Chapter 7 - You should Go

The four Lings sat down together for dinner. Ling Yue discharged two days ago.

"I have informed our father about your condition," Ling Feng spoke casually after drink his water. Ling Yue's spoon in her hand stopped mid-air.

"Whaat?"

If their father knew. She will...

"He expects you to go there after your graduation."

"No, I dont want to." Ling Yue said softly. She stopped eating and put her utensils. "Brother--"

"Huansheng will be going with you. He will transfer and resume his study there."

Ling Yue glanced at his little brother. He still ate gracefully, not distrubed with what Ling Feng said.

"But it will not comfortable for Ah Sheng. He's at his last year school. Adapting in the last year was difficult, especially at overseas. Their lessons and standarts are not the same as here." Ling Yue tried reasoning using Ling Huansheng. She needed bite her lips when Ling Huansheng responded with :

"I dont mind. Everywhere is the same for me."

"Good. It's settle then." Ling Feng clapped his hands. "Oh by the way, I'll joining military this year."

Ling Yue looked at him with unreadable expression. "Congratulation." she said.

Ling Feng just nodded his head. "That's why you should go. I'll rarely at home and Huang will busy too with his medical classes. We can't follow you for the time being."

Ling Yue's lips twitched but she still spoke softly. "It's okay though."

"No, it is not." Now Ling Huang voiced his mind. "I can't concentrate if you still around without protection."

"You can assign me someone from headquarter for me." Ling Yue dispirited if her two brother already had agreed.

"They're too busy to babysit a children." Huang said without a mercy.

They ended the dinner after that. Ling Yue back to her room noiselessly. She lay down and stared the ceiling.

Two months. She will be gone in the next two months and joined her father overseas. Their father was a military man. After their mother died, he accepted every assignment without hesitation. And when he was assigned abroad, he did.

He went five years ago. Only back to home once in every years. All of people here knew how deep his love for their mother thus when his wife gone, he drowned himself at work. Ling Yue felt awkward when she was around him. Despite he always doting on her like her brother, there was a thin wall he built around him. She fell asleep while reminiscing about the past.

"Let's go!" Ling Feng dragged their luggage to departure direction. Ling Huang and Ling Huansheng already ahead by few meters. They stopped right in front of the gate.

"I don't wanna go. I wanna stay with all of you here." tears gathered in Ling Yue's starry eyes when Ling Feng and Ling Huang gave them their ticket. He Luo patted her head. He came to said goodbye too.

Ling Feng hugged her. His eyes started teary a bit. "You are better be there than here. Everything's gonna be okay. Don't cry." and then he hugged his little brother. He spoke only for Ling Huansheng's hearing "Be safe and protect her," which Ling Huansheng answered with a nod.

Ling Huang gave them a tight hug. Tears already tricked down in his eyes.

"Take care both of you."

They parted only when the last minute of the announcement was heard.
