Chapter 224 Disagreement (4)

It seemed like a useful skill to have when facing many melee opponents. The only issue was that gauntlets weren't much of Jake's style. Attacking the ground would leave him open during the duration of the skill as well. Still, after thinking for a while, he came up with some ideas on how to sue that effectively.

"Unless I can defeat the enemies around with that skill alone," Jake thought. "I guess I should only use that skill in such moments."

In any case, Jake went to master the gauntlets in the nearby dungeon. The sun was already setting, so he had to hurry up.

Congratulations! You have become a Level one Brawler!

Your strength and health will increase by six points, and your stamina, mana, mentality and willpower will increase by three points whenever you level up your class.

Congratulations! You have learned the skill: Rising Dragon.

Effect: A powerful vertical strike that paralyzes the enemy hit while you are moving and hitting them upward.

Cost: 50 stamina.

You obtained 01 status point.

"... I suppose this skill also gives me mobility," Jake said.

Jumping and attacking upward could be useful against some flying monsters. Still, it would leave Jake in a complicated situation for a while. Despite that, Jake had some fun punching the chin of the Grizzlies when he used that skill. Moreover, they got completely stunned during that attack, and the reach of the skill increased when it leveled up. He was starting to see that all skills had merits and demerits and he just had to find the right moment to use them and ignore the demerits.

Jake returned to his base and then began to work on the potions for the next two missions. Considering that the inhabitants of the first world attacked some humans during the war, it wouldn't be weird if he were to be attacked again. When things escalated that much, he honestly didn't know what to do… killing them was what Jake would usually do to those who dare to attack him, but that might cause more problems. In the end, Jake decided to beat them half to death and take their items for the problems they might cause to him.

Planet Sade - Mission: Clear the revengeful apes' dungeon. Reward:80.000 coins, 8000 fame, and a class.

As soon as Jake woke up that day, he selected the mission. Although he had a lot of action, completing more or less two missions a few days ago, the next few days had passed too anticlimactic for his tastes. So, he woke up thirsting for some good fights. Still, he didn't expect that he would find one so soon… As soon as he appeared in the lion people world, he saw some parties patrolling as if they were expecting people to appear. They readied themselves to fight as soon as Jake took a step backward.

"Hey, hey… seriously…" Jake said.

Those guys didn't look that strong, but the problem was the fact that Jake was planning not to kill them before. Not killing those fifteen guys when they were trying to kill him will definitely come to bite him in the ass later…

Jake equipped his greatsword and readied himself to fight. He won't risk his life just because he feared that he might cause a war between humans and the lion people. For all intentions and purposes, the war probably started thanks to the assholes of the criminals.

The lion people didn't learn their lesson and charged toward Jake without worrying about strategy. Thanks to that, Jake jumped backward and hit the first three that approached on their side and made them collide against each other. Although Jake hit them with the side of his sword, he clearly felt their bones cracking, so they would be out of commission for a short while.

The next group tried to surround Jake with five of their members, and while that wasn't a bad strategy, the fact that they attacked at the same time made things easier for Jake. As soon as they got close enough, he combined Fissure and Explosive Touch. He raised a big curtain of dust, and those guys only hit each other in the middle of it since Jake jumped. They didn't hurt themselves that much, so Jake smacked them in the head with the back of his sword.

"How stupid can these guys be…" Jake thought.

As if they had recalled that they could do that, the last group finally used their Sonic Slash and sent powerful waves of wind toward Jake. He blocked them with his sword, but before he could attack, they kept spamming that skill. Jake ran out of patience and used Thunder Arrows on them until they fell to their knees due to paralysis. After that, he smacked them in the head with the side of his sword.

"Give me a break…" Jake thought as he began to take away the weapons and armor those guys had. "I guess I will break their bones as annoyance fee and to make sure that they won't cause problem again anytime soon."
