Volume 3, Chapter 0: Summary
I don’t need any relationships, I have no desire for a girlfriend, and I only require one friend of value. Having thrown away my ‘Youth’ for the sake of efficiency, I, Ooboshi Akiteru, hate wasting talent and time more than anything in this crucial race called life—Or so I think to myself, but there’s one person who keeps barging into my room.
Kohinata Iroha. Neither a little sister nor a friend, nowhere near a lover, she’s just a friend’s little sister. This playful and annoying kouhai of mine, Iroha, holds one secret. That is, she acts in the shadows of the mysterious game app developer, the [5th Floor Alliance].
The [5th Floor Alliance] consists of the producer, me, the genius programmer OZ aka Kohinata Ozuma, our illustrator Murasaki Shikibu-sensei aka Kageishi Sumire, as well as the new rising star of the light novel world, the best-selling author Makigai Namako, who for unknown reasons agreed to become our scenario writer.
Our magnum opus, ‘The Night the Black Goat Screamed’, was built using both horror elements as well as charming and likable characters, giving it a huge boost in popularity. And it’s gained a large number of downloads! Of course, the mysterious voice actor who took part in this game was none other than Kohinata Iroha. With just her own voice, she’s able to act out characters of young and old, boys and girls alike. That superb talent earned her the title ‘Holder of the Rainbow-Colored Voice’—
Due to certain circumstances of hers, Iroha is unable to officially take up the job, so I had to create opportunities and an environment that enabled her to do it. I don’t need any reward for that. It’s all because I hate unnecessarily wasting precious talent. That’s all there is to it, really.
But even with that intent in mind, Iroha’s been acting weirdly annoying towards me ever since that one time. She goes barging into my room, showing off her well-developed body and tasting my flustered reactions and teasing me, and to top it off, she only acts like that towards me.
Those nonchalant, enduring days continued, until the sudden appearance of the transfer student Tsukinomori Mashiro. The situation reached its climax after her ‘confession’. Naturally, I rejected Mashiro in order to prioritize the [5th Floor Alliance], rejecting my youth as always, but Mashiro showed no intention of giving up. She pulled all the stops as a fake girlfriend trying to make me fall in love with her. And if that wasn’t enough, my illustrator, Murasaki Shikibu-sensei, joined the frenzy—
“Please—Marry me.”
Whilst prostrating herself before me, the words she muttered sent a new wave of trouble through our midst…
Again with that development?
