It was one boss… Jake didn't imagine that one would lead the charge toward the castle. It also looked pretty powerful. As for his goons, Jake ignored them. He already had imagined that something weird would be happening since the dungeon breaks would mostly help the monsters spawning in the region, but not something on that level. It was hard to imagine why they were working with the criminals.

"What the hell am I doing here…" Jake said and then sighed. "Hey, you. You can understand my words, right? Might as well take advantage of this… You are working with the guys that forced the dungeon break, right?"

The big ape in golden armor put the bag to the side and signaled for the goons to take care of it. Jake was sure that he had understood him, so he was just being ignored. That was annoying, but it was better that way… Jake will have a hard time getting the Intel that he wanted, but he won't have to think too much about it when he kills that asshole.

As if the boss was trying to show off, he hit his fists against each other, and then he suddenly charged toward Jake. That speed was inhuman… It was evident since the boss was one in the first place. Regardless, thanks to his instincts, Jake moved to the side and dodged the attack, only to see the boss colliding against a column and some walls of the castle.

"Who needs doors when you can cross buildings like that," Jake said. "Still… You poor thing… That must hurt every time."

The golden ape ignored Jake's taunts. That was probably for the best since one mistake and Jake would be crushed. Despite that, Jake assumed his stance when the enemy prepared to attack as well… He wasn't just going to let the enemy determine the pace of the battle. When the boss charged again, Jake swung his sword down, and the enemy punched a bit earlier to stop that motion. The monster's fist and Jake's sword collided, causing a shockwave that made cracks appear on the ground. The beast got hurt in its fists, and some blood began to drop from the wound, but Jake was sent flying to the distance while spinning in the air. He almost collided against a wall, but he landed with his two feet on it before he leaped toward the monster. It was a risky plan, but Jake was someone who was used to taking his chances.

The monster engulfed its fists in flames as if it was showing that it would take the fight a bit more seriously… If Jake had the time to do it, he would have scoffed at that… once again. Both the fist and the sword collided. However, this time, the monster lost its power a bit sooner than expected since Jake enhanced his sword with his dark flames, and he also used Full Swing, making the beast lose some defense. More blood began to fall from the hand when the monster began to retreat, but the wound slowly closed.

"As expected, I will need more than that," Jake thought.

Instead of approaching, the monster punched the air, and a big Fireball flew toward Jake at supersonic speeds. He felt like flexing as well, so he just swung his sword and repelled the projectile. The boss kept firing those, and Jake repeated the same time, but it was clear who could do what faster. Moving a fist was a lot easier than moving a big sword. Still, Jake insisted on that strategy because he wanted to see the stupid boss running out of mana.

Unfortunately, out of nowhere, the beast charged when Jake destroyed one of the Fireballs. The monster got insanely close while Jake was finishing the move of his attack, and he didn't have time to do anything else. He only clenched his teeth to endure the impact and then used dark flames on the face of the beast. That didn't stop the attack, but it forced the beast to stop right there while the flames were eating the flesh of its face.

Meanwhile, after getting hit in the stomach, Jake was sent flying to the opposite side of the room. Despite his armor, he felt his ribs cracking, and he didn't have time to spat a mouthful of blood before he crashed against one of the walls. The impact had been so powerful that the wall broke, and he landed in the room after rolling on the ground. As much as he hated magic, he used Barrier. Otherwise, he would have been dead by now.

Jake slowly got up while he was drinking a health potion. He couldn't do anything else since his dark flames don't work with Vampirism and his health dropped to dangerous levels. Jake got caught off guard because he decided to treat that creature like a monster, but in the end, it was a sapient being on the same level as Vare… His pride won't allow him to make the same mistake twice, so it was fine.

Eventually, the boss reached the other room, and Jake confirmed that a good chunk of its face had been consumed by the dark flames. Unfortunately, that only worked to make the beast angrier. It won't help Jake in any way. Nevertheless, when he readied himself again, he saw the boss's goons trying to escape…
