It was incredibly humid and frankly speaking it was taking all of Cole's energy not to take his armor off, it was downright irritating if he has to be honest, how it was possible for elves to live in such a place was baffling. Either way they had been dropped just ten minutes ago, Cole had no idea which spot in London they had been dropped, but it was not too far from the river, the famed London bridge could be seen through small gaps in the dense foliage.
"We need to keep our eyes opened, this location is a hot spot of elvish activity and every team or drone we've sent in here has either been destroyed or never heard from again. Our priorities would be to push for the dungeon, but if we can establish a foothold, that would be for the best. Secondary objectives would be to either rescue our capture allies….if they're still alive, or capture any one of the invaders for questioning. You have your orders men….move out!"
Cole watched impassively as the soldier gave orders, his British accent was thick, almost to the point Cole could hardly follow with what he was saying. But then again he could be considered the one that has an accent, after all, they don't call the British Englishmen for nothing. Never the less Cole summoned [Methuselah] and shifted his attention back to the forest. There was about a dozen soldiers here with him, but he was not leading.
In hindsight his job here is to be a glorified baby sitter. He was to move at their pace as they cleared the forest, he was to be the battering ram that would stand against the elvish forces, the bait and the shield that would ensure they made it farther than they had before. Whatever the forces here would be able to achieve, it would be up to how far Cole himself could go. Suddenly there was a bird call.
Cole immediately raised his hand up, bringing the squad to a halt as he shifted his eyes to the left. The entire forest had fallen silent, so much so that Cole could not even hear the little critters that were within the earth. The bird call went up again and it was reciprocated from a whole other different direction, and then another. Very much in the manner you would see or rather hear from bird.
"What's wrong, it's just the birds?" one of the soldiers said to him, derision in his voice as Cole turned to him and said.
"Those aren't birds, now shut the fuck up, calm the fuck down and let me work. I can focus with you disgust and irritation at me being broadcast at full power. You should learn to control your emotions sir, and I would say the same for the rest of you. I don't want to be here either, but I'm helping to save you fucking city…..be grateful rather than thinking I'm a disgrace to humanity for changing my race and becoming too greedy."
Most of the soldiers took a step back, one of them even raised his rifle in Cole's direction prompting him to raise an eyebrow. It doesn't show up in his skills, but as a Raen, or probably it was an effect from sin seeking eyes. Cole could feel emotions and at the same time he had a little bit of telepathy to fall back on, knowing what these guys were thinking did not cost much of an effort on his part.
"If those aren't birds? Then what are they?" the commander asked as he gave quick hand signs that got the rest of the soldiers to form up around. Everyone was back to back their nerves stretched taut in preparation for an attack.
"i didn't notice it earlier, but they have been watching and following us from the moment we landed. There are elves camouflaged in the trees with arrows all pointed in your direction." It was not as if Cole could pierce through their camouflage, these were elves, in forests, honesty Cole did not think there were many races that could compete with them. At least all the legends say so.I think you should take a look at
"Turn back humans or die! This place now belongs to elven federation, any further step on your part would be seen as a declaration of war, and will ensure that we brig down upon you the full might of the federation which covers a thousand and three hundred and forty six planets and 9 dimensions! Surrender!" Cole raised an eyebrow at that, the commander spoke up.
"We are the united forces of Great Britain! You are trespassing and as such are advise to remove yourselves immediately or we will resort to lethal force." the reply he got however was one Cole was sure he would never forget as an arrow went through his knee.
"Aargh! My knee!"
"You should learn to be silent when you betters are speaking worm!" the elvish voice responded to the commander. He looked like he was about to order them to open fire, but Cole knew it would do anything…..they were way out of their league with this one. So he took charge, in the end it seemed the only way to deal with this was to do it his way.
*BANG!*
Cole slammed his spear on the ground as he reached his hand out to touch the commander. [Demonic Constitution] was utilized as Cole focused on its healing aspect and closed up the wound on the Commander's knee. Then he turned in the direction where he now knew the elf was talking from and said.
"You came into out reality, onto our planet and you took the lives of the guilty and innocent alike. You've turned what was the homes of good God fearing people into a jungle of death. Look around you, you've brought desolation and destruction, even I can smell the amount of death your arrival has wrought on this city.
You say any step further would be seen as a declaration of war….you stupid fucks turned half of London into a zoo and kill thousands if not millions in the process. This is already a war, and we didn't start it. But I can assure you long eared freaks...that we will be the ones to end it…..
