Chapter 151: Transfer of Resources
After Dong Tianze disappeared, Pang Jian looked at the faintly glowing saplings and seeds with a frown and muttered, "No manners at all. I wasn't even finished talking."
He had intended to ask how the Shadow Specter Sect communicated and traded with those in the Fifth World. He had also wanted to learn more about the otherworldly beings in the Fifth World and how the Shadow Specter Sect and the Sinister Soul Temple viewed them.
Unexpectedly, Dong Tianze left as soon as the trade was over.
"Is Dong Tianze an idiot?" Luo Hongyan could not hold back her laughter any longer. "I didn't expect him to accept your request to trade through the Ghost Altar. He collected so many saplings and seeds for you.
"Pang Jian, what made you so sure he would respond to you?"
After a moment of hesitation, Pang Jian replied, "Don't you think there's something wrong with his head? When he gets agitated and violent, his thoughts become chaotic and unclear. He seems unstable."
"Uh..." Luo Hongyan's beautiful eyes showed a hint of surprise as she chuckled. "You think he's an idiot?"
Pang Jian nodded. "I've always felt he wasn't quite right in the end. I don't think he often receives acknowledgment from others, and there seems to be psychological reasoning behind his fierceness. I wasn't sure he would agree to trade with me, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to try."
"Alright," Luo Hongyan said with a smile. She then glanced at the saplings and seeds scattered around the cave and asked curiously, "Can you tell me what you plan to do with these things now?"
Although she was puzzled about Pang Jian's intentions with the saplings and seeds, she still supported Pang Jian unconditionally.
"It's not me who needs them." Pang Jian pulled out the door-shaped bronze pendant from inside his clothes. "It's the bronze pendant that needs them."
Luo Hongyan's eyes flashed in understanding and she wisely left the cave entrance without asking any more questions. She was well aware of the mystical nature of the bronze pendant, so his simple answer was enough for everything to make sense to her.
Pang Jian sat among the saplings and seeds, holding the bronze pendant as he knitted his brows in thought. "I could place these saplings and seeds into my spatial bracelet, then return to the black turtle's fragmented land. From there, I could bring them to Misty Swamp through the black turtle, but..."
Pang Jian was slightly troubled.
He had previously traveled to the Giant Abyssal Serpent through the World Eater Vine and returned to the World Eater Vine using the same method.
Based on his previous experiences, he could locate the wondrous beings nurtured in the bronze pendant through it and travel between them using its power.
The problem was he needed to return to the black turtle's fragmented land to travel between the Third and Fourth Worlds to deliver the saplings and seeds to the World Eater Vine in Misty Swamp.
This would take considerable time and he would be forced to cancel his plans to travel to Old Monster Cao's territory with Luo Hongyan.
Is there a way to do this directly through the bronze pendant?
Pang Jian racked his brain as he tried to figure out an alternative.
Holding the bronze pendant in his left palm, he traced its surface using his right hand as he established a connection with the World Eater Vine.
Objects can be transferred through the Ghost Altar. Perhaps the bronze pendant could do it too.
Sensing the World Eater Vine in Misty Swamp, he mentally repeated his wish, hoping to trigger something unusual.
He felt a sudden chill in his palm!
An ice crystal, imbued with spatial power, covered the bronze pendant in frost, and a circle of mystical light rippled from his palm.
It had recently gained self-awareness and intelligence and thus realized the immense value of the saplings and seeds. Unable to express itself complexly, it could only repeatedly communicate its thanks to Pang Jian.
Inside the cave in the Third World, Pang Jian felt exhausted after the last batch of saplings and seeds disappeared into the glowing light of the bronze pendant
"It worked..." He sighed, cutting off his connection with the World Eater Vine as he swallowed a Mind Soothing Pill.
The joy and gratitude of the little tree made Pang Jian smile.
"Dong Tianze gave me a surprise, and I, in turn, gave the little tree a big surprise," Pang Jian murmured with a smile. "I'm sure that sending these saplings and seeds to the World Eater Vine will lead to a remarkable transformation in Misty Swamp!"
The World Eater Vine would only grow more rapidly, eventually becoming the terrifying source of murky energy that Li Yuqing had mentioned.
Pang Jian believed that the little tree, which had profound trust and reliance on him, would surely reward him with a great surprise once it grew.
The black turtle and the little tree are much more loyal than that traitor.
With a light snort, Pang Jian established a connection with the Giant Abyssal Serpent.
***
In the Fifth World, the Celestial Maiden stroked the forehead of the Giant Abyssal Serpent, sighing as she stared at a barren stone mountain in front of her and lamented, "There's no thunder or lightning in our Fifth World. Where can we find Thunderstruck Wood?
"Solar Essence Stones only have a small chance of forming in mountain ranges and mines exposed to sunlight. The sun, moon, or stars cannot be seen in the Fourth World above us. Even if our warriors reach the Fourth World, it'll be difficult for them to find.
"Gold Obsidian is also scarce in this Fifth World. The Fifth World is at the lowest level and never sees the light of day. But what can we do?"
Thunderstruck Wood, Solar Essence Stones, Gold Obsidian...
As he listened to the Celestial Maiden through the Giant Abyssal Serpent, Pang Jian realized he had some Thunderstruck Wood and Gold Obsidian on him. These materials had come from the deceased rogue cultivators on Ice Rock Island and were leftover from his trade with Dong Tianze.
After a moment of contemplation, Pang Jian had an idea.
Maintaining his connection with the Giant Abyssal Serpent, he mentally repeated his wish, just as he had done with the World Eater Vine.
The pendant was once again encased in ice crystal and let off a radiant light.
It worked!
Pang Jian retrieved the Gold Obsidian and Thunderstruck Wood from his spatial bracelet and tossed them into the glowing pendant.
Suddenly, he felt a sharp pain in his abdomen!
He soon realized the pain was not his but the Giant Abyssal Serpent's!
Wooo!
The Giant Abyssal Serpent in the Fifth World felt an inexplicable pain, its pitch-black eyes filled with terror as it writhed on the ground, rolling back and forth in agony. As it struggled, it started to howl and retch.
Plop!
The Giant Abyssal Serpent vomited chunks of gold-colored stones and branches with lightning patterns.
