Chapter 234: Ship of Gravespirit Mayhem, Battle
Aleron and the group entered the Chaotic Phenomenon with a chaotic force of 11.
As soon as they entered, an unknown power relayed to them the name of this phenomenon. Ship of Gravespirit Mayhem. Shelby usually couldn't enter, but she had completely suppressed and sealed her power enough to be on the Unbound-rank, peak stage to enter.
The enemy's Transcendent would also have to do the same. The moment they broke the seal and used power above Unbound-rank, they would get kicked out.
"Urghh...." Kira groaned as she felt scared; her senses became wobbly, and she started seeing things. Suddenly, a rotten watermelon-sized head with two big holes instead of eyes and a mouth that formed a whirling hung upside down in front of her, prompting her to scream out loud.
"Stay within the barrier. The chaotic power here seems to affect the mind and soul," Shelby said as she waved her hand, creating a barrier around Luna, Kira, and Aleron.
Meanwhile, the nineteen chaotic beasts floated in a formation as Shelby commanded them.
The eight Unbound-rank chaotic beasts floated in eight directions, forming a huge octagon with Aleron, Luna, and Kira in the middle. They were not in full body size and remained around 10 to 50 meters tall for the ease of maneuvering on this huge ship's deck.
Due to them being summoned from the Gacha System, they were not under the jurisdiction of Chaosverse will, making them different yet more powerful because all of these Chaotic Beasts had a higher chance to convert into Mystic Beasts like Shelby upon breaking through to Transcendent-rank, conquering the chaotic paths they had and gaining sentient enlightenment.
The eight Unbound-rank chaotic beasts were all more intelligent and could listen to Shelby, thanks to them being summoned from the Gacha System, and they had a sense of loyalty towards Aleron.
The Paragon-rank chaotic beasts also had a sense of loyalty towards Aleron, but they weren't as intelligent as the Unbound-rank ones and had to be reined in with intimidation from Shelby to make them listen to her.
This was one more perk of Mystic Beasts. They could reign in Chaotic Beasts and make them obey forcefully by suppressing their chaotic instincts from their Chaotic Paths.
As such, the Paragon-rank chaotic beasts remained inside the Octagon formed by Unbound- rank chaotic beasts, their job only to protect Aleron, Luna, and Kira.
The massive ship's deck was two kilometers long, and it was roughly a kilometer wide as well.
The Chaotic Phenomenon's specialty appeared to be fear, hallucination, soul hax, and psychic interference.
Aleron was curious and left the barrier made by Shelby, wanting to experience it.
"Master, be careful."
"Yeah," Aleron nodded as he stepped out, instantly feeling a weird pressure all around him, as if he was in thick, muddy water, making it hard for him to move.
The scenery around him started becoming strange and wobbly as grotesque, ghastly beings glowing with a hazy hue cyan color emerged from the floors below deck.
'Are they real or an illusion?'
*Chraaaa!*
Suddenly, one of the ghastly was big on Aleron's shoulder from behind, causing sharp pain while poisoning his mind as he felt further wobbly.
'Scatter!' Aleron grunted as he created and unleashed a Magic Print of rank-6, Evil Erasure Fan. Since he knew what they targeted and how they formed, he created a Magic Print to counter them.
A pair of giant black war fans manifested, shining with metallic black and carved with golden patterns. As they flapped strongly above Aleron, the ghastly beings vanished.
"Master, the beings you are seeing are real, but only for you. That's how this Ship of Gravespirit Mayhem works," Shelby said as she looked below. "Its core should be somewhere below."
"But before exploring this, we'll have to deal with them," Shelby looked ahead as the group
of people hell-bent on killing them entered the chaotic phenomenon as well.
Five Unbound-rank powerhouses and two Transcendent-rank powerhouses.
However, they were shocked to see the bunch of chaotic beasts surrounding the group.
"E-Elder, this doesn't look good."
