Chapter 21 - New Case

At underground parking,

Ling Yue saw where Ling Huansheng's car parked. Ling Huansheng waited in the car with his assistant, who had a role as a driver, today.

"Why are you taking so long? I almost came in and picked you up." Ling Huansheng grumbled.

"Then why don't you come in? You can eat inside as well."

"I'm not in the mood for Chinese food. Let's go to a Western restaurant."

Ling Yue took off her glasses and lifted her bangs. From the rear view mirror, Liu Chen could clearly see the person who had entered had changed dramatically. He almost crashed into a parking pole in amazement.

Liu Chen shrunk as much as possible, when he saw Ling Huansheng's glare at the same mirror. This was the first time he seen Ling Huansheng's sister.

"Why did you take it off?" said Ling Huansheng fiercely. "Wear it again!"

Ling Yue snickered, but reattached her glasses. "Grumpy," she hissed.

They didn't stay in the restaurant very long. Ling Yue had to report back her work to Du Zhuang. Ling Huansheng also must return immediately for a meeting. Ling Huansheng drove her in front of DuChen's office and resumed his journey. Without them knowing, someone was watching from afar.

Du Zhuang gave her a pat on her shoulder when Ling Yue finished reporting the agreement of his client and King Empire.

"Finally! Good job, Ling Yue! I'm not mistaken for accepting you!"

Chen Liang, who happened to be in Du Zhuang's room, gave her a hug. "You deserve a bonus for this, right Zhuang?"

"Yes, yes, of course! Oh I'd loved to see how An Ruan looked like at that time!" he still chuckled, remembering Ling Yue's story. Chen Liang laughed too.

Ling Yue frowned. They were like children. Happy for the suffering of others. More precisely, the suffering of his enemy. Obviously, there were plenty people who didn't like that famous lawyer.

Ling Yue returned to her room and found a slender woman waiting for her inside. Lu Lian gave a brief explanation before the new boss asked.

Ling Yue held out her hand. "Hello, can I help you?"

"I heard you're a great lawyer here. I want a divorce. Can you process it quickly?" she said so while crossing her arms in front of her chest.

'where did you hear that nonsense?'

Her lips twitched. "Can you tell me what happened first?"

The woman looked hesitant for a moment. "I can't talk about it."

"I can't process anything without a clear reason." Ling Yue said firmly. She hated handling divorce cases the most.

The shoulder-length's hair woman wrung her own hands. Anxiety can be seen from his attitude. "If I say it, can you keep it a secret?" She asked slowly.

Ling Yue nodded. The woman opened her mouth and the story began.

Ling Yue slammed the file in her hand, furious. She called her assistant. Lu Lian rushed in.

"You!" Ling Yue pointed directly at her face, "Never allow anyone else to enter my office no matter what they say!" she yelled.

"Wh-what happened Miss Ling?" Lu Lian stuttered. This was the first time Lu Lian saw her wrath. The poor glasses tossed on the table. She blurted out every single swear words, made Lu Lian shuddered. She didn't dare lifted her head even once.

As long as she knew, the woman before only asked for a divorce. Why after the woman left, her boss turned into the devil?

"No, I won't take this case." Ling Yue grabbed the file and then strode out, leaving the nervous Lu Lian.

Du Zhuang, who had still chat with Chen Liang asked Ling Yue when the latter knocked his door.

"What's--?"

'Whoaaa is this really a their new colleague?' Du Zhuang felt a pleasant aura when he was with her, but always regretted her appearance that was not trendy, a frayed bangs and ugly glasses - Du Zhuang was sure they were a trend decades ago - and ordinary clothes.

But this woman who just entered doesn't look out of date, she looks attractive. If only Du Zhuang had not married, he would not think twice and hit on her. Du Zhuang coughed to hide his mind.

"What's up?"

"You know I got a new case, right?" Ling Yue convinced that Du Zhuang had accepted the woman's case. That's why she was in her room.

"Yes. What's the matter?"

"I won't take it," she put the file in front of him and refused right away. For someone who just joined this firm, she really daring to reject her only case.
