Out of habit, he rubbed his forehead but didn’t feel the usual pain.

Typically, Lin Yu He fell asleep faster after drinking milk before bed, but always had a headache when he woke up in the morning. There was no pain today though.

He had to say, though, that even though accidents kept happening, making him feel embarrassed al the time, Mr. Lu’s place was really nice to sleep at.

Even though Lin Yu He could not recognise the bed, his sleep quality had improved vastly.

It was just that the warm water bottle he had been holding was missing again, and he had no idea where it was. It took Lin Yu He a while to find it at the foot of the bed — at the foot of the bed on Mr. Lu’s side.

Before, when Lin Yu He slept, the warm water bottle would always escape his arms, but he didn’t expect it to go so far. When he shifted the quilt and noticed the warm water bottle, Lin Yu He couldn’t help but pinch the bridge of his nose.

He also didn’t know if the escaping hot water bottle had bothered Mr. Lu, and began to think nervously.

Lu Nan was not in the bedroom. Lin Yu He changed his clothes, washed up and left the room to find the man in the dining room.

Seeing him, Lu Nan said, “Come here and eat.”

Breakfast had been set out already, with homely steamed buns and hot porridge. After Lin Yu He finished eating, he glanced at the time. It was only half past seven.

Lu Nan had also finished eating, and put on his coat, preparing to leave. The driver waiting at the door reached out to take Lin Yu He’s bag, but he waved his hand and said to Lu Nan, “No need, elder brother. It’s still very early, I’ll walk to school.”

“It’s not a matter of time.”

Lu Nan ignored him.

“The wind is too cold in the morning, and it’s easy to catch a cold when you walk there. I’ll take you.”

Lin Yu He couldn’t argue back, and the driver picked up the bag.

The two got onto the car together, and as they sat in the back seats, Lin Yu He glanced at the profile of the man beside him, becoming a little dazed.

Although there had been several incidents, they really seemed to be living together before they knew it.

After a peaceful journey, the car arrived at the school gate. It was still early, and there was nobody outside the gates. Lin Yu He put on his mask and left the car, and the man exited too, reaching a hand out to neaten his scarf.

Lin Yu He was about to say goodbye to the other, but when he saw the man’s actions he had thought of something and couldn’t help but laugh.

He was wearing a mask, but his eyebrows and eyes were creased and his smile was obvious.

The man looked down at him. “What is it?”

Lin Yu He shook his head: “It’s nothing.”

Lu Nan said nothing, but pressed his fingers against his chin and looked down at him.

Lin Yu He had no choice but to surrender: “I just felt as if it was like a parent sending their child to school.”

He regretted this even before he even finished his sentence.

On one hand, Mr. Lu was not his parent, so saying this was crossing a line. On the other hand, Lin Yu He didn’t know what it was like for a parent to send their child to school. He had never experienced this kind of thing since he was very young.

The feeling just now was just one that he had imagined from watching other students being picked up by their parents when he was young and was not accurate. It was presumed that Mr. Lu would have a hard time understanding such inexplicable talk.

Lin Yu He was about to apologise for offending him but heard Lu Nan speak.

“Don’t get distracted in class and listen to the teacher.”

Lin Yu He was stunned.

“Go out for a while during break, don’t sit in the classroom all the time.”

The man’s voice was low and emotionless, but as he spoke it really sounded like a parent’s advice.

“Go. I’ll pick you up after school tonight.”

Lin Yu He wanted to laugh, but his eyes were sour for no reason.

He finally convinced himself to smile: “Okay.”

Walking in with his bag, Lin Yu He glanced back as he passed through the gates. The man was still standing there watching him. Lin Yu He waved at him and turned away. He pinched the bridge of this nose, daring not to look back.

The winter sun was white, giving off no heat in the sky. The cold wind was blowing hard but Lin Yu He barely felt the cold.

He was still thinking about Mr. Lu.

Perhaps it was because the man was typically too serious, so when they said such things, it will make people overthink for no reason.

Lin Yu He slowly let out a sigh of relief.

He thought that Mr. Lu would definitely be a good father in the future.

It was only 07:50 when he arrived in the classroom. There was nobody there, as everyone typically didn’t arrive early to the first class in the morning. Lin Yu He saved four seats, and after a short wait, Zhen Ling and the others arrived with breakfast.

The teacher had arrived, so a few people were secretly eating breakfast under the desk. Zhen Ling sipped the soy milk and suddenly whispered something.

“Hehe.” He tilted his head to look at Lin Yu He. “You’ve looked good these two days.”

Lin Yu He was stunned: ”Huh?”

Zhen Ling poked at his own face and gestured, “In the past, when it was cold, your face would be very pale like a frozen ice sculpture. But it seems to be better these two days. Did you take care of your body this weekend?
