Chapter 59 Reality (3)

The bee queen began to fly toward the party, but then its attention turned to Jake when he hit its face with two Mana Blades. The creature thought that only three enemies weren't worth the hassle, but the monster soon changed its mind after losing two hundred points of health.

The boss flew toward Jake with its sting ready to pierce him, but Jake blocked the attack after using his shield and Bash. That being said, Jake still suffered some damage due to the sheer weight and speed of the monster. The monster suffered some damage too, but not enough to discourage it from trying again. Even without momentum, the creature began to thrust its sting toward Jake's head, and while it was blocked every single time, Jake was slowly being pushed toward the girls. That only happened when Louise used Fire Wall in front of him, and the monster ended up burning its sting a little bit. The attack only caused ten points of damage per second, so it seemed like the bite of a fly from the boss' perspective.

Instead of blocking when the next attack came, Jake jumped and then tried to cut the face of the boss, but the creature made some arms that looked more like spears appear out of nowhere and then blocked the attack. Now the boss sure looked like that Pokémon… Jake laughed when he realized that.

"Let's give one star for the creativity of the game developers," Jake said.

Fortunately, the monster couldn't use both arms and the sting at the same time. Otherwise, Jake would have a hard time blocking so many things trying to pierce his head. The boss used its sting since it could put all its weight behind the attacks, but then a big Ice Arrow hit its head and forced it to stop. Jake jumped once again, but then when the monster moved its arms to block, Jake changed his target and used Bash, Cyclone Strike, and Double Strike in a quick succession to hit the monster's belly. He opened a wound there, but it was small. Even though the area was wide open, the monster had some endurance.

When Jake landed on the ground, he immediately dashed to his right side and then tried to run around the monster in order to make the creature expose its back to Louise. However, the beast just raised its altitude to oversee the entire battlefield and not expose itself.

After that, the monster pointed its sting toward Jake and fired Poison Arrows. Jake blocked them with the Kite Shield, but the smell alone of the poison falling on the ground was slowly making him lose health. Louise tried to decrease the power of the projectiles, but she had only a moment to do so. So, she wasn't being very effective with that. Still, every moment she drained the mana of the attacks, she gained a lot. So, she used an enhanced Fire Wall in the air and made the boss burn pretty nicely. The monster looked at her in annoyance since the creature lost five hundred points of health in just five seconds.

Deadly Queen Bee Lv 75

Health: 8755/10050

Mana: 11920/12500

Stamina: 4050/4200

"That idiot…" Jake muttered and then used Mana Blades on the monster to make the creature focus on himself again.

While that worked, Jake had to endure a flurry of attacks from the monster. The piercing strikes were causing even more damage, even though Jake was blocking them. Lana was managing to heal him enough to cancel all the damage, but the fact that Jake couldn't attack was the real problem.

Louise fired several Fireballs to make the enemy stop attacking, but the creature was attentive enough to swing its arms and block them. While the boss suffered some damage, it was laughable.

"I need to do my job properly…" Jake thought.

The job of the frontline was to make the backline and the damage dealers attack freely. Since he wasn't doing that, Louise couldn't cause much damage. To solve that problem, Jake decided to use his legs again.

After activating Dash, Jake lowered dropped his shield and then grabbed his scabbard. At the same time, he swung it alongside with his katana to block the next attack. While Jake was pushed backward even more, the boss didn't attack soon after since the katana caused some damage to the sting and thus on the creature. Louise used that minute of distraction to hit the monster's face with an Ice Arrow, and in that brief moment, Jake hit the monster's sting several times in a row. It wasn't much, but each attack was causing some damage and preventing the beast from liking the fight too much.

Before Jake could continue his torrent of attacks, the monster flew away to gain momentum and then dashed toward him again. At the last moment, a Fireball hit the monster's face and then gave the chance to Jake jumped to the side and dodge the attack. Jake dashed and jumped to hit the boss' back with all his might in a hurry. Bash, Cyclone Strike, Double Strike, and Mana Blade. He used all of those nearly instantly and made the boss grunt in pain for the first time in the battle.

The monster turned around and then was hit by a massive Fireball that made it lose one thousand points of health. That was the power of causing a critical hit by using the elemental weakness of a monster and also her ability to drain and charge a spell with mana. Jake told her to hold back a little to control the agro, but in the end, he praised her mentally.

The monster flew higher than before and then landed on the top of the hive in the next moment. Jake didn't like that, so he returned to the girl's side. The creature raised its arms upward, and then the group felt danger.

"Quick! Attack the hive with all your mana! Use fire magic!" Jake said and then raised his shield.

Louise obeyed, but the boss made dozens of Poison Arrows rain over the battlefield in the next moment.
