready to face it. The cavern was also filled with water,Cole was not sure how deep it was, and there were smaller rocks on the surface that seemed to create a path to the great tree.
Without another word he stepped onto the path, moving as he gingerly picked his way through. Still there was nothing, it was only as he was halfway through, that he stopped and squatted. A few seconds later a shark the size of a bus flew right over where his head was, snapping at the empty air.
Cole hopped forwards, just in time to avoid a pair of webbed hands getting a hold of his feet and pulling him down under. The monsters on this floor had also set an ambush for him, their aims should probably be a way to get Cole into the water to either drown him or leave him for the sharks to tear apart, because from what Cole could see, there was a lot more than one in the underground lake.
He hoped forwards, not at all stopping for the first five seconds, narrowly escaping getting dragged down. The next stone he stepped on, caused Cole to furrow his eyebrows. Somehow his [Sin Seeking Eyes] was walking on overdrive. He could see a confluence of energy around a vague shape that looked like a humanoid frog in robes. It was holding on to a staff and the confluence in energy was gathering at a point under neath Cole.
It reached saturation in a second as Cole placed his hands below himself and used [Gravity] creating a shield that popped up underneath him as a spray of water and lightning blasted him upwards, all the way to the roof of the cavern. He spun his body in the air as he maneuvered himself to face down, watching annoyed as another massive shark surged out of the water, jaws wide open and heading straight for him.
Cole spun in the air, Black Malakai leaving a trail of Black in its wake as Cole spun rapidly and released a beam of energy from his sword. The sheer power behind it was enough to cause a sonic boom as Cole felt Black Malakai rattle in his hands as a crack appeared on it. He felt a screech of pain from the sword, and by felt Cole meant he got a full blown headache and the roars of a pained animal.
He cursed as he sent his sword back into his inventory and pulled out his rifle. But by then it was already too late as Cole's beam from the sword had split the giant Shark in two, before traveling onwards to splash into the lake, spill ting it in two too as a massive wall of water rose up enough that Cole could see the bottom of the cavern and then ravine had created at the bottom.
But more than just that was the fact that a significant part of the aquatic life in the lake, at least those that had been cut in the energy strike, they were all in pieces or partly in pieces, or split in half or missing significant chunks of themselves. It was no wonder Black Malakai had cracked, he had been putting way too much pressure on the sword, especially now that he was a gold rank and the weapon was still silver ranked. Cole needed to level it up.
Cole landed on the rock that he found out where massive earth pillars stretching up from the bottom of the cavern. He kept on moving forwards before stopping. In front of him were three frog like men. One with a flange mace and shield, another with a bow and a quiver of arrows that looked like they have been carved from a coral reef. The third was at the back with a bandolier filled with shelled flasks.
He had not even fished observing them when he turned around to see another frog person, this one with robes and a staff with an orb on it…. ahh Cole already met this guy, then there was the one with two curved coral daggers, and finally another with robs but holding a book.
"You have got to be kidding me?" Cole said as he observed all of them with an expression that was rapidly turning from annoyed to irritated.
He had a full team on him, he had no idea who the guy with the flask was, probably some alchemist class or something similar. But the mace and shield was the tank, two daggers and the freak behind it with the staff were the dps in a rogue and mage. The one with the book is probably a healer, then the bow and arrow guy. It was rapidly looking as if he was not the one in a dungeon but the monster in the dungeon.
Theses guys were arranged and formed like a typical adventurer team. The kind you would make to farm, level or defeat bosses. Cole scowled. Was he the boss in this scenario? It was weird but even with his strength Cole knew it would be very hard to fight these guys. While he did not have set patterns like bosses, they looked like and probably did have the co-ordination that made it possible for Denizen Adventurers and Aspirant Players to defeat bosses way out of their level in league.
These guys were going to fight as if he was the game and they were the players. Cole knew just how dangerous players from earth can be for things like this…. now he needed to see if these creatures could match up to it.
