Chapter 85 - Rumor

Ling Yue stared at the screen of her cellphone which was vibrating from earlier. He Luo called her for the second time today. Since their last meeting, he had routinely sent texts and chats for her. He Luo needs to travel to develop his business so he didn't even have time to go home or to visit at Xi Jian at the hospital.

"Hello..."

"Hello YueYue, sorry to call you at office hours, are you busy?"

"No, what's up brother?"

"Do you want to have dinner with me? Today I return to City M and ... I want to meet you." He Luo ventured to say the last part. Ling Yue, who was in a bad mood, didn't pay attention. she said okay and hung up on him. Another call came in again, this time from Ling Huansheng.

"Who are you talking to? I called you and your phone was busy."

"Why did you call?" Ling Yue did not hide her curt tone. Ling Huansheng stared at his cellphone screen for an instant.

Ling Yue rolled her eyes and clicked her tongue. This younger brother was really off-limits. She headed for the elevator and found Bai Xu standing in front of it.

They rode the same elevator after exchanging greetings. As soon as they stepped out of the elevator, Ling Yue's new friends greeted her.

"Do you want to go out for lunch?" one of the female staff asked.

Ling Yue and Bai Xu nodded then looked at each other like 'ohh you too?'

"Looks like the rumors about you guys are true. Well you two really look good together."

Ling Yue, who had wanted to excuse herselft, halt. "Rumors? What rumors?" Ling Yue asked.

Bai Xu also looked confused.

"About you two dating."

"What??"

The two of them said together. Bai Xu felt his back pierced by a thousand nails.

"They say that after seeing you two in the canteen." she added.

Canteen?

Something flashed across their heads. So back then ... "I, that's a totally not true!" Bai Xu said nervously. "I will crack down on anyone who spreads false rumors like that." Bai Xu then faced Ling Yue. "Sorry Miss Ling, it seems like that moment caused a misunderstanding."

The other employee excused themself quickly after bowed to the figure behind him.

Bai Xu stared at Ling Yue's small back which disappeared from view. His feet rooted on the floor as the familiar steps passed beside him.

"I just realized that I hate you Mr. Bai." Xi Jian passed without looking over. He left his personal assistant to the parking lot first.

Bai Xu hurriedly chased after his boss. "Sir, that was just a misunderstanding. At that time I called her because you asked her to come to the hospital immediately." Bai Xu speeded up for Xi Jian and opened the back seat door before entering the driver's seat.

"Did I ask for an explanation?" Xi Jian glanced at him in the rearview mirror.

Ling Yue leaned her back. "This is not a problem that you can solve even if I tell you a stories. So why am I need talking to you?" She said to frustrated Ling Huansheng.

"Even if you don't talk to me. In my own way, I can get whatever information I want." Ling Huansheng was no less arrogant in replying.

Ling Yue chuckled. She forgot what his brother's expertise was. "Alright, alright. Tell me, if there is a man who always clings to you suddenly distancing himself, what might happen to him?"