Shelby didn't wait even a bit, unleashing one of her strongest AOE attacks.
Mystic Skill: Enshrounding Tsunami.
It was indeed a tsunami of high waves surging forward at a breakneck speed, but it wasn't made of water. Instead, it was thousands of Frostblades wrapped in a fiery glow of black flame as they swam in the ethereal blue water waves.
She didn't hold back in energy, using 20% of her overall energies, and since it was a large area skill that blocked the vision of enemies, she commanded the eight Unbound-rank chaotic beasts to use their skills to block the path outside.
The Chaotic Beasts wouldn't experience the strange chaotic phenomena that Aleron just experienced.
The pressure on them increased, and in just a minute, all Unbound-rank enemies died, leaving the Transcendent-rank alone as he struggled to get ganged up by eight Unbound- rank monsters boosted by Aleron's level 7 buff-type Magic Print!
As a named Magic Print created with Magic Tongue, it was a powerful and comprehensive buff-type power.
[Magic Print: Warrick]-7-star.
-Effect:
--> Any connection made with the opponent during battle, be it a clash of skills or fists, will
boost your Physical power by 20%.
-> The more injured you get, the higher the boost.
This early-stage Transcendent had 97 Trinity force and he soon died under the bombardment
from the Unbound-rank chaotic beasts.
He was able to injure them with his skills, but the more he injured them, the more powerful
and tougher they got!
In the end, he couldn't figure out why they were so strong and died without knowing. 'Come here,' Aleron's eyes glinted as an ethereal ghastly prison manifested, capturing the
soul.
Without a body, a soul would get weaker, but still, it wouldn't be possible for a Paragon-rank powerhouse to handle it.
However, Aleron made this Soul Prison using a level 7 Magic Print: Xalindor. Even a peak Transcendent-rank's soul wouldn't be able to escape his Soul Prison Xalindor!
On the other hand, Boral finally figured out why Shelby was stronger than him despite having
a lower Trinity Force than him.
He noticed the power of Magic Print on her, but even if he figured it out, he was all alone here
and losing.
'No...I have to contact my clan,' Boral gritted his teeth as he created a defensive barrier and quickly meditated, using his Chaos Breathing Art to swiftly recover his Chakra energy. Shelby also did the same right away upon seeing the barrier instead of bothering to break it.
However, it was clear that she was stronger, not just thanks to Aleron's Magic Print buff, but also her Mystic Path being stronger, meaning her skills were better! She was injured, but only moderately and she had healing traits in her Mystic Path. Boral was injured heavily and also couldn't heal due to the effect of her Mystic Paths' traits in her skills being more potent than traits possessed by Boral.
His body was littered with cuts that were crystalized into ice, but blood still oozed out from
the ice. This was one of her main effects composed in her Passive Mystic Skill that had the
power of all three of her paths.
Freezing the target's wounds, stopping them from healing, but causing bleeding through the frost as her ice absorbed blood and released it outside.
Five seconds passed by as both of them focused on each other, recovering chakra. However, the moment Shelby saw that Bolar had recently recovered Chakra energy, using it to
deal with the Frostbleed wounds, she immediately launched a powerful attack.
'Damn it! Damn it!'
With no other choice, Bolar had to prepare as his barrier was breached.
Their clash resumed.
'Shelby, you want me to use a harmful 7-star Magic Print on him?' Aleron asked as he also
finished recovering his Chakra energy and Magilore since he spent tons to buff everyone and create that Soul Prison Xalindor.
'No need, master,' Shelby smiled amidst the battle. 'He is just prolonging his defeat that is already set in stone.'
Indeed, Shelby didn't give him any chance after that.
Bolar had spent some recovered Chakra energy to heal himself, so he already had lower chakra
energy as their second round of fight began. Shelby didn't give him any more chance to recover after that, and he kept getting more injuries, ultimately dealing the finishing blow after a few minutes.
