Chapter 9 - Surprise!

Ling Yue tossed her butt on the sofa. She had just been take a stroll around the mansion, looking around if anything had changed, but everything looked the same as before she left.

"What were you doing?" Ling Yue spotted his brother played with his laptop.

"Nothing. I got a call from dad and grandpa earlier. Dad asked if we arrived safely. And grandpa want to see me..."

"Oh."

"...and you. Tomorrow." Ling Huansheng smirked.

Ling Yue grumbled. Not her brother or her grandfather, they all treated her like a princess in the damsel-in-distress. And Ling Yue only found out that her father did the same thing for these past years.

Even worst.

It turns out the reason why his father distanced himself from her was not because she was timid or shy. He couldn't bear the feeling of losing his precious family. He was afraid that Ling Yue would be cursed like the other predecessor women in their family.

A curse that said women in their family would not be able to live long.

Did they really believe such a funny curse like that?

Ling Yue sneered.

Now she was back, her grandfather eagerly wants to keep her with him. "I'll think about it later."

She glanced at the clock above. "Anyway where are those two? Why I can't see them until now?"

Dinner time has passed long ago but Ling Feng and Ling Huang still not showed up yet.

"Let's go! Change your cloth," Ling Yue sat up and headed upstairs.

"Where?"

"Surprise our brother," she winked.

Ling Huang exited the operation room and talked with patient's family outside the room. Their anxiety disappeared when Ling Huang said the critical period had passed.

He stood for ten hours more or less, staggered making his way into his office. His face looked tired. When he reached his door office and opened it, he almost struk with a heart attack. Something jumped towards him.

"Huang gegeeee!"

Startled. Ling Huang panicked reaching out his hand to find the light switch. He pressed it and the room immediately full of light. He saw a young man leaning on his table with a smirk on his face.

"Surprisee~" he said nonchalantly.

Something, or someone that hanging on his body stepped back, by that he seen it clearly who it was.

"You!"

All his tired or his exhaused flew outside the windows. He gave them a tight hug one by one.

"I almost forgot both of you returned today."

He sat on his chair. "Let me take a breath first."

Ling Yue sat opposite him while Ling Huansheng observed his office.

"How did you two can enter my office?" he asked as remembering something. This was a special floor in this building that had a very high level of security. Only certain people had access to it. It was because the rooms on this floor were full of the best doctor's experiments in the country.

Ling Yue laughed. She lifted her chin, pointed at his brother.

"You hacked it?" Ling Huang asked suspiciously. Ling Huansheng ignored him.

"No, of course not. We used very traditional way," Ling Yue answered on his behalf.

"Did you?" He still didn't believed it.

"Tell me brother, with his face asking sweetly, who will not let him in?" Ling Yue's eyebrow raised slightly.

Ling Huang cursed those nurses who were fond of handsome-looking people. They need to be disciplined.

"You looked horrible. Have you had your dinner yet?" Ling Yue looked at him, concerned.

Ling Huang shook his head. He looked at them one by one. The last time he met them was two years ago, when Ling Huang had a international conference there.

"How about you?"

"Me and Ah Sheng already had our dinner. We wait for long but you didn't back. Feng-ge too," Ling Yue pouted.

Ling Huang laughed. "Sorry. I couldn't ignore people's life." He took his phone. "Let's give Ling Feng a call."
