It didn't take long for Jake to find out what had happened, a sea of mummies began to leave the last part of the dungeon, and they ran toward him… He didn't hesitate in trying to use the system and escape. However, for some reason, the system wasn't working. He selected another mission, but he wasn't teleported. Jake also tried to Teleport to the worlds he had been to, but nothing happened… that surprised him. He was expecting many things from his enemies and the criminals, but nothing of something of that level. He was pretty sure most people weren't supposed to have that kind of skill...
"What the hell…" Jake thought and then began to run toward the entrance of the dungeon. "Did someone cause the dungeon break and then sealed Teleport magic here?"
You received an additional quest: defeat all the monsters inside the dungeon.
It was the only explanation, Jake had no idea how humans could cause dungeon breaks, but he was certain that the terrorizes set a trap there for him. After thinking for a while, it was only natural that they would know which missions Jake would take since they had progressed more than him. Still, to think that they would choose a method like that…
"They might be waiting for me at the entrance of the dungeon… The one who caused the dungeon break should have left before the teleport magic was sealed," Jake thought.
Jake was in a bind. Leaving the dungeon and fighting in the open would be better than suffering from the gravity magic of who knows how many mummies. Still, he would be wide open for attacks from behind. It was clear that the enemies were waiting for that. Still, he wondered why they were being so cautious. They knew that they were like that, but not that much…
"Well, whatever," Jake thought. "I just have to crush their plans… a dungeon break is a pretty good chance to get stronger as well, so I can use this."
Jake was pretty sure that the mummies would easily find him inside the dungeon, even more so if they were being controlled by the purple crystal. So, waiting for ambushes was a waste of time. It would prolong his amount of time working as well.
Jake looked for the longest corridor that he could find and then waited for the mummies to show up, he had a lot of shurikens ready to be used, and it was time to check his skill with them had been improved. When some mummies appeared, Jake waited instead of attacking. Once he entered their field of vision, Jake felt his body getting heavier. On that corridor, only two mummies could cross at the same time, but he still felt his body got three times heavier, so he assumed that six monsters could see him.
"So, it is like that…" Jake thought and then threw one of his shurikens.
After using Concentrated Strike for a while alongside Throw, the shuriken flew at supersonic speeds. Eventually, it beheaded four mummies before it could stop. Jake hoped that the weapons would have killed a few more mummies, but as expected, the bandages were getting in the way, even if just a little. Nevertheless, he had a decent stock of those in hand, and the skills didn't consume that much stamina, so Jake was prepared to do that for as long as it was needed.
The monsters kept coming for a while, but eventually, the number of corpses on the corridor became a problem for both sides. Jake was free of the gravity magic since the monsters couldn't see him anymore, but he couldn't attack, and they couldn't move either. Jake thought that the mummies would move the bodies, but instead of that, the corpses just became dust…
"Wait, what?" Jake thought.
The same thing didn't happen before, and Jake studied the other corpses for quite a while before defeating them… was the purple crystal making that, or was the boss of the dungeon? Either way, that was way too convenient. You can't change the rules of their dungeons like that out of nowhere.
The monsters began to run toward Jake now instead of staggering while moving forward like zombies. If Jake didn't know any better, he would have said that someone used a weird skill on them. Regardless, Jake now had less time to aim at them, so he stopped using Concentrated Strike and just tried to buy some time with the shurikens. When he hit the heads of the mummies, and they died, they quickly turned into dust. At that point in time, it was clear as the day that someone very powerful was watching him fight.
"I can't feel my mana being drained for no reason, so mental armor isn't being activated," Jake thought. "No one is trying to access my skills, so I shouldn't show them carelessly."
Jake kept using shurikens as much as possible. Still eventually, the mummies got too close, and they immediately used their area of effect spell that caused damage to those close to them. Jake tried to ignore them as he equipped his sword and began to cut them down. Each of his swings cut one of the monsters down, but then he began to get hit in the back by Poisonous arrows… Those creatures could even control their skills like that…
Jake put his shield on the back and equipped the greatsword before he charged and impaled several of them. After he did that, he kicked the corpses and made them fall on the top of the remaining beasts.
"I can't believe that I will have to use this… You guys will pay for making me this mad…" Jake said.
Jake just walked away while his sword was being dragged on the ground. The monsters tried to chase him while others used the poisonous arrows. However, Jake's shield protected him, and when the other mummies got too close, they were pierced by ice spikes that emerged from the ground.
