Eventually, Jake got up when he couldn't withstand the cold snow anymore. His body was still in bad condition, but he managed to work on his magic herbs before he went to his home and threw himself in the bed. This time, he didn't sleep until the next day. He woke up in the middle of the night feeling a bit hungry, so he cooked something to warm him up since it was pretty cold at those hours. While he was doing that, he decided to multitask.

Jake used that chance to check the progress of the last mission. He thought that the boss would be harder to kill, but it was only because he didn't plan ahead that much and decided to enjoy the thrill. The creature was supposed to be pretty strong against groups, but it couldn't do much when the enemies closed in and attacked with all their might. Ultimately, Vare's fight had been a lot harder and more fun…
"I should wait until morning before returning to that city," Jake thought.
Jake spent his free time training Flames of Wrath. During the previous fight, he probably could have avoided the last problem by having more powerful flames, so it had been pretty troublesome. The only issue was that using that was mentally draining… the lack of cost in mana seemed like just a trap for Jake. He was pretty sure that he wasn't that mentally weaker… the extra points in intelligence helped him, but not that much. The increase in willpower and mentality didn't change things much either.
"I guess this skill has some effects beyond my parameters…" Jake thought.
Jake just had to get used to the mental exhaustion and then keep going while he fought. Nevertheless, Jake headed to that world in the morning, and then he walked toward the city. It was a bit annoying since he still could see some guild guys there, but it couldn't be helped. Hopefully, their presence will help Jake sell more of the materials for a better price.
As expected, some people were a bit angry at humans since some of their species had caused a lot of trouble. Still, the vast majority was just thankful that so many of them had come to help and prevent the worst-case scenario. Some of the people of the city used the system, so he knew that it wasn't only humans causing trouble.
Regardless, Jake asked the guards where he could sell the materials, and they pointed him to numerous shops. Those guys focused on selling many types of fruits all around the world, so they had farms in many places. The groves around the city were just a small number of the materials gathered over the years. It was weird, though. Those people used the system, but they also had their own currency…
In any case, Jake got twenty coins for each of the roots that he got, but he also got five times more for each pelt of the frozen grizzly that he sold. As expected, it was a lot more profitable to sell the materials of another world in faraway lands.
"You should be more careful selling those kinds of things," Luke suddenly approached and said. "They clearly reveal the places that you have been, or you are using as a base. Try to accumulate more types of materials before selling them."
"Ugh… you…" Jake said.
"Can you please look just a bit less displeased? Even I have feelings, you know," Luke said.
"I find that hard to believe," Jake said.
"Anyway, you got in their way three times now, so you will definitely be targetted by them from now on. You should take my advice to heart," Luke said. "Also, you work with those three from time to time for your own safety. You guys form a pretty good team."
"About their safety? Working with me will make them targets as well," Jake said. "Besides, I don't need help. I already kicked their asses three times… does that mean that the liches factory was also something they were involved in? I thought those two only joined the terrorists after they ran away."
"It makes sense you would think that, but the truth is, they were working as a team using normal methods to make them able to gather information about other guilds," Luke explained. "From what I have learned recently, they are looking for people that have the potential to come from the tutorial zone. While making them work with those that don't have innate skills. Even those that don't have the innate skills might come here, after all. As long as they have a lot of talent for fighting."
"And that is what the criminals want," Jake added.
