Xi Jian could already imagine Ling Feng and his brother would nagging and bothering him in the days ahead for bringing Ling Yue to the public. In her full dress up.

He inhaled and almost choked his breath when his palm touched something soft, smooth and warm.

Ling Yue was electrocuted when Xi Jian's cold hand touch her back. They both were frozen not far from the entrance. He had intended to support Ling Yue so she could walk faster by supporting her back. But, what was that?

Xi Jian took a step backward and swore. Ling Yue's back was barely covered in her dress at all.

"What damn dress are you wearing?!" Xi Jian snapped.

He didn't see that cause he was so focused on staring at Ling Yue front that he forgot to check behind her. Xi Jian should have remembered that women's dresses could lack any fabric anywhere. This backless dress didn't matter if Ling Yue's hair covered it perfectly. But her hair partly fell in front of her and made Xi Jian's hand manage to touch her skin without a hitch.

"Don't swear! You should have said yes when I asked to change it!" Ling Yue hissed.

"Keep your hair from moving," he said before shaking hands with others.

Some people recognized Ling Yue for being present at his grandfather's birthday party and greeting her. Just making a small talk. Xi Jian kept his body behind her and checked her hair many times so it wouldn't open and exposed her back.

Xi Jian's warm body behind her made Ling Yue uncomfortable. Ling Yue still smiled even though her heart danced mercilessly. Her waist felt heavy. Xi Jian's hand hadn't let it go. He would squeeze it if she moved just a bit. Ling Yue could breathe a little when Xi Jian was asked to go onstage.

"Liar!"

Ling Yue heard a familiar voice whispering in her ear. She almost jumped and broke her neck for turned so fast. Ling Huansheng looked handsome in his black coat. Although handsome, his gaze seemed accusing.

"Don't surprise me like that!" Ling Yue slapped his hard stomach. "Who are you accusing a liar?"

He pointed at her with his chin. "Who said they didn't date but came together to the party?"

"Don't be silly. Do couples who come to parties definitely date?" Ling Yue argued.

Ling Huansheng shrugged. "He was never seen with a woman and you ... I know you wouldn't come to a place like this."

Ling Yue's mouth twitched. She knew the words were not wrong, but also not true in a certain sense. "Don't conclude carelessly."

Ling Yue turned her gaze around Ling Huansheng. "Where is your partner?"

"I won't bring a woman unless she's really my partner or I'm after her," he teased.

Ling Yue shook her head. It's useless to talk to people who already have their own beliefs. She turned her gaze to the stage. Xi Jian looks extraordinarily charismatic up there. Ling Yue knew all the women here were eyeing Xi Jian, because of that she was getting an unpleasant look from the moment she entered until now. Moreover, Ling Huansheng was standing next to her. They who didn't know what the relationship they had, must have thought things up.

Xi Jian repeatedly looked at Ling Yue and hurriedly finished his words. From the stage, the people there were not clearly visible, only their silhouettes could be seen. Xi Jian saw someone standing very close to Ling Yue and couldn't wait to get back to her side.

"What is the goddess Yueyue doing here?"

Ling Yue froze when she heard another familiar voice. He Luo smiled broadly and very clearly checked her from head to toe.

"Hello Brother Luo," she said stiffly.

He Luo's offer still ringed in her ears and Ling Yue had not given any answer to him. He Luo realized Ling Yue's attitude had changed a little, but he ignored it.

"You came too?" Xi Jian's voice made the three of them turn their heads.

Ling Huansheng put his hand on Ling Yue's shoulder. His sharp instincts told him to be wary of these two men. He could see He Luo openly interested in Ling Yue. But he can't say the same about Xi Jian. His expression unreadable. Only his gaze looked sharp.

"It's an honor for us to have Mr. Ling and Mr. He attend our launching." Obviously Xi Jian was making small talk.

"Jeez, since when have you been this polite? You usually just come and go as you please without saying anything." He Luo chuckled.

"Just accept my humble greeting," he was a little annoyed.

"That's a really good product, Mr. Xi, it's a shame they don't work with me." Ling Huansheng provides a thick business vibe.

Ling Yue involuntarily muttered, "Yes, if only they try and work with us."

Xi Jian frowned. "You shouldn't say that. You're now my people, Miss Ling."

He Luo was shocked. "What does it mean?"

Ling Huansheng shook his head. "Keep on talking and you can be sued for betraying, Lawyer Ling."

"Is that so?" Ling Yue slapped his hand away on her shoulder and painstakingly walked to Xi Jian's side. She then stuck out her tongue at Ling Huansheng.
