After giving the 3 others some basic instructions, he quickly started making preparations. First, he went to the armory where he took the best axe he could find. After taking care of this, he went ahead and took 2 of the 4 horses they had in the stables.

In truth, the plan he made has one huge uncertainty. Before anything else, he would have to go to the volcano and convince the mythical monster to attack the bandits. The monster was probably a fire elemental, a race that often couldn't stop killing once they started, but in truth, Jay wasn't too scared of that.
Using the two horses to their fullest Jay managed to reach the volcano in just a few hours, the volcano went up for about 50 more meters, but as this in its entirety was the elemental's territory, Jay knew he just had to wait for a bit.
And just on queue, he felt the ground beneath him tremble and the volcano shaking, looking as if it was about to erupt. Yet he didn't flee, he knew there was no way the elemental would erupt the volcano for such a tiny being as himself.
After another few moments, a being of about 3 meters tall came out of the volcano. It was quite a simple creature, made from lava from top to bottom in a humanoid shape, with a dark red stone that could faintly be seen deep within its chest.
"Greetings noble Lord of Fire, this lowly peasant has come here to warn you, currently a group of bandits are attacking the nearby town, they are planning to use the town as a base to attack your fiery greatness. This lowly one came to inform you they are currently preparing their assault in the small basin south of here."
Keeping a lowly stature, nobody would think he was anything more than a lowly peasant, terrified of the being before him, he looked as if he was about to burst into tears due to how terrified he was.
A deep sound came from the elemental as it sped right past him, straight towards the bandits. It didn't take long before Jay stood up again his elegant face beaming with confidence.
Soon after he once again was on the horse as he sped West, after a bit he could faintly see the fire elemental fighting with the bandits. In truth, it was more like a slaughter. The bandit's weak weapons simply melted when it touched the lava and with every strike of the elemental a life would be taken.
The awful burns were truly a terrifying sight to behold, even from afar. Jay knew that the fire elemental wouldn't stop there. After all, it had a primitive desire for destruction and was bound to come for the town next. So after a small moment of appreciating the elementals effectiveness, he made his way to the second part of his plan.
If leading a beast to kill the enemies despite casualties gave a C-rank, doing this without casualties would probably get you a B. Now what if you were able to kill the beast as well? Would your rank go up by another 1 or 2 ranks?
These were his thoughts as he decided to lure the elemental right into the basin with the rest of the enemies. and now all he had to do was swing his axe.
The dam to the west of the basin was already quite old, barely able to keep the water in the reservoir. Destroying it was even easier than he had previously expected.
After just a few swings water started seeping through, a few more swings and it started collapsing.
Many of the people below weren't even able to see the water before they were directly pushed down dying a slow and agonizing death under the onslaught of water and the wood that came with it.
Even more terrified, however, was the lava elemental. But there was nothing he could do, a terrifying sound came from the creature as it started slowly turning to stone in the onslaught of water. Its scream scaring away any creature in the nearby forests, including the 2 previously almighty beast kings.

This extremely long list of achievements brought a wide smile on Jay's face, he recalled all the trouble he had to go through in his past life in order to get the 'Mass Murderer' title. He really struck gold getting it this early in this life.
With a mysterious smile, he went towards the newly formed lake once the water stopped flowing. On top of the water, numerous corpses floated, some scorched badly, others impaled by debris. And despite the weight of the stone, the Lave Elemental's corpse was also floating on the surface.
After pushing the large statue towards the shore, he quickly started hitting it with an axe in the center of its chest. Despite it having yet to fully harden, his axe was little more than a stick with a lump of metal on the top once he got to the core he intended to get.
Even though nothing in here could be taken to the actual world, in the 2 upcoming tests this item might come in extremely handy.
He truly didn't have any idea what the second test would be since the second test was directly derived from the results of the first one.
In his last life, he had to fight the undead carcasses of the enemies he killed in the challenge before, but such a thing seemed unlikely now that a bunch of his victims were stuck on the bottom of the basin.
The last remaining hours went by quickly as he repeatedly dived to the bottom of the lake to grab some of the better weapons the enemies held.
In the end, he settled on 2 of the weapons which seemed of significantly better than the others. These were a bow made out of some sort of weird metal and a spear that hadn't taken even the slightest damage despite everything that happened.
After this, he positioned himself directly between the lake and the city, with both of his horses being on opposite ways of him hidden behind some rocks.
Shortly after he had prepared himself the world seemed to turn absolutely still. The insects that remained no longer made any sound and the corpse floating in the water remained in the exact same position. It was as if time had completely stopped.
