Chapter 222: Settling In the City (7), Special Recruit

"I understood everything, Master," Shelby smiled and nodded.

"Good, then let's go."

Aleron used the crystal Elder Ken had given him to teleport right before the territory gate of the Lossblaze Palace branch in the city.

"Looks fantastic," Aleron commented as he looked at the huge palace that was around a thousand meters tall, just like many tall structures in this vast city.

The palace was made of flaming crystals, giving off a hue as if it was burning in orange flame, but its crystal structure was clearly visible due to the sparkling surface.

The duo entered through the gates. The guards didn't stop them after Aleron showed the crystal, and as if the crystal notified Elder Ken after he used it, he also met Elder Ken as soon as he entered.

"You're here! Does this mean you've decided to join us?" Elder Ken asked first before he carefully looked at another figure covered in a full black cloak with a hood.

"Well, I had to join an organization, so I thought I might as well accept a good offer since it came to me," Aleron said with a smile before he introduced Shelby. "You might be wondering about this person, haha. She is someone I met along the way outside after I left the city."

Elder Ken raised his eyebrows in surprise. 'Her aura...'

"It seems that you've realized the potential in Aleron," Shelby said as she removed the hoody and showed him her face. It was completely humanoid except for the beautiful faint bluish eyelashes with a hue of orange and the same colored dot at the center of her forehead.

"You..." Elder Ken's eyes flickered with shock. 'She is more powerful than me.'

'But this makes matters complicated. Why does he have someone this powerful by his side?'

"I was saved by Shelby when I was exploring the chaotic wilderness and encountered a group that was hell-bent on killing me," Aleron wryly smiled.

"I see..." Elder Ken nodded, his expression slightly hesitated as he looked at Shelby.

"I am not affiliated with anyone or any organization, but if Aleron joins Lossblaze Palace, then I will also join as his guardian," Shelby smiled.

"That's right," Aleron said with a serious expression. "I won't accept the offer unless Shelby is allowed. She is my saviour and an important companion."

'It seems that she also judged this young man to have a high potential, thus connecting with him to ensure a better future,' Elder Ken thought as he looked at Shelby. 'I can't say she made a wrong decision.'

"Alright, I have no problem with this, but as Lady Shelby is a powerhouse of the higher realm, this matter will be handled by someone else," Elder Ken said with an amicable smile and turned around, "Come, follow me."

The duo followed Elder Ken and went into the Palace. After arriving in the hall, they went to a corridor at the left before entering another small hall.

"I've called the Branch Master. She will be here shortly," Elder Ken gestured for Aleron and Shelby to sit on the couch before he also sat down.

But just a few seconds later, everyone felt a slight flow of colorful wind as they looked at a corner and saw a beautiful black-haired woman appearing, her pale blue eyes sparkling as they stopped at Aleron, looking at him with interest.

"So he is the one?"

"Yes, Branch Master Lilisa," Elder Ken stood up and nodded while smiling. "He is the one."

"Aleron," Branch Master Lilisa sharply looked at Aleron. "I know that Elder Ken has recommended you, but you still have to take a test if you want to join the special recruitment of Propser Path Alliance."

"Yes. Elder Ken told me I have a chance to enter there," Aleron said with a jolly smile. "I am willing to take the test."

"I like your enthusiasm. Let's go right now," Branch Master Lilisa said with a faint smile and waved her hand.

"It's nothing unreasonable," Aleron wryly chuckled. "I just want Shelby to join as well because she is my savior and my companion. She is a solo powerhouse who saved my life when

I was in trouble."

"That's right," Shelby chuckled. "I am aware of Aleron's potential, and he has no one here. As such, I've decided to become his Guardian and ride his cottontail for a better future while I continue to ensure he is safe from misfortunes."

"That's very interesting," Branch Master Lilisa raised her eyebrows. "It's not hard to determine Aleron's potential if it's simply based on his Mystic Path, which is extraordinary indeed. Oh well, since you two trust each other, then I have no problem. You can stay with him

in the residency we provide to him."

"Then, Branch Master Lilisa, should I start the preparation for their transport?" Elder Ken

asked with a smile.

"It seems you are in a hurry to write your name as the referer and become a backrider, eh?"

Elder Ken gulped and weakly smiled, "Haha, of course not. It is fine even if you wish for me not to include my name."

"Go on, prepare their badge and everything else you have to do," Branch Master Lilisa plainly said as she waved her hand. "I'm taking them to Prosper Path Branch right away."

"As you wish, Branch Master. I'll follow up on everything," Elder Ken said with a fawning

smile.

"Aleron and Shelby, right? You two should come with me for now. We have a teleport formation connecting to this city from our area, so you can come here later if you want to finish any unfinished matter here."

Aleron and Shelby nodded.

...

Branch Master Lilisa took them to another room from this vast grassy plain. The room had a teleport ring. The Branch Master activated it before the trio entered and arrived in a place

outside the city.

"This is a secured area at the edge of the First Region of Chaosverse. No one else can come

here aside from those approved by Propser Path Alliance. There are more special recruits like you in our hill abode area. Your residency is also there. One big pavilion with a private ground

and a small pond."

Lilisa took them there by riding in her mysterious wind that was almost like teleport, though

no instant travel.

"After four days, there will be a competition among the special recruits," Lilisa said with a

faint smile. "Out of around a hundred Paragon-rank powerhouses, only thirty will be selected to be in our special nurture program. You have four days to train and improve your strength in

your own way."

After saying that, Lilisa gave a crystal to Aleron. "Four days later, this crystal will blink to notify you of the competition's start. You can return to the city using the teleport ring in the pavilion, but you must be here after four days, or you'll never be able to return here."

"Good luck, and see you after four days."
