Chapter 95
This side, Ji Nian had been rehearsing for several days in an orderly manner, and soon it was time for the concert. This weekend was destined to be an extraordinary one.
Half a month before the concert, Yu Luobai's team had already begun warming up online. The tickets were sold out, leaving no seats available, and those who didn't get tickets were eagerly anticipating the online and TV livestreams on the day itself.
As a god-like existence in the entertainment industry, Yu Luobai's fans spanned various age groups. Since he debuted as a child star, he had mom fans, girlfriend fans, and all kinds of fans.
As a top-tier celebrity in the domestic entertainment industry, he currently has the most Weibo followers among actors, with a staggering 160 million fans, far surpassing other celebrities.
Ji Nian arrived early at the film set this morning, and the young Shen Shuyao was overjoyed, beaming with happiness all morning and whispering in her ear.
"Little Nian, you're amazing! These are VIP seats, the closest to your idol," Shen Shuyao exclaimed, having found a place to keep her ticket and autograph safe after obtaining them last time, afraid of creasing them.
A single ticket made the female lead that excited for so long. If she interacted with Yu Luobai every day, wouldn't she be so thrilled that she'd faint?
Ji Nian looked helpless and said, "President Ye is Yu Luobai's cousin, so they're relatives."
Shen Shuyao looked stunned, her eyes filled with disbelief. "This... Azhen never mentioned it..."
"Maybe you didn't ask," Ji Nian said with a smile.
"Ahhhhhhh!" Shen Shuyao exclaimed excitedly, then quickly covered her mouth when she noticed people looking over, and whispered as she leaned closer, "Little Nian, I'm so happy!"
"You might even become relatives in the future," Ji Nian teased with a mischievous look. "I'll have to call you sister-in-law, hahaha."
Shen Shuyao's face turned red, feeling a bit embarrassed. "Alright, enough. I need to read the script."
Ji Nian knew the female lead was shy, so she smiled, "Remember to ask for leave tonight to go to the concert. I need to go for rehearsals first."
"Go ahead," Shen Shuyao waved her hand.
Since Ji Nian didn't have many scenes today, she left early after informing the director, hurrying to the company.
Upon arrival at the company, she saw Yu Luobai's team rushing to pack clothes, props, and other items.
Ji Nian noticed Yu Luobai standing not far away, looking serious as he spoke to several people. CHeCk for new stories on no/v/el/bin(.)c0m
"Mr. Yu," Ji Nian called out softly.
Yu Luobai noticed her and a hint of warmth flashed in his eyes. "Today we're going to the venue for a run-through. We'll take the same car later."
"What would you like to eat? I'll treat you," Yu Luobai asked, amused.
"Then I'll make you pay for the most expensive," Ji Nian teased mischievously.
Yu Luobai shook his head helplessly. "The most expensive doesn't necessarily mean the best."
"Is Mr. Yu being stingy now?" Ji Nian joked.
Yu Luobai tapped her head. "Don't worry about the food. I'll make the arrangements."
Ji Nian was patted on the head again affectionately and froze for a moment. Then she looked at the man, who seemed completely natural about it.
She blinked her eyes. Although she had some thoughts initially, she suddenly felt that she must have been overthinking it.
When they arrived at the stadium, they saw crowds of people around, with fans holding support banners and a bunch of reporters standing at the entrance.
Peng He, seeing the situation, quickly instructed the driver to take a detour to the underground parking lot.
"So many people?" Ji Nian looked bewildered.
"Some fans come to show their support early, and some who couldn't get tickets will wait outside the concert venue to listen," Yu Luobai patiently explained.
"And then they're hoping to run into you, right? Just in case?" Ji Nian pondered for a moment and asked.
Yu Luobai nodded with a smile. "Yes."
"Wow, I envy you, Mr. Yu. You have so many fans," Ji Nian exclaimed in admiration. No wonder he was the king of celebrities - even before the concert started, fans were already waiting in droves outside.
"Little Nian, you'll have many fans in the future too," Peng He said from the back with a smile.
"I don't really care about that," Ji Nian smiled cheerfully. "Whether I'm famous or not doesn't matter to me. As long as I have work and money to spend, a stable life - that's my life goal."
A glint of amusement flashed in Yu Luobai's eyes. After spending so much time with her, he had already noticed her easygoing nature. She did things at her own pace and didn't care much for fame or fortune, always appearing carefree and happy.
"So you're quite easily satisfied," Peng He said with a smile.
"As long as I'm happy, that's all that matters, right, Mr. Yu?" Ji Nian smiled, glancing at the man.
Yu Luobai's lips curved into a smile as he nodded in agreement. "Just focus on being happy."
