Chapter 34 - Her Number

"Boss, this is the CCTV recording yesterday," Bai Xu put the flash drive on Xi Jian's desk. He stayed up all night staring at the contents of the recording but nothing suspicious. "Nobody approached Mr. He after you left until Miss Ling came."

Xi Jian clenched his fist. Yesterday night, He Luo called Xi Jian to accompany him for drink.

He drank a few glasses while listening to He Luo's outpouring and his heartbroken stories, after that, he went briefly to the restroom and when he returned, he found Ling Yue sitting there.

"Get Ling's cell — no, I'll do it myself. Get all the detail about her, whom she met or what she done. I want all the name. You dismissed."

"Yes, sir." Bai Xu excused himself to carry on his new task. Xi Jian made a call to Ling Feng and asked Ling Yue's number.

"What for?" Ling Feng sounded suspicious.

"Someone hacked He Luo phone and called her out."

On the other place. Ling Feng stood immediately. "What? How?"

"I don't know, she said He Luo called, but that guy said he didn't even have her number."

"Maybe he's too drunk to remember a thing," he said. Ling Feng even doubted his own words. No one spoke for a moment.

Ling Feng stared at screen in front of him. It showed a large map and a lot of information about their mission this time. His subordinate wait for him further instruction. He really wanted to go to Ling Yue's side and investigate it himself, but not now. He couldn't abandone it and divert his attention.

"Sir, this is what you ask, I can't get to much information about her especially when she lived abroad." Bai Xu'd need extra time to dug some information. Usually, he only did it within few minutes. But for this, he almost spent a day searching everywhere, legal or not, he found nothing. This woman was gone and returning to this country just like that. "It looks like someone is watching and deliberately covering up her track record."

He was surprised to find the fact that Ling Yue came from that strong influential Ling family. In recent weeks, Ling Inc. aggressively developing their company, only in a matter of months after the new heir took over.

Slowly but surely they try to overcome the King Empire. King Empire'd not be easily defeated in the next few generations if it is in Xi Jian's hands. "That's true," he tapped his long fingers on the file. "Tomorrow, find manager Shi, ask him to recruit Ling Yue in the legal team at any cost. Tell him 'that' lawyer's suspended was lifted and he was fired from the team. Find a room for her as close as possible to this room. I'll give you two days. You can go home for now," he ordered.

See? Bai Xu winced inwardly. The King Empire's destruction days was near.
