Chapter 99 Danger (2)

While the giant rabbits weren't that troublesome, Jake decided to hunt them using his bow. As one would expect, his aim sucked, but he could hit them when they were within ten meters from him. Although he had to hit them more than once to kill them, it was fine since Jake wasn't in a hurry, and he had to skin them as well. So, it was fine.

"Hmm… this fur might be useful," Jake said.

"I bet it would be good to use it when we stop to rest, it will be better than sit or sleeping in the rough ground," Louise said.

The knives were sharp enough, so Jake didn't have to spread blood around while skinning the monsters. So, after a few hours in the sun, their white fur wouldn't be that smelly anymore. Regardless, thanks to that trip, Jake and the others had the chance to solve the problem of discomfort they had to deal with now and then.

When the monsters stopped coming for a moment, Jake finally had the chance to see that planet with a bit more of focus. He couldn't see any buildings in the distance, but he sure could see a lot of groves and tall grass in all directions. Thanks to that, Jake began to wonder… why, even though those places had so many monsters, why did they still look somewhat peaceful? Not to mention, why would dungeons appear in such places? Why does the system want them to clear those dungeons?

"Do you guys know why dungeons appear in worlds like these?" Jake asked.

"Why do they appear? I always thought they were a part of it," Clark frowned.

If that was the case, then it seemed that the system wanted them to stop the natural order of some planets. Again, what for was the real question.

"Still, now that I think about it, the level of the monsters increases now and then," Clark crossed his arms and then frowned. "Considering that, I guess we can assume that at some point they were at level one… perhaps something happened and the dungeon made them spawn from level one again. Or the dungeons really appeared recently and thus started spawning level one monsters."

Jake imagined he would find all the answers he was looking for once he found some humans, but that had been obviously a mistake. It would be too much to expect those people who only used two more months' worth of experience than him to have found the answer to all mysteries… Nevertheless, finding those by himself didn't seem so bad. In fact, it looked pretty interesting.

Since heading toward the dungeon would be the same as facing more velociraptors, they decided to stay in the same area. After all, the more they approach the dungeon, the fewer Giant Rabbits they would find. In any case, around noon, they wrapped up things and then returned to the camp. Jake didn't exactly fill his magic box with meat, but he almost got there since the rabbits were so big. Not to mention, he still needs to skin almost half of the ones he got.

"It seems the guild master is in the guild hall," Clark said while looking at a large concentration of people in the building where the members find others before missions. "Let's go there."

When they entered the building, Jake, Lana, and Louise became the focus of everyone's attention. Still, soon they returned to their missions of looking for temporary members for their parties. Jake noticed that there were some slightly wounded women around who apparently had just returned from some missions since they had some scratches here and there. Jake frowned since all of them looked extremely gorgeous, not to mention they either had some large breasts or ass. Was that a coincidence? A party of women who have some sexy bodies?

"It seems the guild master is in the second floor," Clark said. "Let's go there."

Clark guided Jake's party to the second floor, and inside the largest room there, they found the guild master relaxing on an armchair that was made of giant rabbits' fur. It looked pretty comfortable since it was so big… Nevertheless, the guild master was two meters tall and a guy in his twenties who had spiky hair.

Although he seemed young, Rick had the body of someone who hit the gym for several hours a day since high school. Although having so many big muscles would probably make him slow, he didn't have a single scar on his face. Jake was expecting to see someone more shady running things in that place, but he saw in Rick's light brown eyes that he was a pretty easy-going man.

"Clark, it seems you brought your new friends, good job," Rick said.

"Thank you, sir," Clark said. "I will take my leave now."

"Hello, it is a pleasure to meet you all," Rick got up and then offered a handshake to them. "My name is Rick, and I am the guild master here. Clark told me of your impressive achievements, so I really got curious to see you all."

"It is nice to meet you two," Lana said with the largest smile on her face.

Jake almost let out a sigh. He couldn't care less about Lana's preferences in men. Still, she should be more cautious about her reactions in front of tall, hunky guys that apparently were her preferences. As expected, she had close to none self-awareness…

"I assume that Clark showed you all of our facilities and the opportunities that our members had," Rick said and then sat back on his armchair. "What did you find of everything?"

"Impressive, to be able to build this much in only two months is beyond shocking," Jake replied. "It makes me wonder why the nearby camps don't join you when you are so resourceful."
