Chapter 21: He is unfathomable
Before Isao prepared his instant noodles, he picked some fried foods, some proteins such as boiled egg and sausage, and then a melting cheese, which he put on top of his instant noodles.
When everything was done, the delicious aroma of the seafood broth swept over the space and caused everyone to drool.
Watching Isao, who made such delicious instant ramen with ease, while they felt speechless, they also tried to follow his teaching and what he did by choosing their favorite taste of ramen.
"...I never thought of eating ramen in this kind of situation," Saya said as she slurped her soy sauce ramon.
"Hmn~! It's delicious~! The cheese gives a mellow taste to the ramen~!" Shizuka said excitedly as she ate her curry ramen, shaking her hand and causing her enormous breasts to shake heavily under the constant motion.
"You are going to dirty your shirt with that curry ramen, Sensei," Isao said kindly, looking at Shizuke's chest worriedly. No, he was looking at her shirt!
"Is that the problem here?!" Saya looked mad at Isao, who said that Shizuka would dirty her shirt when she ate curry ramen.
However, why should someone care about the curry stain on their shirt in this type of environment?!
Even if they were as dirty as the homeless, it was fine!
Saeko chuckled as she gracefully ate her miso ramen. "It's fine, isn't it? Everyone is just tired." Yet, looking at Isao, then at her hands, she let out a helpless sigh inwardly.
"I know..." Saya sighed, knowing the conversation between Isao and Shizuka was to smooth and lessen the tension around them. Everyone was tired, especially after such a long, dangerous journey. Moreover, she knew that Isao was the one who burdened the most pressure, so she should give him a break and let him rest for a while.
With that said, she hadn't tried instant noodles and other unhealthy foods in the convenience store as her parents didn't allow her to eat them, and she also felt that they were unhealthy for her body, but she could die anytime, so why should she worry about the instant foods that would damage her body in decades or so?
However, there was one big problem!
The problem was so big that she wondered whether Isao knew the consequences of his action, but nevertheless, she asked, "Why didn't you bring the bus key with you and just leave it there?"
At that moment, everyone was eating or drinking, but even so, they stopped what they were doing after hearing Saya's words.
"Iinuma-kun, try this. It's delicious."
Still, Isao was speechless at Saya's timing when she asked this question.
Yuuki Miku, one of Shido's group's females, also had the best appearance. She had light orange hair, just like Rei, but shorter hair and a headband to keep her hair back.
"It's fine. I intentionally left the key there."
Yet, while they were calm, Isao answered Saya's question calmly, as usual.
"...huh?"
His answer caused everyone to be dumbfounded.
"Why did you do that, Iinuma-kun?" Even Saeko, who had been silent, couldn't help but ask this question.
"Even if we lose the bus, it doesn't matter. There are a lot of cars around us. Moreover, Takagi-senpai, your house is on that distant hill, right? The one that appears like a huge castle-like house, and since we're close, even if we walk, it doesn't matter."
"That's the one." Saya nodded, but then she asked, "But you haven't answered why you left the bus key there?!" Yes, they were okay, even if they didn't have the bus, but why did this guy leave the key to the bus with such an evil individual, such as Shido?
"Because I want to test him."
"...test?" Everyone was confused.
"We're going to stay at your house after all, and of course, I have to be responsible for your family. I don't want to stay with a dangerous individual, and such a person might also be dangerous to your family."
"... Is... is that so?" Saya was stunned, but her face got a little hot when she heard Isao's answer, and her finger subconsciously played with the tip of her hair playfully as she looked away.
"However, I still want to give Shido-sensei a chance. This is the only chance. If Shido and the rest decide to stay and wait for us, then we can trust him. However, if they leave and take the bus, then that's it. It means that they aren't someone worthy to be saved, and there is no need for us to get involved with him and his group in the future."
They all fell silent, as they didn't expect Isao to do something they had never thought of.
Yes, Shido was a bastard, but Isao still gave Shido a single chance.
If Shido wasted this chance, then that's it.
The only disadvantage they had was that they would lose their bus, but it was fine since there were still many cars in their surroundings. Moreover, they were close to Saya's house, and they could walk to reach their destination.
So, what would Shido do?
Could Shido become the good person Isao wishes to be, or leave all of them and be a bastard as usual?
Isao didn't care much about Shido's decision, but he kept staring at the bus from the hole in the newspaper wall that he had crafted to prepare in case Shido tried to crash into all of them to death with the bus.
