Tehila scoffed, it did not matter what this woman was going to say or do, if she liked she could even be as powerful or even more powerful than Cole for all she cared, but if since she has laid a finger on this city…HER CITY! She needs to die. Tehila seemed to draw upon the will of the territory as the eldritch black, red and purple flames of chaos danced around her body.
But just as the territory gave her energy it too drew from her. Tehila was unique, never in all of the 25 incursion of the system has there been a person who got their race changed, and even started mastering their abilities before interaction with the system. She was an enigma that did not need the system to grow stronger, it was as if she was her own system, and that gave her limited power and authority over reality itself.
But given how weak and low leveled she was, there really wasn't much she could bring to the table, especially since she had just entered the early silver rank. In a fight against a being of the Pontifex's caliber, she could perhaps use her reality affecting abilities to slow her down, but she would be just too weak to cause any damage.
However she was not as the Pontifex had put it an Oracle…..Tehila was an anomaly. She didn't know it yet but she was becoming an entity on a whole other level, very much in line with Cole's evolution as a Raen. The first a new race, energy had been infused into her from another universe, using another living being's body, spirit and soul as a conduit. The connection to the system the energy came from was terminated from the conduit, Cole himself.
This allowed all those energies to infuse and and change her. A singular unique being, similar to another but different on a fundamental level. A concept coming alive…..something eldritch…..something dangerous...something Divine.
"STOP!!"
The Pontifex was frozen in place with her swords held at the ready. But it was not just her, all over the battlefield, for longer than just a moment, people had frozen in place. It did not matter which side there were on, Darkling or Raen or Denizen. There was no movement, only command and absolute obedience to the authority behind the word spoken.
This was fundamental, as everything stopped, and to the person who it was directed to, the Pontifex. Her very heart stopped as her lungs ceased to expand and blood stood stagnant in her veins. She was dead, or she at least seemed that way for a moment before the echo of the word wore off and reality resumed.
The Pontifex crashed to the ground, and a second later she let lose a gasp of air before raising her head up to look at Tehila who had also crashed to the ground, a hand on her head as blood poured out of her nose and ears. Unfortunately, even with how powerful her abilities are, it was only a potential of what she could become when she gets stronger. But unfortunately without the system she could not gain anything from it. No prisms, no exp, no classes or levels.
Delarosa did not leg the opportunity Tehila had created for her go to waste. And she was not the only one who thought so, as Cassandra, Farida and Thunder-Jack pressed the attack, with Irma and Pollux offering support from a distance. Morgan and Neral were covering Tehila, this had turned into a true full blown out boss fight. And while the Pontifex worried, the Raens…..The Raens were smiling.I think you should take a look at
Delarosa reached her first her sword stabbing towards the Pontifex's stomach. But before the blade could reach her, a shadow showed up underneath Delarosa's sliding form as she vanished, and just in time to Evade the Pontifex's counter strike, a barrage of thing needle like blood that were almost invincible in the chaos.
The attacks hit nothing as Thunder-Jack charged him with a massive spear sweep, lightning dancing allover his body and then weapon. The Pontifex had good instincts, plus she was able to track everyone by the blood in their bodies, making it possible for her to detect and evade any attacks sent her way. She raised a blood shield that developed cracks from the impact of Thunder-Jack's spear. But it held as blasted the shield into thunder-Jack.
The man dug hi spear into the ground as Cassandra flew over his head, her feet smashing straight into the Pontifex's nose, grinding her nose to bits and blasting her backwards and straight into the waiting arms of Delarosa, who wrapped her hands around the Pontifex's chest as she reached her Peak.
Blood spikes surged out of the Pontifex's body in an attempt to Impale Delarosa, but to no avail as this mistress of a demon sword with power over shadow equal to none was unharmed, the spikes passing harmlessly through her body as she turned angling them to the ground head first.
"This one is for you Rock Lee sensei"
They both fell to the ground, crashing into it headfirst as Tehila rolled her eyes. She and Delarosa's daily anime binge watching routine, might be influencing the shadow rogue a little bit too much. But still she was able to deliver a sure and debilitating strike to the Pontifex.
From the cloud of dust and wood in the air, Delarosa Shot out of it, keeping low to the ground and gliding like wuxia heroes. The Pontifex followed, half her face a ruined mess as she struggled to heal it. Thunder-Jack was there to intercept as he swung his spear, re;leasing a wave of lightning that rushed at the Pontifex.
More blood shields were summoned to defend against the Lightning wave. But the very moment they came down an arrow peaked through the gap and took her in the eye. Her screams of pain agony reached the high heavens as the Pontifex tried to call for reinforcements. But there was nobody to answer, her army was getting decimated by the second, ans a few moments she saw why as Cole landed from the sky, cratering the ground and looking very different than normal.
