Chapter 116: Chapter 114: A Reveal
[3rd POV]
Gripping Non's fist within her hand, Talia looked the man over, before humming.
"This is Non, right Supergirl?" Talia asked, causing the flabbergasted Kara to nod in response, causing Talia to grin underneath her mask.
Without so much as a warning, the man was launched through the nearest window, away from the area. Seeing their leader being attacked, the other Kryptonians sped towards Solaris, only to groan in weakness as a red energy began to softly radiate from Solaris. Kara was confused, as the Kryptonians slowly dropped to the ground, and into unconsciousness.
Looking at Talia, Kara only had one question on her mind at that moment.
"What just happened?"
Walking alongside Kara, Talia took in the surroundings of the new location. The current headquarters of the DEO, a large bunker like building in the middle of nowhere outside of National City.
Inside was guards of all kinds, scientists, analysts, and all sorts of personal needed to properly run the group. Being dragged in behind them, was the Kryptonians that Talia had knocked out, with only Non having gotten away from the fight, as the second she launched him away, the man fled as fast as he could. Seemingly understanding that Solaris was way out of his league.
"So this is the DEO? It's kind of...underwhelming, to be honest" Talia said, looking over the bunker. Most of the technology was...pretty lacking, for a group that was meant to track aliens and capture the ones that are causing issues.
"We have some of the best tech on the planet, how is it underwhelming?" Alex asked on the side, frowning slightly. She didn't trust Solaris in the least, especially not with her showing that she could generate and control Red Solar Energy, one of the few things that can harm, and even kill a Kryptonian.
"Because you'd think a group specializing in tracking aliens, would actually use alien technology to do it. Just a single glance at your computers, and I can tell they're human made, and horribly obsolete compared to a much superior computer an alien could have made" Talia replied with a shrug, as she sat at a circular little table of sorts.
"And how can you tell? They're more advanced than what even the Government uses" Alex replied with a small scoff, causing Kara to frown.
"Alex..."
"Did I do something to you, Agent Danvers?" Talia asked, looking the woman down that was pretty blatantly not a fan of her.
"No, I just don't trust you" Alex replied bluntly, causing Talia to raise an eyebrow underneath her helmet.
"Why? I've done nothing but help Kara, and the DEO" Talai replied, confused on what exactly it was that she had done to get such treatment.
"That's exactly the point. You are helping Kara, someone you've never met and barely know. It's hard to trust you with all the aliens running around now a days"
"The Fort Rozz aliens, you mean" Kara said, struggling not to show her displeasure with the way her sister was treating her friend.
"Is it so hard to believe that I genuinely care for her? That I genuinely wish to help her against people like Non, and other aliens that wish to bring harm to her, and National City?" Talia said.
"Not only that, but if Solaris really wanted to hurt me, she could have done it a long time ago. You saw her generate red sun radiation, that alone could take me out, and that's not even talking about the fact that she caught Non's punch like it was nothing" Kara said, staring her adoptive sister down.
"I'd appreciate it if you stopped attempting to do that, Green one" Talia said abruptly, as she felt a push against her mind, one that was massively weaker than her own.
Looking at Hank aka J'onn, Talia stared the Green Martian down.
"Huh? What does she mean by "Green One"...Alex?" Kara asked, looking to her sister as she noticed the way the girl frowned deeply.
Sighing, Hank looked to the two of them before giving Alex a small nod "Come with me"
Looking at eachother, Talia and Kara followed the Green Martian as he led them into a secure room nearby, where they couldn't be overheard, Alex trailing behind them closely.
Walking into the room, Talia looked at the man, before he began to speak.
"I...am not Hank Henshaw"
"Huh?"
"So you're telling me your an alien from mars, the last of your kind, and can shapeshift?" Kara said after J'onn gave her a rather long explanation on who he was, what had happened to the real Hank Henshaw, and a what happened to Alex's dad.
"He can also read minds, telekinesis, and has some other pretty neat powers" Talia added, causing the man to turn to her in surprise.
"And how did you know what I was?" J'onn asked, looking Solaris down.
Smirking underneath her mask, her voice sounded out...but within their minds 'You're not the only telepath'
"I see. Did you read my mind? The fact that you can speak to me in my mind with such ease, means you are most definitely more powerful than me" J'onn asked, looking Solaris down
with interest.
"Nope. I don't read minds unless I need to. My senses are much stronger than any normal persons, and are...special in nature. So it wasn't hard to tell what you were" Talia replied,
shrugging.
J'onn nodded as it made sense. There was plenty aliens out there that had senses that could do such a thing, and far beyond. Sёarch* The Nôvel(F)ire.nёt website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
"And how do we know that you're not reading our minds right now? Or that you haven't done it already?" Alex asked, growing more and more untrusting of Solaris.
"Well for one, I'd never do that to Kara as I actually care for her. Two, J'onn would notice the mental intrusion. Three, I have absolutely nothing to gain from doing such a thing, and I'd rather not lose Kara as a friend" Talia replied, growing more and more annoyed with Alex.
And it seemed she was not the only one who was growing annoyed.
"Alex! Drop it!" Kara said, growing angry as she yelled in a rare burst of anger. A burst of anger that seemed to shock Alex as she turned to her sister, who was looking at her with a frown on her face.
"What would I need to do to get you off my back?" Talia asked on the side, stopping the argument that was just about to burst.
"Solaris..." Kara muttered, as Alex looked to her before speaking.
"Show your face, show us who you actually are. Not that you'd even do tha-" Alex couldn't even finish her sentence as an unimpressed Talia allowed her suit to glow, as it disappeared
from her body.
Alex's eyes widened in shock at the sight of Talia Morningstar, staring her down with an amused smirk on her face. J'onn breathed out as his suspicion was confirmed, and Kara just watched her friend reveal her identity, worried. Talia, on the otherhand, only had one thing to
say.
"So is that enough, or do I need to show you more?"

Anyways, have a good day!
