Chapter 61 Beloved Daughter

Ye Kai was sitting at the table while his mother was in the kitchen.

It was tough but Ye Kai resist his urge when he saw his mother in a bathrobe after his mother come out, after he entered the bathroom and took bath.

His mother busied herself around the kitchen, clanging metal plates together and humming a song under her breath. When breakfast was ready, she emerged from the kitchen wearing a crisp green dress.

She placed all the plates and bowls on the table with a grace that belied her years of experience. Ye Kai wanted to help her, but she waved him away, so he resigned himself to sitting at the table. He watched her every move with admiration, even as she bustled around the kitchen like a tiny dancer. The rich aromas of food and spices wafted through the air, the perfect accompaniment to his mother's cooking.

As he was sitting there, he saw Rong Ying come into the kitchen in a disheveled state. Her hair was wild and unkempt, one eye squinting while the other drooped heavily, and a black circle hung under her eyes. Her shirt had twisted to one side, exposing her pale, delicate shoulder.

"Sister... you didn't sleep well?" Ye Nuan asked her, and one eye glanced at Ye Kai.

Ye Kai shrugged at his mother and looked at Rong Ying, he had guessed, why his fourth mother looked like this.

At night, when he unconsciously hugged her, she must wake up, and as not to disturb him, she let him hug her, and this hug must be uncomfortable for her, so she couldn't able to sleep well.

In the morning, when he woke up, he got a little scared, so he didn't pay attention to her, and got out of the room.

"It... I think this is new place for me, so I didn't able to sleep," Rong Ying wave her hand and softly said, then looked at Ye Kai before she rubbed her eyes, and shook her head to wake herself clearly.

Rong Ying woke at night when Ye Kai hugged her, she was fully alert at all times, so if someone hug her at night, she would wake up, and she was also trained to sleep in all situations, but it was the first time a man hugged her in sleep, which disturb her, and she couldn't able to sleep throughout.

She sat at the table, and looked at Ye Kai without showing any expression, she decided to sleep while hugging Ye Kai, to train herself to sleep while hugging a man.

"Today is our first morning in this city, so I made many special dish for breakfast," Ye Nuan set one last plate, with smiled she said.

"It's looked tasty," Ye Kai inhale the aroma of food, as water fills his mouth.

"Yes, it's looked tasty," Rong Ying said and looked at the food.

"Okay, you two just wait a bit, I bring Ming'er," Ye Nuan said and she happily get out of the kitchen.

As she stepped into her room, she found Ye Ming lounging on the bed, her body propped up by her elbow with a book in hand. Her legs were leisurely moving in the air, gently swaying up and down.

"Ming'er, if you wake shouldn't you wash face first," Ye Nuan's brows frowned, she walked to Ye Ming and saw she didn't even pay attention to what she said.

Looking at her daughter reading a book, to which she was addicted, Ye Nuan could only sigh. This wasn't the first time Ye Ming got addicted to reading books, there were many times she got addicted.

And when she got addicted, she won't let the book down until she read all of it, and Ye Nuan knew, right now she couldn't take her outside for breakfast, if she take her book away, then she would scream until she get her book back.

"It's too painfull to raise this girl," Ye Nuan said and looked at Ye Ming.

This book also seemed too thick to complete in some time, Ye Nuan shook her head and get outside for breakfast, and had breakfast with Rong Ying and Ye Kai.

After Rong Ying went to bathe, then Ye Nuan took some breakfast, and two glasses, and entered the room.

She sat down on the floor near the edge of the bed, then took a bowl of streamed eggs mixed with Ye Ming's favorite veggies.

Ye Nuan took a glass that was filled with water, she gave it to Ye Ming.

"Drink water first," Ye Nuan said to Ye Ming, and Ye Ming's eyes were fully focused on the book, her lips were moving slowly.

She heard Ye Nuan, as her eyes never left the book as she put the book on the bed, one hand stretched for water.

Sighing, Ye Nuan put a water glass in her hand, then Ye Ming drink the water, but her eyes never left the book.

Ye Nuan then took the bowl filled with steamed eggs, she took a spoon and swirled streamed eggs in the bowl, then took out the spoon filed streamed eggs and moved this spoon to Ye Ming's mouth.

"Your Highness, please open your mouth," Ye Nuan said, as Ye Ming opened her mouth and eat it.

Ye Nuan feed her one spoon after, another, and Ye Ming was lost in reading.

Before Ye Nuan's poison was cured, She was often filled with worry concerning Ye Ming's well-being if her poison wasn't cured then who would take care of Ye Ming after her death? This fear kept her up many nights, tears streaming down her face.

But this girl always seemed to be up to something; she never let Ye Nuan have any personal time with Ye Kai, and rarely did any work. In fact, she seemed to make the workload even greater. Ye Nuan found her to be a real headache.

But at the same time, she loved this girl and wanted her to stay by her side forever, never experiencing any tears or pain. She didn't necessarily expect her to help out with chores, as long as she stopped increasing the workload and gave Ye Nuan more time with Ye Kai. Although this girl brings headaches, she brings more smiles in face.

Ye Nuan smiled fondly at her beloved daughter.
