Chapter 55 - Not Really

Xi Jian took her glasses he had in his pocket, placed it on Ling Yue's face and naturally fixed her bangs.

"Just do as you wish, but don't overdo it. I'll have a meeting first."

Ling Yue was almost shuddered. What's wrong with him?

"Uh, about that factory--"

"You've done your part. Leave the rest to me. I'll make sure we keep the agreement." Xi Jian then left Ling Yue who was still stunned.

Bai Xu bowed before following Xi Jian into the meeting room. There was already people gathering in charge of the factory in Tong Zhou. They were all called to the head office as soon as Xi Jian received all reports about the situation there.

One by one the faces in the room turned pale. Xi Jian sat intimidating from the main seat.

"Who wants to talk first?" once he opened his mouth, no one dared to look at him. "Mr. Bai?"

Bai Xu handed over the file in his hand as soon as Xi Jian asked. "The head office has received a letter from the court and sent the appropriate compensation to the branch office to be submitted directly to the residents there. This is the proof of the handover signed by Mr. Sun."

"What?" a middle-aged woman looked at Sun Yaoxiang. She then sat back when she realized Xi Jian looked at her. "Sorry, Mr. Xi, my name is Ma Yuri, I'm the head of the production division. Mr. Sun said if the headquarters did not respond about complaints from residents."

The other division heads nodded. "He said the managing director also ignored the situation outside."

The director manager who sat in front of the factory manager glared. "What do you mean?"

Sun Yaoxiang, who was the factory manager, sat in a cold sweat.

"Mr. Sun?" Xi Jian's voice boomed in Sun Yaoxiang's ear.

"Mr. Xi, I - I -" he found no defense of himself without dragging others. Sun Yaoxiang looked at the director manager who was glaring with another meaning.

If he opens his mouth. The two of them will obviously be fired and he won't be able to support his family anymore. "I used the money for my purposes. I'm sorry," he chose to end his own career, at least the manager's director had promised to help him if he was fired.

Xi Jian looked at the people in there. Clearly, some do not know what happened, and the rest had their conspiracy. What made him not happy, the person who became the scapegoat did not mention the name of others as he anticipated.

Grandfather Xi appointed him as his heir without considering other lineages. That's what makes these people angry and do anything to overthrow him. Xi Jian had known for a long time that rats had been planted to eat away the company from the inside.  He was just waiting for the right time to finish them all and now not the time, yet.

"Find a way to fulfill the compensation at all costs. You have 24 hours. If you miss the limit, be prepared to close the factory." Instead of just firing one or two people, Xi Jian chose to cut off his own branch.

"Mr. Xi ..."

"Return to your original office." Xi Jian stood up and left the shock-faced people there.

Xi Jian halted his steps to his room and looked at his watch. Office time was up, some employees have gone home. But he wanted to check Ling Yue's room, only to make sure that the woman had also returned to her home. To his surprise, that woman was still sitting in front of her laptop.

"What are you doing?"

Ling Yue was so absorbed in reading the novel that she forgot the time. She stood up abruptly when she heard Xi Jian's voice.

"W-what?"

"Why are you still here? Are there so many office tasks?" with his hands in the pants pocket, Xi Jian entered Ling Yue's office.

Ling Yue hurriedly closed all of her browser windows."No. Not really." She saw Bai Xu standing outside the room. "Is the meeting over?"

Xi Jian muttered. This was the first he had set his pace in this room after he changed it. Despite the room he used to relax in was used by others, he somehow could still felt relax here.

"Let's have dinner together. You haven't eaten yet, right?" Xi Jian who stared at her laptop move his sight to Ling Yue eyes.

Ling Yue nodded automatically and somehow they had arrived at the restaurant.
